This place got over the previous cheesesteak/kabob place inside the shell gas station! Food tasted great and the portions were enough for at least two meals! The owner was so pleasant and nice. Everything tasted fresh and even the presentation looked good after traveling in my car for 15 mins. The gyro wrap was huge! The kabob entrees you can pick between chickpeas or spinach (both delicious) and the grilled tomato and jalapeño or salad. Automatically comes with rice and naan. I ordered the kabuli palau to try since I've had it elsewhere and it didn't taste that great. Hers was yummy and it came with pieces of lamb shank! Better than expected! Came here years ago when a food truck owner moved into this location and it was called something else. Back then the food was overly salty and seemed overpriced. Got food from here a week ago and it was better than I was expecting. Large portions and fresh food. Was actually very delicious. Gives me hope for food gas station food! read more

I was looking for a new place to try out some good Mediterranean takeout from and I came across this surprising little spot in a Shell gas station in South Riding which turned out to be a surprising little gem of a place! Visited in March 2025. Our order was promptly taken, repeated back, and food was ready shortly thereafter We ordered the beef gyro, lamb kabob entree with chickpeas, and mango lassi. While the meats and chickpeas were tasty, they lacked full flavor-as if there weren't seasoned enough. The chickpeas were very mild. Mango lassi was disappointing due to it tasting more like squash and having a very thin consistency, almost like water. The best part of the meal was the rice and chickpeas. read more

This place has a lot of hype, but it really didn't live up to it at all. I really wish I didn't have to give it a bad review, because the staff were so kind and you can tell they are passionate, but the food was just really not good. I got the #5 Chicken Kabob for just about $15. The one extra star I'm giving is for the flavor of the chicken itself. It actually had some taste to it and didn't require any sauce, although that was more a fault of the sauce more than anything else... Rice was rice and salad was salad. Naan was just alright, I'm not quite sure if it's made in house or not because it seemed quite small and didn't have that almost flaky texture that some other restaurants have. The chickpeas though... they were hard and lukewarm. Not the soft, melty ones that they should be. They were also not hot by the time we got home to eat - just a short 5 minute drive. They also had a really weird roasted jalapeno that came with it - I mean, if you love jalapenos I'm sure you would enjoy this, but I think that should be more of an optional side rather than a standard one. It was very, very spicy and I don't think many people would enjoy it. The big kicker for me were the sauces though. That's where I get the most enjoyment out of middle eastern food - the yogurt sauces, the hummus, the spicy chutney. But Kabob Nook had none of that. Their white sauce was bland and flavorless. I might as well have been eating yogurt straight out of a cup. And their green sauce was more like a spicy salsa? It was good for what it was, but a salsa is not what I expect when I get a green sauce at a kabob place. All in all, I'd say Kabob Nook is not even worth trying. If you really want kabobs, just make the trip out to Moby Dick's, Afghan Famous Kabob, or one of those food court ones in the mall, otherwise you'll just be disappointed. read more

The lady that answered the phone was so pleasant and nice and she delivered my order to my car with a smile. Got their #3 lamb chops and #9 chicken and beef combo both with chickpeas sides. Loved the accompanying charred jalapeño and tomato, their yogurt sauce was yummy. They also serve all of this with naan which was a bit chewy and underwhelming, but this could have been because it steamed in the bag before I arrived to pick it up. I appreciated how fresh their ingredients were, simple things like the salad had noticeably fresh leaves and cucumbers. The service is really great at this establishment. I ordered the beef and lamb combo with chickpeas. The meats were good. The chickpeas were very undercooked. They should be stewed, and these were not. I agree with another poster that the naan is likely not made on site, and sadly, I think that my piece was moldy! I threw it away and made some of the garlic naan I get from Trader Joe's. I was looking for a place close to home so as to avoid the drive to Arlington for Ravi kabob or Kabob Palace. Total disaster. Don't waster your money, go somewhere where you can eat authentic food. Falafel wrap was so typical, they don't make naan there, they use two frozen naan together and wrap Falafel who knows if it was even made fresh. Paneer Bowl is worst I have ever seen in my 20+ years in NOVA. Its pathetic, watery and has too much food color. This is the exact reason place like this do not survive. And icing on cake is naan, its FROZEN. We live only 2-3 min away from this place and we drove, once we placed order, we were told that 20 min wait, which means they are making it so we stayed there in store, yea right, the moment we grab our food and got home, the Paneer Bowl was cold which clearly tells me that this wasn't made there at all. And they charge almost $14 but quantity is lame. Stay away from this place and go other place near chantilly costco or fairfax, there are many. TOTAL disappointment.
