But didn't deny the wrongdoing when confronted. Tim the shop owner claimed that they did a relearn afterwards. But relearn is not the same as repair! The vacuum leak problem was totally ignored and the smoke test was not done. Tim insisted that I can safely drive with a bad oxygen sensor. Glad I didn't and God Bless AAA tow truck. Another shop corrected what WHAR neglected to do. Never again am I setting my foot in this shop and don't recommend it to anyone. I guess this shop knows how to take advantage of an elderly woman. UPDATE: four months ago (May 2025), this very shop did some work on my car and requested a positive review. I said OK but am unable to post it since I reviewed before and Google won't let me do it again. The shop then sent a link to my phone and I was able to post a positive review from a different gmail address. I am buffled how WHAR even knew my another gmail that I never told them about, and what else they know about me, and how they are going to use this knowledge. They aren't "pretty" or fancy, but Doug & Tony know their stuff. They will get to the bottom of the problem, and if they cannot fix it, will refer you to another reputable mechanic who can. (They do not do tires, exhaust systems, or transmissions) My favorite D&K story is when my friend took her car to them because her brakes were "spongey." When she returned to pick up her car at the end of the day, she was ready to pay for all new brakes, rotors, calipers, whatever. She was told "Ms. G, get your rugs out from under your brake pedal!" These White guys could have taken advantage of this single, Black woman and charged her an arm and a leg. There was "NO CHARGE!" I have been referring friends and colleagues to D&K for years.
