    Ohio City

The owner of this business, Yonis, presents well and appears to be a very nice guy, but clearly…read moregets in over his head and seems to regularly overpromise and underdeliver, especially on larger jobs. I personally had a very bad experience: I brought my car in back at the end of June 2022 to get a major automotive repair completed (a full engine replacement). I paid half of the quoted labor upfront and the full cost of the replacement engine, $3,300 in total. The owner did not provide any form of paperwork or receipt for the deposit, which was the first bad sign. The original mechanic working on my car quickly removed my old damaged engine within a day, but then quit the shop the next week. After that, my car sat for MONTHS without any progress being made. The owner allegedly purchased a working and compression-tested replacement engine, but did not show me the replacement engine or receipts. I showed up at the shop one day and I saw an engine had been taken apart that looked like my original engine. A new mechanic claimed it was the new replacement engine but then said it needed to be refreshed at a local machine shop. However, this machine shop just so happened to burn down to the ground with my replacement engine inside. Apparently neither the machine shop owner, or Ohio City Auto Repair had insurance to cover this loss. Yonis offered to get another cheaper engine for $1,000, but I did not see that as an acceptable resolution. Ultimately, I towed my car away without an engine and other parts they lost and I had to manage the job on my own. The owner claims he will refund me, but it is now January 2023 and I am still waiting to receive the remaining money for that refund. I should also mention, the owner is not good at calling/texting you back, or even being there at the shop. I visited the shop almost every week for the last several months, and he is often not there and sometimes the shop is completely empty with no one in sight. Over the last several months dealing with this situation, I believe I saw 3 or 4 new/different mechanics get hired and then leave. As you can see from the pictures, it is not a clean or organized shop either. The business is probably fine for an oil change, or brake replacement, but I would not recommend any major auto repair. It looked as though some of their other 1-star Google reviews are getting removed, so that is why I am also leaving a review here.

This place is an absolute joke and would never take a car there again. When you get it back you will be taking it to a real Mechanic to have them fix what Ohio city did wrong. Really wish I didn't have to right this review but they are non responsive once the car came back with issues. The warranty they offer is more like a tail light guarantee. Meaning once they can't see your tail lights when you leave good luck.

I was in and out in a few minutes getting a quick oil change, and he taught me a lot about what i should be looking for the next time i get my car tuned up. He was honest about the urgency about which things i should take care of sooner rather than later, and did not present any pressure on me to make extra changes that I did not expect during my check up. 10/10.

This is a terrible place to take your car for an oil change especially if you are an older woman…read morewith limited knowledge of how cars work. I took my car last Thursday to the Take 5 on Broadview Rd, in Broadview Hts Ohio for a simple oil change. The mechanic told me I need coolant added. I said OK because I was trusting and figured he wouldn't take advantage of an olderly women. I am 72 by the way. So, after agreeing to this service at the cost of $145.99 ,I woke up the next morning to find coolant all over my garage floor. I immediately took my car by the Take 5 and after examining my car he said that he had damaged a gasket while putting the coolant in and could not fix and directed me to call corporate after he called his boss. This happened April 23rd So, I did that and was told someone would get back to me in 4-6. What, 4-6 days, totally unacceptable! She said ,nothing else I could do. You mean to tell me that Take 5 has that many claims against them that it would take that long, with no one to talk to about a rental car or anything. In my frustration and research I was able to find out the district manager in charge of my case so I emailed him multiply times I still have heard nothing. Meanwhile my car is sitting in the driveway leaking coolant and I am not supposed to drive it. This the worst company and customer service I have ever come in to contact with. Do not go to any Take 5 Oil's !! I really hope the CEO of Take 5 who I think is this Marc Graham as well as Danny Rivera who owns Driven Brands who owns Take 5 all read this and make some changes. Your guys run a lousy business and should be ashamed of yourself for treating your customers in this way. I should have heard back immediately from someone,at least to acknowledge what your own mechanic admitted to. I see you have over 1,000.00 shops all over the country and the plight of one old lady in Ohio doesn't mean much to your bottom line, but watch out! Words spread on social media!
