The table near the front door was stacked with wrapping paper, boxes, Christmas cards, and all other sorts of Christmas paraphernalia. As I hung a right to go around the store counterclockwise, I saw more Christmas items for sale. Christmas trees, ornaments, lights, ornament hangers were all against the wall. Against the right wall are several bookcases filled with used books. Perusing the titles, I saw a lot of self-help and religious books. They also sell CDs here. But unlike the other thrift stores in town, the selection was almost exclusively classical music. CDs are $1 each. Further towards the back right corner of the store were bookshelves full of movies. They stock both VHS tapes and DVDs. I seem to recall DVDs were $2 unless priced otherwise. I saw some loose discs in the pile, and wondered if any of the multi-disc collections were missing a disc or two. When I got to the back wall, I saw a pile of board games. Again, I could not tell if the games were complete or if any pieces were missing. In the center of the store are racks and racks of clothes. I didn't look very carefully at that display. I went on to the housewares section, towards the front, on the left side. I saw a few things here and there I was tempted to buy, but took a pass. Eventually I left with an eyeglass case ($1), and a Pelican case I intended to use to store my car GPS ($2). The staff I met were friendly. Since Community Hospice Hope Chest Thrift Store is a non-profit, you aren't charged sales tax. What you see on the price tag is what you pay!

Great pricing. They have mark downs on certain colors. Found baby clothes for .75 cents.read more
