Terrible experience. Just signed up with him after we changed insurance coverage. Our son needed an urgent referral to specialist. Judy, the doctor's wife/assistant runs the office. Rude and obnoxious as can be. She delayed processing, then claimed that the insurance carrier denied the referral and that "they will never give you what you want." In reality, she was pushing for a referral to their "preferred" provider. When we insisted that she process the referral, she told us that we were rude and that the doctor would not be seeing our son anymore. Outrageous! read more

I've been taking my daughter here since she was 5, she is now 21 & doesn't want to leave lol! I just want to thank Dr. Goodman, Judy & Veronica for being so warm & really caring people. Adding to my previous review, after we left the office with our son's records, we got a call from the office. We were told that the new follow up X-ray films received are not clear. Moreover, they also told that the doctor spoke with radiologist who said that we have to re-do X-ray. We were really surprised and called the diagnostic center. The radiologist said that they have films and the films are just fine. The radiologist told that we can come to pick up the films. So we did. It has been 2 days since our visit and now our son can hardly sleep at night because of the increasing mucus and cough. Now the only option is to go to ER, because we could not change the doctor as the insurance company is closed on weekends. The bottom line is that the doctor refused to provide medical advise on a follow visit without any substantial reason to our son. In all the above, we are going to file a complaint to the Medical Board of CA on the quality of the care provided. read more

"We never take the liberty of cancelling an appointment, unless the patient has no insurance and opts not to pay for the visit." SO you say YOU did take the liberty to CANCEL the appointment. If you like I can upload the voicemail you left me. Again, I told you my son has insurance. Why would I opt to cancel the appointment KNOWING he has insurance? Especially after waiting so long for this appointment? You deliberately cancelled his appointment because I called you out on your rudeness and because I hung up on you, which I'm sure hurt your pride. Very professional. I DID NOT WANT THAT APPOINTMENT CANCELLED. I DID NOT ASK TO CANCEL THAT APPOINTMENT. I was left a message stating the appointment was cancelled because he didn't have insurance. Which is BULL because my SON HAS INSURANCE!! Which is it Maria? Was it cancelled because I opted to have it cancelled or was it because he "had no insurance"? Again, make up your mind. Had you been professional or given me the TIME to correct the issue and FIND OUT what happened NONE of this would have happened. I am not going to discuss this matter on yelp.com anymore. I am filing a complaint with the Medical Board of California. I am not going to reply to the continued insults on me. I guess that is another fake review. The most important thing here is that my son had undertreated pneumonia at the time of his follow-up visit which confirmed by another doctor based on the X-ray report from the radiologist. The doctor refused to see my seriously ill son just based on the fact that I refused to undress him completely just to weigh him when he had a fever. Moreover, after that I was publicly insulted by Office Manager when I insisted that my child needs to be seen the doctor. I was threatened by the police if I do not leave the office immediately. Nobody ever told that I can wait for the doctor. They demanded that I must leave the office immediately and look for another doctor. This is completely unacceptable for a doctor to abandon a patient after the beginning of the treatment without any substantial reason. I believe that the above constitutes sufficient grounds for the Medical Board to initiate an investigation. P.S.: The other doctor that I went to never told me that I should undress my child completely. He just weighed him in his clothes. We did not even have to discuss that with him. read more

My children ( my 7 year old daughter and almost 4 year old twin boy and girl) have been seen by Dr. Goodman from the day they were born. I feel truly blessed to have him in my children's lives. Any concern I have had has been a concern for him, too. I have complete confidence in anything and everything he tells me. He is not only knowledgeable but passionate about his job. I can call him at 3:00am to ask what to do about a cough and he will call me back. No matter what my children are experiencing, he calls me back! HE IS THE BEST DOCTOR, period!! There has never been nor will there ever be another Pediatrician like Dr. Goodman. My son was born with a slanted head and his ears weren't leveled. Dr. Goodman and Judy (the lovely woman who does everything for everybody in the office) called my insurance everyday trying to get an authorization for a helmet and their perseverance paid off. We got the helmet and now his head and ears are perfect. They understood my pain and worked harder than me to make sure my son got what he needed. This is just among the many, many things that Dr. Goodman has done for me and my children. I have recommended him to all of my friends and family and they feel the same way I do. Whenever someone asks who my pediatrician is, with confidence and pride I respond, Dr. Charles Goodman. I hope that he practices medicine for another hundred years so that my grand kids and great grand kids will be seen by him. "Tough times reveals true colors" I am so disappointed about Dr. Goodman's office. I like Dr Goodman, he has been my son's pediatrician for the last 12 years. When I moved, I even drive 20 miles to keep taking my son to his office but today I had a really bad moment because of them. I called to reschedule my son's appointment for his annual check up and vaccine till August or September because the number of covid-19 cases are really high this week and we are worry about our safety. They were rude and respond that we MUST go or we will have to look for another doctor and did not care about what I was trying to explain.. Really??? After all this time going to his office? I could not believed what the lady was saying. That only shows the lack of care about his patients or parents health. It is not right to obligate parents to go during pandemic and condition them to go in order to keep being accepted at their office even if it could affect parent's health. I am pro vaccine so that was not the problem here. I was trying to explain to them that we are high risk parents and we are staying-at-home for the last 3 months but I assuming they do not care about our health. REALLY DISAPPOINTED. I DO NOT RECOMMEND A DOCTOR THAT TREATS YOU THIS WAY. It is NOT right. Everything is good while you "follow their rules", otherwise they do not care about you. I always liked Dr. Goodman but now I can NOT feel the same way. I asked the lady If I could please talk to him directly but he did not even care to attend the call and he was there saying the lady what to tell me.. Very sad and disappointed. We feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Goodman! He has been our son's doctor since he was born and has helped us through some incredibly tough times. Our son needed to be in the NICU when he was a couple weeks old and Dr. Goodman faithfully visited, checked in, and followed up with his condition. Over the past 2 years we have had to see specialists which Dr. Goodman walked us through and provided excellent continuity of care. During every visit, he always knew exactly where my son was in his treatment and progress. He takes concerns to heart and has compassion for his patients and their (often worried) parents. We have had a couple of concerns about our son after hours. Dr. Goodman is exceptionally easy to get a hold of. In our experience, after leaving a message on his after-hours answering service, he has always gotten back to us within 5 minutes! We have always felt cared for and have always been treated respectfully by him and we couldn't have asked for a better doctor. Now that my wife is pregnant with our 2nd child, I feel at ease knowing that he or she will be in the caring hands of Dr. Goodman. read more

I just had to give an update 're my previous post of Dr. Goodman and his staff. Since my last post, I had another baby (now 4 children in total). Naturally, I again chose Dr. Goodman as her pediatrician as well. Let's Fast- forward 6 months for her well care visit/check up. Although she had been seen by Dr Goodman for her previous scheduled visits, he noticed something a lil off 're her progress. He (Dr. Goodman), immediately took action to get her seen by the necessary specialists and the testing that was needed for her diagnosis. I know that if it were not for Dr. Goodman and his wonderful caring staff, my daughter would not have received the attention that she so desperately needed! Although my baby is now almost 8 months and it has been just under 2 months from the initial discovery, my daughter is still being seen by the necessary specialists and we check in with Dr. Goodman as necessary. Judy (office manager), Veronica and Maria (both nurses) have all been wonderful and patient with me regarding her care with getting all the necessary paperwork and calls made. This is why I previous posted that it had been a no brainer for me to go with Dr. Goodman when I had my twins (now going on 4 years old), when he had already been such a great doctor to my now 14 year old son (which Dr. Goodman also took the necessary steps to get him seen by various specialists for his care throughout the years). This kind of care and attention to details is RARE in this day and age. All of my children see going to the doctor as a good thing and are never afraid, as everyone is super friendly, and the waiting room offers plenty to keep the little ones entertained! When you find a great doctor, you don't ever consider anyone else. Thank you to Dr. Goodman and Staff, as this mother is eternally grateful for such excellent care!!! read more

The two stars are for the staff and the appointment setting. The doctor is nice but it was borderline unethical to deny seeing my newborn and telling me to take him to urgent care instead. Even the urgent care staff couldn't believe that my child's assigned pediatrician would refuse to make me an appointment. I wasn't requesting a same day appointment either... and they had cancelled an appointment a couple weeks before. read more

My son Tribue has been seeing Dr goodman for over a year now . Dr Goodman and all of his staff are warm welcoming and incredibly helpful . They are on top of paperwork and schedule and more importantly my son loves everyone in the office . Dr Goodman has a every special way with children . He connects with them and you can see it with every interaction . Prime example of how they go out of their way for you . My first visit to the office , newborn baby , scattered mommy locked my wallet , keys, phone and the diaper bag in the car . LOL They let me use the phone to call AAA , gave me diapers and a quiet spot to breast feed the hungry baby :) I have recommended this office to every pregnant woman i know and will continue too !!!! read more

I have been taking my children to Dr. Goodman for 8 years now, both of which have a couple of chronic health issues, so I am in his office quite often. If it weren't for Dr. Goodman, I am not certain my children would have been correctly diagnosed as quickly and/or received the treatment they needed as efficiently and with such genuine care. As a mother, it can be scary when your children are not healthy, whether it is a chronic health issue or a common cold but Dr. Goodman has always put my mind at ease with his attentiveness and kindness as well as the quality of care he provides. With Dr. Goodman, I know my children are always receiving the best care there is and I just don't know what we would do without him. Also, kudos to his office staff for always getting us in for same day appointments when my children are ill and just a few days wait for routine care! Since I am being honest here, I feel compelled to mention that the office manager (I think her name is Maria?) does seem quite unhappy to be there and is unpleasant towards me every time I am there. She is not "mean" per se, but definitly not very nice, or courteous. I only need to see her to sign-in and get parking validated so I have and will continue to take my children there, but I just thought it should be mentioned since my above review about DR. GOODMAN is 100% genuine. Lastly, Judy is AMAZING. She gets referrals and authorizations for my kids done quickly, efficiently and is always so friendly! I love her! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this man and his office staff. He is the only pediattrician I have taken my two daughters to since birth (they are now 18 and 16 years old) and I trust him implicitly. He goes out of his way to explain options and what your choices are medically and what his recomendations are. I have never written a Dr. review on Yelp before and generally I am very skeptical of doctors and some of their advice. Not so with Dr. Goodman. He is educated, has a phenominal bedside manner and I believe he treats my children and looks after them as if they were his own. For me, as a new mom, and having been to another not-so-great pediatrician, all I really care about is the quality of care that is being given to my son. I've been going to this doctor since I was two weeks old, and he's been a great doctor the whole time. Now that I'm 17, Dr. Goodman has become a family friend and has always treated my family with respect and friendliness. As I get older, he treats me as a future adult and not a child. He's never been inappropriate with me or my family, but always sociable. Plus, Dr. Good man and his staff are always really nice about giving me my immunizations (which I am still nervous about to this day) and they've never misdiagnosed any illnesses I've had. Dr. Goodman is one of the best doctors there has ever been. I recently had to have emergency surgery and he came to see me everyday. His care and compassion is nothing like I have ever seen. Yes I work for home but before I became his employee I was his patients he has helped me through more then anything I could ever ask for. When I moved back to Los Angeles from Texas I needed a pediatrician for my children. It was by chance that I found him, I am so pleased with him as a physician and his fabulous office staff. There is a gorgeous salt water fish tank that my kids and I love to check out. My kids both really like Dr. Goodman, his bedside manor is without compare. I would recommend him to all. You do have to schedule physicals at least two months in advance, as he keeps appointments open for ill children in need of immediate care. I have been taking my oldest daughters to him for over 11 years. I started going to him in 2002 when he was in West Hills...My oldest daughter was only 2 years old. She had various different health issues and it was a very frustrating journey for me as a parent because all of the 5 different doctors that had seen her couldn't tell me what was wrong with her. I remember being at the grocery store and talking to my husband bout my recent visit to the 5th doctor and expressing my anger at how dismissive they were with me about my concerns about my daughters health. Standing behind me was a lady who's son was a patient of Dr. Goodman's, she told me she overheard my conversation and wanted me to give Dr. Goodman a try. I was so happy to hear all of the wonderful things she had to say about him that I decided to take my child to him. When I called the office they were very cordial and gave me an appointment for the next day. I took my child to Dr. Goodman expecting less than what I actually received. I was blown away from his demeanor and his character...he was so funny and goofy with my daughter that it automatically put her at ease. He took 10 min to get her to trust him..."NO DOCTOR DOES THAT!!!!" Usually they ask the mom or dad to hold there child down while the doctor exams the child....NOT DR. GOODMAN!!!!! HE IS SO AWESOME THAT HE GETS THE CHILD TO TRUST HIM BEFORE HE EXAMS THEM!!!! WHO DOES THAT????? All the other doctors made my daughter feel very nervous and scared. ONCE HE SAW MY DAUGHTER CONDITION HE IMMEDIATELY KNEW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH HER!!!!! He gave me the diagnosis and prescribed the type of medication and care she would need and in one week she was back to normal....I had the same experience with my 2nd child....you see she is not my biological daughter...her mother past when she was only 4 months old. I married her father/my 2nd husband when she was 3 years old...she had health concerns as well and my husband had been taking her to a group Pediatrician office so every time she would go a different doctor would see them...My husband would tell me that it would take 4 people to hold this little baby girl down so the doctor of the visit would examine her. They had diagnosed her with something that she didn't have and had her on med's that didn't work. I told my husband to allow me to take her to Dr. Goodman because of my my wonderful experiences with him...he agreed and I booked an appointment with him. The day of the appointment my husband was very nervous, he was sure that our 3 year old was going to start screaming at the top of her lungs he moment he walked in...well the moment came and when Dr. Goodman stepped in the room and when our daughter took a look at him he had the goofiest face...he was dancing and singing and acting silly for her....well immediately this little girl who was terrified of doctors started to laugh and bounce and clime all over him....it was hilarious...he was able to examine her and give her the CORRECT diagnosis!!!!!! well my daughter's are now 10 and 13 and THEY LOVE DR. GOODMAN!!!!
