I chose Dr. Goodman to be our kids' pediatrician when I was 6 months pregnant with our first child. My first daughter was not born yet as I was calling around and visiting a few doctors to choose an excellent pediatrician for our family... I called Dr. Goodman's office to inquire about Dr. Goodman and ultimately choose a great doctor for our children. Veronica answered the phone and very lovingly took the time to answer all of my questions I had... I felt like I mattered, that I was important, that my unborn child will be in excellent hands and that Dr. Goodman will always have time to care for our children, that Dr. Goodman will always be available for our children. Immediately after I hung up the phone, I decided right there and then that Dr. Goodman was going to be our kids' pediatrician! There was absolutely no need to call or visit any other doctor to compare and decide who we wanted to choose! It was that easy and pleasant... It has been 4 years now and within the past 4 years, we have had 3 children and Dr. Goodman has been our childrens' pediatrician since then, since 2010... We are so very happy that we have chosen Dr. Goodman to be our children's doctor! Dr. Goodman's knowledge, wisdom, caring soul, kindness, passion, dedication to the children's well being, love, and patience is uncomparable!!! He is truly one of a kind who takes his job seriously, and is always available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!!! I am truly thankful and feel blessed that Dr. Goodman is our pediatrician. First and for most I started see Dr. Goodman when I was 12 years old back in 1995. At that time in my little life i was going through hell. I had been molested by my 43 year old cousin. And was very depressed. I owe my life to doctor Goodman. Not only did he help me through all of that he helped me control my Seizure condition better then any other doctor before. I always felt safe and comfortable with him and his staff. I saw him frequently almost every 3 months to have my blood work checked and adjust my medications if needed. So needless to say when i had met my ex and started raising his 3 1/2 year old son i immediately called his office and started taking my stepson to him. He is the only doctor i have ever met/have that if i called him at 3am he called me right back with in minutes if not seconds. Shortly after my stepson started seeing Dr., Goodman i found out i was pregnant with my first child. so the only thing i thought of was that my son would be seeing him and since the day son was born 6 years ago he has seen Dr. Goodman as well as my second child my daughter who is now 4 years old. My Children have seen other doctors in the past because of my insurance being changed on accident and i and my children were unhappy. when i tell my children that they have a doctors appointment to see Dr. Goodman they both get very excited. The love him just as much as i do. and they love his staff as well . They all truly care and even so much that they know me and my family by name as soon as we walk in the door they say Hello Kelli to me and they say hello to my children as well by name. not only do the treat us great but when i have a problem with one of my children they all take the time and make the effort to make sure that my children get the best care that any and everyone deserves. My children will continue to see Dr. Goodman until they are 18 years old or god forbid Dr. Goodman closes his office. Anyone that knows anything about medical knows that when you take a child in to be seen they are asked to get undressed it gives the doctor a more acute result on there weight as well as if your child comes in with a high fever weather you take them to see d. Goodman or to the ER you will be asked to undress your child when anyone as a fever keeping clothing on just keeps the fever in. Dr. Goodman has been an amazing doctor! I have been going to this practice since I was 5 years old. I am a chronic asthmatic diagnosed with I was only five months. I have struggled to breath all of my life and the only way I was able to play sports was because of doctor Goodman, he has always encouraged me to do what I love. With his care I was able to regulate my asthma, allowing me to do cheerleading in elementary school, Dance team in elementary school, Softball in middle school, Volleyball and Basketball in middle school, to lead to me Dancing in high school, and participating on the El Camino Real High School Dance guard team for 3 years. I then entered college to continue in guard. Along with asthma I have fought obesity. With doctor Goodman's encouragement and guidance in the right direction, I have lost 100+ pounds in the last two years. Which (as he said it would) has helped tremendously with my asthma. Dr. Goodman has taken amazing care of me for 18 years now and he has helped me live with my disability. Along with last minute appointments, checking on me after a hospital visit, calling me in for immunization to make sure I do not get sick due to my weakened immune system. I would not be where I am without his practice. I have made it to age 23 and I just graduated last week from college with my AA in Humanities and Fine Arts. Although I have aged out of his practice, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Goodman to anyone who wants a provider for their child that is dedicated, genuine, hard-working, motived, driven, reliable and caring. I have been taking my 3 daughters to Dr. Goodman for the last 15 years. The older 2 are now 24 and 23. They REFUSE to leave Dr. Goodman's care. I have NEVER experienced rudeness in the office from anyone! I have only experienced a warm staff who puts their patients first and will do everything in their power to help them. As far as Dr. Goodman's bedside manners.... PROFFESIONAL!!!!! 100% ALWAYS!!!!!! He even has given my girls his personal cell phone number to call or text him. Which they use often I might add. Regardless of the day or time he ALWAYS responds! He has even made a few HOUSE CALLS to my home when my daughters were extremely ill or they had a questionable injury!!! When my youngest daughter was 14, and the multitude of answers to tests were impossible to understand let alone comprehend for a child of that age, Dr. Goodman was tireless in finding the cause of her illness. After 6 months of working with multiple doctors a diagnoses was made. All 3 of my girls are now on chemotherapy. None of them would be able to get through their medical issues without the support of Dr. Goodman. And I personally would not be able to navigate the Doctors, hospitals, institutions or insurance without the support of EVERYONE in his office! I love Dr. Goodman. My son has been sick back to back for over a year now and he has ALWAYS CALLED ME RIGHT BACK even at 3 am. A lot of you people on here are ridiculous acting like children fighting back and forth on his page. Dr. Goodman is a great doctor not only do I love him but so do many many others. Often I have been at bible study, or at the WIC office, or in line at the grocery store and the conversation comes up where they ask me who my sons pediatrician is I proudly say DR. Goodman and behold he is also their kids pediatrician. Jizzel's 2 kids for 10 years, the woman who works at WIC also says her daughter is 17 and has gone to him since she was 4-6 and they absolutely love him. He is goofy and makes the kids comfortable. I love the girls that work there too they are very friendly. My son gets sick he treats him, he answers the phone every time, and I don't have to wait to long. Stop with your bickering people if you have a problem go to another doctor don't jeopardize Dr. Goodman for the people who do love him and respect him as a good doctor act like the parent not like your kid for God sakes. Just last week I referred my client to the best pediatrician ever, Dr. Charles D. Goodman. "Where everybody knows your name..." When i found out our client was pregnant with her second child and has a 3 year old and searching for a pediatrician, I said you will Love Dr Goodman! I tell everyone about MY Doctor! My 5 children have been seeing Dr Goodman for the last 13 years since we've moved to LA . My children LOVE him. Dr Goodman, Judy & Maria have been like extended family to my now adult children who he has cared for for years. Dr Goodman has supported their careers and education by providing letters ofmrecommendation and excellent medical care treatment and prevention for my duaghter who is traveling out of country for 2 months. Dr. Goodman is a kind and caring soul that takes these children into his hearts. Be very careful how much credence (belief that something is true. : the quality of being believed or accepted as something true or real) you put into these reviews that do not show him in a good light. I know that the one patient was with Dr. Goodman for 13 years. He did not suddenly become a bad physician. He in fact saved the kids life since despite being cared for by at least two other physicians that did not diagnose him correctly, he did. He has been in practice since 1985 with no complaints that were verifiable and no law suits. This can be checked out on the California Medical Board. This Board has more weight than YELP that will take whatever anyone says and publish it. http://www.mbc.ca.gov/Breeze/License_Lookup.aspx So be careful in any review that you read and how much weight you give it. I have seen too many good places of business be affected by reviews, because those that do them do not have to be accountable. On YELP, you are guilty and can not prove your innocence if you are in the medical profession. Dr. Goodman would have a $25K fine in violating HIPAA to respond to people on line. If Yelp filters this it is just one more example of what you see and what you can believe. read more

We first met Dr. Goodman when he arrived to check our 1 day old baby in the hospital. We were impressed immediately with his caring and focus on our child - what a great bedside manner! That was over 17 years ago, and another child since then. Dr. Goodman lovingly helped us through every phase of caring for our children. Early on, it was constant communication and frequent visits for colds or ear infections. Of course, the many new parent calls at ALL hours with questions or concerns, and he always called us back and provided guidance. The few times we needed specialists over the years, Dr. Goodman and his office quickly arranged this. Often the specialists complimented Dr. Goodman on his ability to diagnose what tests and procedures were needed in advance so we could get the answers we needed. They seemed surprised that a pediatrician would be so knowledgeable! We were not surprised; he is so well educated and up to date on medical information. His total focus on the health and well being of our children has always come through so clearly. Our children love him for the fun and easy way he relates to them at every age. We love him because he has taken excellent care of our family! He is outstanding in his field and we highly recommend him. read more

My son has been going to Dr. Goodman since 2007. At the age of 2 my son started having ear problems. I'm a first time mom, I have called Dr. Goodman several times in the middle of the night & have received a call back within 10 minutes. He did extensive research in why my son was getting ear infections so often. Do to his research he found out they were being caused by his alleries. Dr. Goodman took my conserns very serious & has helped us keep them undercontrol. My son has been potty trained since the age of 2. Abouy 2 years ago he started having night accidents. I took him in to find out what was going on. A couple of test later reviled he has an over active bladder. Dr. Goodman allowed us to look over different options to try & treat without having to take any medication. He knew I would want to try different options before having him in on any sort of medicine. He has always shown concern in any situation. It never matters how small it may be. He treats all my concerns with importance. Whenever I have called regarding anything matters Maria the office manager has always been extremely helpful at all times. My daughter heard about this great Doctor through the grapevine, and what a caring, loving doctor he is. Now day's we all know how you are treated at a doctor's office. Like you are just a number, and they need to move on to the next one quick. So my daughter got an appointment with Dr. Goodman, and I went with her because, one I as the Nonna, take him to appointments while my daughter is at work, and two I need to make sure I like him too. When we arrived the office was set up so kid friendly, and the office staff was so nice. My grandson was so nervous to see the doctor, but as soon as Dr. Goodman walked in and started talking to him, he was laughing within a few minutes. Let me tell you he was very sick and that in it's self made me comfortable. After seeing my grandson, Dr Goodman had sent us next door for more test right away. Needless to say Dr. Goodman was right on with his diagnosis, and my grandson was better within a week. If you are looking for a new Doctor this man is truly a loving caring doctor. I have been going to Dr. Goodman for six years now, I have two girls 6 & 4 and he's been their doctor since birth! ! I wouldn't take my daughter's to anyone else he's an amazing/caring doctor and my daughter's love going to his office. One of my daughter has been little since birth they call it "failure to thrive" Dr. Goodman has been doing everything and trying everything to help my daughter sending her to all amazing specialists and even taking the time to read the charts that I would make of what she ate that week, you can't find that many doctors that would take the time to do what he does and he always does it with a smile:). I would recommend Dr. Goodman to anyone that is looking for a pediatrician and Dr. Goodman will be our family pediatrician for as long as we could go to him. I have two kids, one 15 and one 11 year old. Both have been seeing Dr. Goodman for over 10 years! We used to see him in West Hills and now we go to Northridge. HONESTLY, my kids would make me go to the end of the world for him. Dr. G is absolutely the best pediatrician in the entire SF valley! One of my kids has a VERY serious illness and MIGHT HAVE DIED without the amazing skill and knowledge of this doctor. She owes him her life. We were sent to a specialist right away. That doctor at CHLA told us we were lucky to have had Dr G as our pediatrician because many other doctors would have missed it. She said she never met him, but many times she has seen him pick up on problems that other doctors miss. He is always professional and respectful of me and my family. I saw one person say he was "flirty" and I think that parent sadly did not understand that he is just a very caring person and misinterpreted things. Five stars is not enough for this doctor! I always get appointments the same day too, except for check ups of course. I had to wait a while for those, but it was worth the wait. read more

Dr. Goodman is a great doctor, my three children have been going to Dr. Goodman for 6+ plus years. I have always had a pleasant experience, from not just Dr. Goodman, but the staff as well. Everyone always has a smile on their faces and they are very helpful. I recently had to call Dr. Goodman one evening, very late at night with an emergency, he called me right back and I mean right back, I barely had time to hang up the phone, he answered all of my questions and told me exactly what to do. He is one of the best pediatricians around. Dr. Goodman always makes me feel as if he cares about my kids and he doesn't try to rush you out, he sits and listens to you and helps with any questions or concerns that I may have. Dr. Goodman and his staff started taking care of my children in 1999. I now have three children ages 19, 16, and 14. Dr. Goodman and his wonderful staff have seen my children grow up, taken care of their illnesses and cared about their happiness and well-being during the last 15 years. They have seen me through stitches, pneumonia, common colds, allergies, vaccinations, a variety of illnesses, and my own personal paranoia. They have consistently demonstrated a caring disposition and patience with me and my children. Dr Goodman has been a great pediatrician, I ve known him since my grown up kids were little, and right now he is my little kids pediatrician, I ve never needed going somewhere else because he knows how to treat his patients, his knowledge has helped many people like me. In 2007 my daughter had appendicitis, after taking her to the hospital several times because they could find the reason of the pain she was suffering, I was refered to her pediatrician Dr Charles Goodman, thanks to her knowledge detected she was diyng because the infection, and immediately sent her to Northridge Hospital, and got all the paperwork ready for me to get her in the hospital to get surgery right away. I always say GOD BLESS DR GOODMAN, thanks to him I have enjoyed life with my daughter, and I trust him with my closed eyes because he knows his profession and it is a great doctor. I cannot put into words how much Dr. Goodman means to me and my family. From our first visit, we knew we were in good hands. In November of last year, my daughter had a very scary, but treatable issue. Dr. Goodman (and his staff) went above and beyond the call of duty and enabled us to get the emergency care we needed...fast! When we needed an urgent second opinion, Dr. Goodman did not hesitate to get us an immediate referral to Children's Hospital. This referral saved my daughter from a potential life threatening issue. The genuine warmth and compassion of this man has blown me away. He made himself available to me and my family 24 hours a day. I don't know how we would have gotten through that ordeal without him. Even now, long after she is fully recovered, I know he will be there for us if we need anything. I can honestly say that not only do I consider him the most caring doctor I have ever encountered, but I also consider him a friend. My daughter has been going to Dr. Goodman ever since she was three days old. We are truly blessed to have a Pediatrician who has such a great sense of humor and who adores children. My daughter was born with some issues and doctor Goodman was always available for any emergencies that have come up for her well being. She just had a 15 year old physical last Thursday. She is doing very well and still loves to be in doctor Goodman's care. He always makes the both of us laugh. He is very efficient and has a wonderful staff. I told my daughter that she only will see doctor Goodman for another few years because time is going so fast now that she is high school. "She said I hope my next doctor will be as great as doctor Goodman, he has always made me feel very comfortable and makes me laugh all the time, I will miss him when that time comes" I wish we could keep doctor Goodman forever, unfortunately children become adults very quickly.
