I bring both my kids here I was referred by my obgyn provider when I told him i didn't have a pediatrician for my son. I'm sooo happy he did she's by far one of the best drs I've ever met. Dr. Dafna is a great doctor--both for her young patients, and for the parents of the patients, as well. To the parents, she is always available--even when not in the office or on-call. She answers e-mails and Facebook messages promptly. She makes sure prescriptions are called in right away. She calls for lab work to be done, just to make sure that she covers all ground when caring for your child. She treats each parent respectfully, and does not treat your questions like they're silly. Dr. Dafna even calls you with updates during her off time, which is amazing since she's also a busy parent! For the patients, she earns their trust by speaking to them and asking their permission to give them a check-up. She tells them what she's going to do, and looks them straight in the eye. She never talks down to them, nor does she ignore them and speak only to the parent. Dr. Dafna is the first doctor to whom we took our infant son. She is warm and nurturing, and obviously likes children! She is thorough, dedicated, and competent. She worked hard with us to cure our son's difficult case of thrush, helps us to manage his acid reflux, and cured his conjunctivitis. I was optimistic when I called this practice and asked if this doctor worked with families who were wanting to find the right decision on whether or not to vaccinate their children or not. The staff informed me that Dr. Ahdoot did work with families who had chosen not to vaccinate so I made an appointment for a meet and greet. The staff is pretty friendly, the office is clean but simple and not snazzy. Dr. Ahdoot has a warm disposition and was very welcoming. She was running a few minutes late and I appreciated that the staff said she was on her way and would be with us shortly-which she was. The meeting was going very well as I was excited to hear that she was as available as she was - on cell, on email and seemed to be at our immediate disposal when we might need her which was all great. She also is newly pregnant which is also an asset as she is going through a process and an experience we were going through as we are also about to have our first child. She gave us a pen, toothbrush, mug and bandaids- all nice treats. I then presented a dilemma that we were in: I don't want to vaccinate and my husband does. I asked how she would support a family who was trying to find a solution for all involved. She immediately starting loudly clapping for my husband. This instantly turned both of us off. I was stunned actually as then she started to dive in and say that she only had four mothers who weren't vaccinating. She then said that she had worked hard to convince most of the families she worked with to vaccinate and many of them listened to her as she had won them over. I was wanting to find a doctor who would listen to our concerns, present the facts and then let us decide what would be best for us so I was really disappointed that she was so set in her views as it didn't feel like she really wanted to listen to my concerns or what might be best for us but instead she hung on to what worked best in her belief system. To me a good doctor is someone far more detached, less emotional and more clinical of the facts in these issues and someone who is committed to truly being of service to what best suits the patient. I am writing my concern as any doctor who is this set in her ways and will assertively and openly make others feel left out if they don't agree to me seems like someone who might not be objective enough to really support a family to find what is the best health care solution for all people involved. read more

Dr. Dafna herself deserves 5 stars. However, ,my whole experience with the office staff is what derserves the total rating. 3 months before my due date I was looking on yelp for a pediatrician. I found Dr Dafna and made it a point to call the office to make sure they took our medical group, health care partners, and to see how I can choose her to discharge us at the hospital once my baby was born. The front office lady SPECIFICALLY said that they do take health care partners. So once my baby was born I called Dr Dafna to come visit and to discharge us. She was only there for about 10 minutes and instructed us to see her two days later. My husband and I go to her office and thats when the lady in the front says they do take health care partners but its on call for another doctor that works in the same office with Dr Dafna. So since we were already there my husband and I paid 70 dollars to visit her instead of our copay that would have been 50. What really upset me is that 3 days later I get a bill from this office for 200 dollars when Dr Dafna came and visited my baby at the hospital to discharge him. Her office is literally across the street from the Tarzana hospital where I delivered. She was there for only 10 minutes and it was her staff that informed me initally that they took health care partners. Trust me! I went through hell to have my gyno, dr torbati, whom I adore, be my doctor under health care partners. So i made it a point 3 months before my due date that Dr DAFNA took my medical group. 200 dollars, when you have a newborn is A LOT OF MONEY, AND that could have gone to daycare once I go back to work. Her office staff is rude, not organized, it takes forever for them to answer your phone call to schedule an appointment. I think if Dr Dafna had a better office staff and not work with so many other doctors in one office, she would have a lot more clients... read more

Our former pediatrician quickly diagnosed my 2 month old son with GERD, without any further explanation, no sympathy, no advice, no help at all. I was terrified as a new, young mother. My son had not slept much at all, was in severe pain and constantly vomiting. From the recommendation of a doula and my ob-gyn, I met with Dr. Dafna who made a same day appointment to meet with us, spend a lot of time with us, immediately reached out to a pediatric specialist, prescribed my son with the correct medication, and followed up with us in a very timely and extremely thorough manner throughout this extremely scary and overwhelming time in our lives.
