Update to my previous review: No need to wait for a text to enter, you can just walk in and masks are optional for both patrons and employees. Partitions have been taken down also. They have reverted to their previous tip policy, cash. They no longer allow you to put the tip on your credit card. In a world where cash is rarely used, I find this inconvenient as I don't usually have cash on hand and when I do, it is less than the amount I would tip so now I need to make a special trip to the ATM and then find 5's and 1's. I understand it costs the salon a bit more to process, but I also feel a top line salon should offer top line service in every aspect, which includes ease of payment and minimizing client inconvenience. I will look into using paypal, but that will also be dependent on the hair stylist having a paypal account as well as their comfort in using it. I am still very happy with the quality of my color, it lasts and does not dry out my hair or quickly fade, even in the Plymouth sun! Every part of my experience was excellent! Julie booked me with Leah because of my curly hair. She made a wonderful first impression on the phone. They took me as soon as I texted them upon arrival. If anyone is looking for a great massage, go see Carla at Charles David at the Pinehills in Plymouth. I went to Carla about 5 months ago with chronic upper back pain. Carla really listened to me and focused on the areas I had pain. She is a very compassionate massage therapist. I can state that after years of being in pain, I am pain free now. My back has not felt this good in years. If you have any type of issues, you owe it to yourself to go see Carla. She is very knowledgeable about the body. I can not say enough about this salon. I found Carla because I get my hair done there. Shannon is a great stylist there. I love what she does with the color of my hair. I get many compliments!! Leah and Danielle and Kelsey are great as well! Sam and Meg are awesome for manicure and pedicures!! The staff in the salon are so great! Went to new location in Plymouth, told them I had a gift certificate, receptionist asked if price mattered, I thought this was odd for a haircut. At first said no, then figured if your asking must be high was told $80. I said ok cause of the certificate. Hair cut was great, stylist pleasant. Obviously, won't go back $80 is a little high for a basic haircut. But they did tell me it came with a shampoo and styling! read more

My first experience yesterday in this salon was a 5 star rating. Krissy , the receptionist was extremely welcoming so I felt comfortable right from the start. Then she introduced me to my hairstylist Laura. Laura sat and gave me a consultation for about 15 minutes. I greatly appreciated the time she took to get to know me. I could tell that she understood what look I was going for. Then Laura shampooed my hair, giving me a much needed head and forehead massage while doing so...heavenly! Well, I must say that I received one of the best hair cuts I have had in my 63 years !! It is edgy, stylish, youthful and easy to maintain. I have been coming to this salon since last summer. I usually have Daniel who is AMAZING, talented with color and super personable. Every time I come into the salon everyone is so nice and welcoming. I usually have to bring my 6 year old daughter which is never easy but they treat her AMAZING! The staff is super patient and loving! The girls at the front desk are knowledgeable and strive to make every appointment memorable and they do! This last visit I booked to have an all over color and cut! I wanted something different and fresh and was honestly having a hard time explaining what I wanted. I couldn't get an appointment with Daniel since I did book a little late but I did get an appointment with Leah. I went in two days prior to explain what I wanted and the outcome was everything I wanted and more! I booked my daughters cut with her at the same time as my cut and color and she also had a blast being at the big girl salon and was treated like a princess! I am OBSESSED with how my hair came out! I have been a long time client at Charles David (over 16 years!) Because of my lack of organization and planning ahead, I have seen many stylists over the years: Heather B., Michelle M., Kelly B., Kayla N. and a few others over the years. Each and every one of them are top notch stylists/professionals. They are extremely knowledgeable, creative artists, who are also very kind. I have a LOT of thick, curly hair which is time consuming and tricky to work with. They continually exceed my expectations and I always leave feeling better than when I went in. The salon is beautiful, reception is always helpful and polite. Each time I come back, I feel as though I am visiting good friends/family. I would give Charles David Salon in Hanover, more than 5 stars if I could. I highly recommend them, you won't be disappointed. Book today! read more

Unfortunately, I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My mother and I called this salon in May to try and book a September 30 wedding trial and were prepared to book hair and makeup the for the entire bridal party, and mothers and grandmothers of both bride and groom 5 months in advance. However, upon calling, the woman who answered was very rude and unhelpful. We asked for a manger. When I explained what we were looking for, we were told that the store could not accommodate us in any way (due to not enough staff in store), and that the only thing we would be able to do on the day of the wedding would be to drive 35-40 mins out of our way to a separate location. We asked if we could pay to have the staff travel to us, or if they could do anything to increase staff for that day and the store refused. Not only were they rude, they were completely apathetic, even when we offered an increased price. We finished the conversation frustrated and put off, and I would not recommend. read more

We live in Florida but have rented a house on the beach for the month of Sept. are from Duxbury originally & had our own skin care clinic in the 80's in Duxbury. I called at 10 this morning to get a pedicure & was told to be there at noon. I drove 20 min. to the spa in The Pine Hills only to be told that my appt. did not get put in the book & to come back at 1:45!!!! Totally unacceptable!!! read more

Buddy and David, owners of the salon and three others, have worked to create a really comfortable atmosphere for both their employees and clients. Went to newer location on Long Pond Road. Just went in for a wash, cut and blow dry. Julie was great! My hair turned out perfect. She put some products on after blowing it out that made my hair silky smooth. Nice environment, helpful, friendly staff. I have been going to high end salons in Boston for years but decided to try to stay local, but it didn't work out here. The prices are the same as in Boston and the expertise is no where near as high. I found the receptionists to be a bit distracted and not sufficiently customer service oriented. I arrived for my final appointment there last year and was told that the hair stylist was running late and they couldn't estimate when she would be ready for me. I went outside to use my cell phone to do business while waiting and they said that they would fetch me when she was ready. When I went back into the salon 15 minutes later, they said that no one could find me outside and that the stylist had already started working on her next appointment who had arrived 30 minutes early. I was told that I could wait about an hour or so and then be taken! No apologies, no comp service offered....I left and will never refer business to them. I walking around the Pinehills Village Green Shops for a holiday happening and found myself gravitating towards the Charles David Salon windows. The atmosphere was one of merriment and when I peeked in I saw a massage chair set up. When I entered, the scents of cleanliness and beauty took over and I was set into a pleasant mood. I glad sat for a chair massage by the amazing Michele Wilgoren, who treated me well despite knowing that I'm not a resident of Pinehills, not a frequent visitor to Plymouth. She asked about pressure, adjusted accordingly if needed. She focused on my area of concern, but also spent sufficient time on the rest of my back, neck, arms and legs. It was the fullest body chair massage I've ever received. Most certainly if I were to find myself in that direction and in need of a massage, I would want her card on hand. I was excited when I heard my superb hair stylist, Shannon, added the Plymouth location to her Charles David appointments, but today I decided to use a gift certificate to try one of the other salon services. I booked an appointment for a massage with Michelle, and was surprised she had an opening later in the day. Now that I've had a session with her, I am amazed she has any openings and its obvious the word just hasn't gotten out. Being someone who has had fairly regular massages over the past 2 decades in the U.S. and abroad, I feel I'm a good judge of massage services. I would rank Michelle as one of the best massage therapists I've been to... not to mention the amount of time she spent on me without cutting the hour for 'set up' time. I honestly thought, at one point, the front desk made an error by booking me for 90 minutes. The session rate is not only reasonably priced, you really get more than what you pay for with all the extras Michelle provides within the session, like hot rocks, aroma therapy and hot towels. The room is beautiful and no comfort is spare. She is knowledgeable, professional and I was so grateful that she didn't chat during the session and just allowed me to be the pampered client. So, if you're fortunate enough to live in Plymouth and at all close to this relatively new salon.. make the time to discover what they offer and you'll consider yourself fortunate to have a salon of this caliber offered in this area. read more
