After booking, they never showed up and ignored my message when asking if they were going to show up (late at this point) to our scheduled appointment. No response, but he did read my message! Highly recommend! I needed large neglected oaks and an elm trimmed, one tree removed and a lemon tree transplanted. He and his crew came in, got right to work and got it all done in one day. They even had to access my neighbors yard and took measures to ensure their house was protected. They cleaned up all of the mess and only left behind the logs for firewood that I requested. He was not the cheapest estimate but far from the highest. I found his prices to be very fair, very good deal for the work being done. read more

Just had Charles and his crew out to prune an overgrown guava tree, and they did an awesome job! Super nice guys, showed up right on time, worked super efficiently, really knew what they were doing, and even cleaned up every bit of debris afterward and left the yard spotless. These guys we're quick to respond for the bid and all text messages, on time, plus super courteous! They cleaned up well, even brought up trash cans from street after trash pick up. No job is too small for Charles Gilbert! I requested a quote via Yelp, and Charles Gilbert was one of several businesses Yelp helped me put in a request for. I took pictures of the stumps I needed removing from my little patio yard, and Charles Gilbert gave me a quote and told me if his team damaged my sprinklers (which were really close to the stumps), then they would fix it, no problem. I'm glad he mentioned that, whereas other companies didn't and some even said that they weren't responsible for damaging my sprinkler system. Charles Gilbert is also fully licensed (his Yelp business page doesn't show this but if you ask him, he'll provide it), and it looks like the link to his actual webpage hasn't been updated (Yelp link points to a different/outdated page). Overall, his quote wasn't the cheapest, but you really do get what you paid for. I'm so glad I went with him - and his guys did actually damage one of my sprinklers (which he had tools and materials on him to fix right away)! He even told me what type of tree stump it was (an ash tree), and how they grow super fast in one year. The owner never contacted me on why he didn't show up to our set appointment today. So I live in a historic district office f Pomona and the city warned me about maintaining my two large elm trees. So I sent out a job posting on yelp. I received 10 messages. Of the 10 Charles was the only one to come out the same day. Very polite and very knowledgeable. Told me what he was gonna do and He gave me a quote. He also provided me with a copy of his own insurance policy. Throughout the week I received 6 more quotes. All which were $500-$1000 MORE then what Charles quoted me. The day he was supposed to come it rained heavily. He contacted me right away and notified me that he would be unable to work due to weather conditions. He said he would try again the next day. The showed up at 8am the next day. They started the first tree, but just as they were getting ready to start the 2nd the rain started again. They cleaned the entire yard in the rain before they left. Charles said he would try again the next day. It rained the next two days. He called each day to keep us informed. He came the third day finished the job. He cleared the roof of debris, cleared the yard, and driveway. A true professional. When the time comes to trim them again he will be our first call! read more

Charles is the go to guy for trees. The quote that he provided in the previous week could not be beat. The services that he provided were top notch. His crew arrived on time on the date that was agreed to. Originally, I only wanted 1 tree removed, but Chuck was more than happy to also remove a smaller tree that was not quoted. He gave me a verbal quote for the smaller tree, which I agreed to. He and his crew were more than enthusiastic about the job, and they wasted no time to get prepared and start the job. Charles ('Chuck") was very knowledgeable about the process of cutting the trees and made quick work of getting up the tree and working on the process of when to cut each branch. His experience and knowledge could be seen in the steps that were taken to cut the tree, from using which saw to use, and to how to secure the branches with rope (for security and safety..to prevent damage to property and personnel on the ground). They did the job in a reasonable amount of time, and left my property looking better than when they arrived. The stump grinding was done a couple days later from cutting the tree, but I had no problem with having Chuck come back to take out the stumps. Chuck was flexible with what I wanted done. Chuck and his team did an awesome job! Many of my neighbors have complimented me on my choice of who cut my trees.
