While they were not the cheapest nor the highest, they listened and communicated as well as any contractor even went beyond what was promised - that does not happen in today's world. While it took them a day or two longer to get started (mostly because of heavy rain), they worked incredibly hard and made any problems become their problem and not mine. We came across added rot and gave me a very fair price to fix the problem. A deck costs a small fortune to replace these days, Emerson came to save the day! They even power washed and collected all the debris. I used many contractors over the years. You should make a point to consider hiring them. You won't be sorry.

I had to initiate a formal hearing brought against Harbor Homes with MA State Board of Licensing. The licensing board found unsatisfactory business practices and assessed fines against them. Just a few problems to mention; crooked moldings, plumbing and electrical issues, multiple Floods, tiling issues, splitting of floors and woodwork. Horrible horrible craftsmanship. Bottom line there was no supervision at all. Never the same subs. Absolutely no pride taken in their work. Harbor homes put a wooden tent sign on our yard for advertising. Somehow it fell over and sat in the mud for over six months. That says it all. We have started a support group for irate hh customers who have all had the same experiences with these people. Never have we seen such dishonest, immoral, disrespectful and unprofessional people. None of us can figure out how they stay in business. Do not use them!!!!! Highly dishonest, but worse, horrible builders!!!

After meeting with a couple of designers and contractors, I knew John was the one I was going with. From the earliest stages of the project he was prompt, extremely organized and best of all, attentive to what I actually wanted. John and I worked to design my dream kitchen within our budget and he returned with a binder with renderings and detailing every step of the process (all before I actually signed my contract with him). This was important as the project was to be started and completed during our absence from the Cape during the winter months. I made several additions and changes along the way and even decided to have him renovate our 1/2 bath while he was working here, as well as build a hall entry area. John was in touch throughout the entire project, sending pictures frequently and communicating whenever there were choices or issues to discuss. My husband and I returned to the Cape in late May to the completed kitchen, 1/2 bath, and entryway and they were everything I'd planned and envisioned.
