I wanted to update my review. Initially, I gave a 3-star rating, and the business owner, Kara, naturally reached out to discuss our concerns and see how she could address them. This seemed fair and normal. However, when we tried to arrange a follow-up meeting, Kara refused to meet with just my husband and me. She insisted on including her entire team in the feedback session. We felt it would be more appropriate and comfortable to provide our feedback directly to her, with the understanding that she could then relay it to her team. During numerous email discussions, Kara made excuses for every issue we raised and essentially blamed us for the shortcomings of our wedding planner. Because of that, I cannot recommend Aloha Wedding Planning Services. Although Veronica, our planner, was lovely and personable, the service we received on our wedding day did not reflect a 5-star experience. Given that we paid $4,000, I expected much higher quality. If the cost had been lower, I can confidently say I would not have been as upset by the small details that didn't go perfectly. read more

Trust me when I say Your Aloha Wedding deserves each an every 5 star review on this page, but more stars!! I'd give them a rating of all the stars in the Maui night sky if that was possible. :) My husband and I just renewed our vows on the beach in Kapalua in celebration of our 25th anniversary. We are in California so we needed help with coordinating the perfect, for us, renewal. Working with Kara and Calyn over email was the most efficient and simple planning EVER! Emails were responded to within a day most of the time and if it was longer it was on my end of not deciding between type of flowers or which outstanding officiant to use. Kara and Calyn truly know what they are doing and seem to work with everyone on the island. We chose Robert for our officiant of a non religious Hawaiian ceremony with a lei exchange. Flowers for leis and bouquet by Bella Blooms and Photography by Michael Hannig. We wanted simple, but the ladies asked about every detail from do we want a ceremony cake to hair and make up and every little thing in between. They are truly amazing. Where do I even start with YAWC? We started working with Veronica at the very beginning of Covid. I think March or April 2020. We chose YAWC after they came highly recommended by a venue we were interested in and after doing a ton of wedding coordination research. Veronica was super responsive from the very start. We quickly chose a May 2021 wedding date and hit the ground running. Planning a wedding during Covid was stressful enough, but Veronica never missed a beat. Come the end of 2020, my fiancé and I ended up getting pregnant and our due date was just a couple weeks before our planned wedding date. We contacted Veronica about needing to push the wedding out, and she was so understanding. She quickly contacted all of our vendors and within a couple weeks, all our vendors were confirmed for our new date. It was so seamless, and we didn't lose a dime shockingly. Another hiccup came when about 6 months out from our wedding, our original caterer ghosted us. We had paid this particular vendor in full for both bar and catering service. I know Veronica tried to avoid worrying us, and she went to great lengths to contact the business. After a lot of work on her part, she got ahold of the business owner and got all our funds back after they confirmed they would not be doing catering at all anymore. We had a new caterer coordinated within days (who was amazing by the way). Veronica met with us a few months before our wedding when we visited Maui. She was not only so sweet to me and my husband, but also our two kids who were always with us. Our wedding day was amazing. I never worried about a thing on my big day. She was always there to answer questions. I think what I loved most was she never pressured us into anything. They obviously get paid a percentage of the total amount of vendors/services they book for us. But even so, when something seemed more than what we wanted to spent, she understood. Kara and her team at Your Aloha Wedding delivered the day of our DREAMS! We could not have asked for a better day, or a better planning process. We initially interviewed 3 wedding planning companies when we started our wedding planning process. Literally, in the first 5 minutes of the conversation with Kara, I pointed to the phone and whispered to my fiancé "WE NEED TO HIRE HER!!" I was so impressed with Kara from the first conversation, that hiring them was the easiest decision of the entire process! From the beginning, she was communicative, prompt in her responses, organized, and made the planning process so much fun! We planned the wedding over the course of a year, so nothing ever felt rushed or hurried. I was able to take my time and really think about my options to make my decisions. When wedding week arrived, Kara was communicating with us as soon as we arrived on Maui. She ran the wedding rehearsal with ease and made my family and friends feel so comfortable. On the big day, she worked tirelessly all morning to make sure my venue looked perfect--and WOW! I walked into the chapel and my jaw dropped. Everything looked stunning and I couldn't believe it was all for us! She made sure the wedding ran right on time, and made sure the day flowed nicely. Kara and Calyn did a great job making our 25th wedding anniversary easy and convenient. I've been so busy with work it was hard to do all the planning for our intimate vow renewal. They consistently stayed on top of things and were very helpful on suggestions. I went in thinking this was gonna be an awkward beach event to feeling like everything was gonna be easy and to forget the details which is what your supposed to do on your wedding day! They took care of all the technicals and we just showed up and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and had our way with the beach. Btw be aware beaches are not 'booked' meaning you share beaches with others like photographers and other parties and the public, but everyone was accommodating and careful to not impact our event out of common courtesy and even turned down the reggae so we could have our ceremony without us having to ask. We could not be happier about our experience with Veronica! Living in Ohio, we were a little nervous about planning our wedding so far away, but the process could not have been easier. Veronica was extremely attentive to detail from the moment we started planning. Our weekly emails were always very informative, yet not overwhelming. Veronica provided helpful suggestions on everything from venues and vendors to places to stay and things to do. She was always timely and efficient with her communication, and a wealth of knowledge. It is not easy picking vendors that you have never met, but luckily Veronica seemed to know all of them on a personal level. She was great about talking things through with us in some of our more indecisive moments and was always very honest with her suggestions. We even set up a few Zoom calls, despite a 6 hours time difference, to go through some of the more detailed steps of the process. She helped with some budget decisions when our guest count became double what we were originally anticipating, and we were able to make payments through Venmo which was so easy! Veronica also allowed us to ship some of our decor out a month early. She let us know the moment it arrived and brought it to us the day of the rehearsal to go over our setup for the next day. I'm sure I missed half of the things our coordinators did the day of the wedding, but everything was stress-free, flawless, and stunning! We did absolutely nothing except enjoy our day. I reached out to a few planners and Kara was the first and fastest to respond to me (I think within a day)- after a phone conversation we were sold and booked her to manage our special day. The whole process was the opposite of what you hear from many brides about planning a wedding- I felt pretty much zero stress as Kara handled everything and was so responsive and organized I trusted her completely. I miss our almost daily emails too-it became such a big part of my life for a chunk of this year. We can't say enough about how great it was to work with Kara. Since we had a destination wedding it was important for us to find a wedding coordinator that was knowledgeable about the vendors in Maui and easy to work with. Although most people probably don't do this we actually flew to Maui a year in advance to meet with multiple wedding coordinators. We arranged to meet with 4 different coordinators - Kara was our 3rd meeting. During our meeting Kara was friendly(always smiling), knowledgeable and very flexible. One of the other coordinators we met with started off with : "This is how I see your wedding taking place...". In contrast Kara listened to what we wanted in our wedding and even arranged and gave us a tour of a couple of venues for our future wedding. All of this convinced us that Kara was the coordinator for us and we cancelled our meeting with the 4th coordinator. Once back home we worked primarily over email with Kara due to our hectic schedules. Kara was always responsive and it was very easy to work with her. She made recommendations on vendors and gave us a lot of ideas on what we could do with our wedding. Once we made a decision she made it happen - Kara never rushed us and was very patient. Very admirable considering it took us a a couple of weeks sometimes to respond. She planned for things very well and gave us ample time to decide. Kara recommended a great hawaiian reggae band, duo of musicians for the reception time and a great performance troupe (hawaiian dancers and fire knife dancers). It was definitely a big hit as everyone kept complimenting them. We asked for some one offs like cake from Bev Gannons (even though they don't advertise making wedding cakes) and Kara made it happen. She worked with Three's Catering to make sure our menu was to our liking and that everything was good. I could go on and on but the point of my review is that Kara was easy to work with, she knew her stuff, catered to our needs, and she made everything happen. She went above and beyond and even took care of some special requests of ours which was great! I'm a little late on writing my review, but nonetheless it absolutely needs to be said. Kara and her team were absolutely amazing!! I can't say enough, how easy and stress free they made the planning process. My husband and I live in Northern California and knew we would need to someone to help with the planning process in Maui, especially with trying to navigate all of the Covid restrictions in place. Kara was simply incredible to work with. From our daily and weekly emails, she couldn't have made it easier unless I gave her free reign over every decision. From covid restrictions to being an all star in navigating a last minute venue change (we're talking a full venue change 6 days before the wedding, because of a venue not playing nice with covid restrictions) she made it all seem like an absolute breeze. She already had another venue lined up when she called me with the bad news, but honestly it couldn't have worked out any better. The entire day was beautiful and a day we will never forget. I cannot provide enough praise to Kara and her team of vendors. While I know several recent and upcoming wedding celebrations had similar situations to mine and my husbands, I never for a second doubted that Kara made us a priority. David and I had gotten engaged pre-pandemic and booked our "original" wedding for September of 2020. During our year of planning with Kara, our plans abruptly shifted 30 days prior to expecting to say I do in Maui. With all of the uncertainty from covid, and the restrictions in Maui, we ended up having to postpone our Maui celebration. Kara immediately provided us new dates and ensure all our vendors were available. The communication through the uncertainty, the time Kara took to understand mine and David's wants in our celebration, and the level of comfort she consistently provided throughout the last two years was a huge reason I made it through with a smile on my face.
