My husband was under the care of Dr Sarabi for AFIB as well as heart failure. He recently had…read moreablation for his AFIB but was hospitalized for an unrelated infection for 4 days. In the hospital the ER as well as the attending doctors decided to scale back on two of his heart medications because his bp and heart rate were too low. We were told up to follow up with his cardiologist as soon as possible upon release to review meds and adjust dosage. We contacted Dr Sarabis office as soon as he was released. Left messages two days in a row. When the office called back, I relayed what the instructions were and asked if we could do a phone consult or in person so we know what to do. The office told us to wait until our next appt which was in almost three weeks. The only possible way to speak to dr Sarabi earlier is to subscribe to his concierge program for $4900. When I asked her what were we supposed to do for 3 weeks about his medication, she says just to continue as we had in the hospital. She mentioned he could see us the same day if we would pay the $4900. We have always used our blue cross ppo during our dr visits and never come across a situation like this. Needless to say, we will not be returning as his patients.

I am at an age where I see a lot of doctors. Within moments after checking in with the front office…read morestaff, I can usually predict whether I will feel comfortable with this doctor. Sometimes, as in this case, I override my intuition and try to make the best of it. Dr Sarabi's front office staff functions as his gate keepers. Their job is to isolate the doctor from contact with his patients. They perform their duties with military efficiency. Not a word is wasted on pleasantries, politeness, or any obvious concern about the patient's health. Dr Sarabi's preferred method of communicating is not by spending time in the exam room talking to his patient. It's a video call form the safety and privacy of his office. I had a medical emergency recently. My wife called the paramedics and, after spending the night in hospital, I thanked my wife and all the terrific caring professionals who treated my symptoms - from the paramedics to the hospital staff. I sent Dr Sarabi an E-Mail describing my medical emergency, which happened to be a condition that he had been treating for, asking him to prescribe a different BP med. No response. I called the next day and I was told by the gate keepers the doctor was very busy, and he would see me at our next scheduled office visit - SEVEN WEEKS LATER! This is not the response I expected, so I immediately found a more caring Cardiologist.
