From the day we moved in, our experience has been disappointing. We've submitted multiple maintenance requests that have either gone unanswered or been marked as completed without anyone ever coming to our home. One of the most concerning issues is a large hole our neighbor's dog dug under the fence, allowing it access to our backyard. I was told they would "look into it, and call me back" but I never received a follow-up. Despite multiple calls, voicemails, and an online work order, the issue remains unresolved weeks later. We also reported an unbalanced ceiling fan that appears unsafe to use. After waiting over two months, I received a notification stating the repair had been completed, even though no one ever came to inspect or fix it. Communication has been extremely poor. Calls are rarely returned, voicemails go unanswered, and it feels nearly impossible to get a response from maintenance, the tenant coordinator, or Property Manager Melisa Day. Another frustration is that because these are new construction townhomes, tenants are expected to coordinate directly with vendors for certain repairs. That responsibility should fall on property management, not the tenant. To make matters worse, there is a significant gnat infestation. Despite paying for private pest control every two months and purchasing Zevo traps at my own expense, the problem persists. After speaking with several neighbors, I learned this is a community-wide issue. My experience has left me feeling that once the lease is signed, tenant concerns are no longer a priority. If you are considering renting here, I encourage you to carefully research the property before making your decision. ( we are very clean people three of those zevos have been there for 5 days, one I just changed yesterday.)

I needed to make a name change as she remarried . I was told I had to drive to Houston (3 hours away) to make my mother's name change, and bring her marriage license and her financial power of attorney as I had to start managing finances. In Houston 1 person was in the office. I gave him all the documents , he photocopied them but seemed a bit distracted talking to someone who was not a client and came to visit. He gave us a paper that needed to be notarized and gave us directions for a mailing, packaging center that had a notary public. I asked wasn't this something that could be done in office. He said it was a Friday and he was the only one in that day and was not a notary, which Schwab should have taken the time to make him one if he was going to be alone in the office . The office was very large so I can't imagine everyone took the day off at the same time but yes they did. Later on I sold shares and asked for the check to be mailed as I could not transfer it to her bank as it was not listed as a choice. No representative could figure out why OR talked to any supervisor to have their IT people look into it. I needed the money to pay her rent, a representative told me he could overnight the check even though it was a Friday. The next day check did not arrive, Monday it did not arrive. Finally Tuesday it arrived but with the wrong name ( we did make the name change). Of course the bank would not accept the check as her first name was the only match to her account.When I called the representative number they did not have the necessary paperwork for the name change... thanks Houston office that's why I drove 3 hours. I mailed in the information ( again) and turn around was 14 days. By that time I took money out of my personal account to cover her rent. The rep told me they would put a stop payment on the check with the wrong name. I went into the office thinking in person would help with this transaction. The man who assisted me was very courteous but said the amount he saw in the computer was not the same i quoted as her available monies for withdrawal. He said it showed money was taken out, the exact same amount as the wrong name check with the stop payment I received. I told him there was a stop payment which he did not see because the previous rep did not enter the phone call details I imagine.Luckily the check was in my wallet to show it had never been cashed otherwise she would have been out of $7,000 dollars. This front desk gentleman told me he could do a wire transfer which I agreed to. He kept telling me he wasn't familiar with the form and possibly it was not the correct form to use and wasn't sure if the transaction would go through. Again no one in the office to assist him with this question. At this time I felt this was a ploy from Schwab to keep me from getting the money for my mother, because so many wrong answers , poor attention to detail, personnel not knowing the correct form to use .. it was so frustrating!!! I did finally transfer money into another bank account of hers that was listed in the site . The rest Of her money still is in Charles Schwab because now I will just transfer it into another bank account then transfer again into the correct bank. So it seems everything is fine until you want to sell shares and get money.

During the initial call the rep was not very engaging or interested . . I thought let me give them one more shot. I cancel my appointment and NOPE not one follow up call or email. So obviously, this place is only looking for big fish . . . how can I rely on someone to take care of my dollars when they don't' care to handle my pennies? Lesson . . don't judge a guy in cargo shorts and t-shirt, I am willing to bet many of them make and have way more money than guys rolling in leased Mercedes and in debt to their eyeballs. The most serious issue involved an admitted oversight related to projected tax liability for 2026 (something I didn't ask for), which has caused hours dealing with the IRS and a moderate amount of stress. What left the worst impression was the response afterward. Rather than taking meaningful accountability for communication failures and oversight, the focus was placed on defending the return's technical accuracy and justifying the fee. The small "goodwill adjustment" offered felt dismissive given the amount of time and frustration involved. Accuracy is expected from a paid tax professional. Communication, attention to detail, and client support are what separate a quality firm, and unfortunately this experience fell short in those areas.
