One thing USAA does well is ATM access. There are plenty of ATMs available, making it easy to handle everyday banking. Physical branches, however, are much harder to come by, so I consider myself fortunate to have one nearby when I need in-person assistance. Don't let the long lines discourage you. Every time I've visited, the lobby has looked busy, but the tellers work efficiently and keep things moving. What appears to be a long wait usually goes by much faster than expected. While I wish some aspects of the overall banking experience had remained as strong as they were years ago, I still appreciate the professionalism of the branch staff and the convenience they provide when I need face-to-face service. If you're visiting a branch, expect a crowd--but also expect a team that knows how to keep the line moving. Still have a 5 star rating for branch location but company would get a 3.

The past approximately 5+ years has been quite the opposite experience. They have literally ripped me off for thousands of dollars, how? Here's two examples. I disputed an airline charge for a ticket that the airline had charged me for twice for. It was an easy erroneous transaction to prove. Both tickets were in my name, and listed me as the passenger to two different airports, on opposite sides of the country at the same date and time. I thought it would be an easy open and closed case; but NO, USAA said there was not enough proof and refused to refund the charge. The airline actually told me to dispute the charges. So, they ripped me off $1500 on that case. More recently I reordered my checks. When I received them the checks were seriously printed wrong, with an odd word between my first and last name, it wasn't even a name (maybe in a foreign language?). They said they could not reprint them the way they were in my previous order. I said forget it, just refund my money and I'll order them from somewhere else. USAA said they could not refund my money even though they reprinted them quite wrong (obviously they have zero Q&A). Then they ordered more checks even though I clearly stated over and over I did not want them as they were going to print them, AND they charged me again!! Sadly I have 4-5 more examples of blatant wrongful practices that end up costing me money! USAA is now a very corrupt bank, I cannot believe they can do whatever they want. Additionally, when it comes to rude, inexperienced representatives; you can complain all you want and nothing will ever happen to them, and they know this! 23 years as a member means NOTHING to them. The new CEO (and a few before) should be ashamed of themselves and what has happened to a once great bank. I encourage everyone who has been ripped off by USAA to file complaints with the BBB.

Dillon has been phenomenal. His communication, clarity, and follow‑through were consistently excellent. He is incredibly customer‑focused, proactive, and truly goes above and beyond in every aspect of his work. Throughout the entire process, we felt fully informed--whether it was timelines, progress updates, or unexpected issues that came up. Any time we reached out, Dillon responded quickly, professionally, and with genuine care. Honestly, this has been the best turn‑around manager experience we've ever had. Dillon is an outstanding maintenance manager, and we wanted to make sure his exceptional performance and dedication were recognized. We are extremely satisfied and deeply appreciative of the work he put into bringing this property back to life.

On a positive note, the team was very responsive prior to move-in, answering phone calls and text messages in a timely manner. Unfortunately, that level of service dropped significantly once I was in the home. Post-move-in communication was exceptionally poor. I often had to call multiple times without receiving a response, despite the company expecting immediate replies whenever they reached out to me. We also experienced recurring issues with the home's water heater, losing hot water on at least three separate occasions. When we submitted maintenance requests, we were advised to turn up the temperature on the unit. While this provided a temporary fix, the underlying issue kept happening. It was only after sending a stern email and copying the property manager that the problem was finally addressed properly. To make matters worse, upon move-out, we were improperly charged a cleaning fee despite having hired professional cleaners and submitting the receipts directly to Joshua Garza. Joshua was unresponsive regarding the charge, and even after CCing Melisa Day, I still received no reply or resolution to this day. The lack of accountability and communication has been extremely frustrating. If you want to avoid a headache, I recommend to NOT lease through this company.

I needed to make a name change as she remarried . I was told I had to drive to Houston (3 hours away) to make my mother's name change, and bring her marriage license and her financial power of attorney as I had to start managing finances. In Houston 1 person was in the office. I gave him all the documents , he photocopied them but seemed a bit distracted talking to someone who was not a client and came to visit. He gave us a paper that needed to be notarized and gave us directions for a mailing, packaging center that had a notary public. I asked wasn't this something that could be done in office. He said it was a Friday and he was the only one in that day and was not a notary, which Schwab should have taken the time to make him one if he was going to be alone in the office . The office was very large so I can't imagine everyone took the day off at the same time but yes they did. Later on I sold shares and asked for the check to be mailed as I could not transfer it to her bank as it was not listed as a choice. No representative could figure out why OR talked to any supervisor to have their IT people look into it. I needed the money to pay her rent, a representative told me he could overnight the check even though it was a Friday. The next day check did not arrive, Monday it did not arrive. Finally Tuesday it arrived but with the wrong name ( we did make the name change). Of course the bank would not accept the check as her first name was the only match to her account. When I called the representative number they did not have the necessary paperwork for the name change... thanks Houston office that's why I drove 3 hours. I mailed in the information ( again) and turn around was 14 days. By that time I took money out of my personal account to cover her rent. The rep told me they would put a stop payment on the check with the wrong name. I went into the office thinking in person would help with this transaction. The man who assisted me was very courteous but said the amount he saw in the computer was not the same i quoted as her available monies for withdrawal. He said it showed money was taken out, the exact same amount as the wrong name check with the stop payment I received. I told him there was a stop payment which he did not see because the previous rep did not enter the phone call details I imagine.Luckily the check was in my wallet to show it had never been cashed otherwise she would have been out of $7,000 dollars. This front desk gentleman told me he could do a wire transfer which I agreed to. He kept telling me he wasn't familiar with the form and possibly it was not the correct form to use and wasn't sure if the transaction would go through. Again no one in the office to assist him with this question. At this time I felt this was a ploy from Schwab to keep me from getting the money for my mother, because so many wrong answers , poor attention to detail, personnel not knowing the correct form to use .. it was so frustrating!!! I did finally transfer money into another bank account of hers that was listed in the site . The rest Of her money still is in Charles Schwab because now I will just transfer it into another bank account then transfer again into the correct bank. So it seems everything is fine until you want to sell shares and get money.

Since my initial quest to find the perfect starter investment property I have met several people in this office, and everyone from the secretary to the manager are always more than willing to answer any questions I have ever had about the process. Process: Excellent. The sales team is very up front with costs and have proved to be incredibly knowledgeable about the rehab process. In addition, they have endless resources for a beginning investor who isn't quite sure about the work of different contractors and handymen. Inventory: The team is constantly obtaining new properties. However, they also sell them quick. (I learned the hard way not to waste too much time responding to a deal because I lost a couple investment homes that were perfect for my needs.) Conclusion: I have bought three properties in the last two years from New Western San Antonio and couldn't be more pleased with their business practice. If you are new to flipping houses or are a seasoned investor with a substantial portfolio, New Western will likely be able to find you a perfect property and educate you in the process.

What was communicated about the transaction structure, costs, and process changed significantly as the deal progressed. Costs and time increased substantially, transparency was poor, and what was communicated did not match what ultimately appeared in the transaction documents or in the agents actions. There was consistent use of urgency and pressure around signing agreements containing terms that were far less favorable than what had been communicated. These were just some of the many issues experienced. Taken together, the experience left me with zero trust in how this group conducts business. This kind of conduct is exactly why wholesalers have such a bad reputation. Fortunately, in this tighter real estate market, slimy wholesaling companies like this one are being pushed out, that is a good thing. A complaint is being submitted regarding clear, well documented violations of the National Association of Realtors Code of Ethics and Professional Standards by a group of us who discovered they had experienced similar conduct. A complaint to the BBB to follow. The other reviews that are 5 stars appear to be generic and fake.
