Finally, my youngest daughter had the most dental work done here after she experienced cavities and tooth decay due to drinking milk in bed as a baby and not brushing afterwards. She had to do the repair under general anesthesia at 3, which is super nerve-wrecking as a parent but under the care of Dr Nancy it went very well. We appreciate that everything is super kid friendly, from the coin kids get to retrieve a prize at the end of each visit, the tee shirt and picture with the dentist they get on their first visit, etc. We will keep coming here and also a special shoutout to all the dental assistants! When my kid got older (past two years old) they provided more (fluoride, electric brushing / cleaning, vs manual cleaning prior). Dr. Elizabeth is gentle and nice, and answered our questions well. Semi-relevant bonus point: They had a very cute small Santa ladder climbing decor last Christmas at the corner by where we had service, and we all enjoyed watching it :) I guess it may not be there every year though. My kid is older and she is just as patient and kind as I see her interact with the little kids that come in. I have never felt rushed or like I'm inconveniencing her with questions. The other really nice thing about her office is her other patients, they always seem to be just as friendly and it makes for a really nice atmosphere. And even though there are usually other families, they run a tight ship and always seem to be on time. We've had many dentist appointments in the last year and I can't think of a single time we had to wait, even though it would be completely normal if we did. She takes our insurance, but would 100% be worth the out of pocket costs if she didn't. Every experience has been positive and I have never left with a bad feeling or unanswered questions. I feel sad updating this after being a long time BAKD family. When we joined in 2019, we had an…read moreamazing experience. Staff was warm and kind and our kids always looked forward to going. Over the past two years, we have noticed significant change in how the BAKD Santa Clara office was run. On more than one occasion, the dental staff were reprimanded by the lead dentist (Dr. Radwan) in front of us, making us feel super uncomfortable, even when our hygienists had done a good job. We also had Dr. Radwan suggest a cavity filling and sealant for one of our kids. We took the day off of work and our daughter missed school to get to the appointment, only to be told that day that actually she didn't have a cavity that needed to be filled, and that they needed to look at the X rays again. On top of everything else, BAKD no longer accepted Delta Dental, and it became the patients responsibility to pay upfront and then get reimbursed and manage the go betweens of insurance and the dental office. We have since left BAKD and continue to get automated appointment reminders and billing requests, even when we have not been enrolled in over a year. When we call, it goes to voicemail and no one returns our call.

In early Nov, they finally produced an itemized bill that I have attached. I'm still not sure why under 3 years old oral evaluation isn't covered by my insurance, but that's what I was told. I paid the statement balance and today, 12/5, I receive yet another notice that I owe $7. There was no explanation, but comparing the two statements, which I have included here, it seems they randomly changed some charges and even added a charge. This is fraud because the last six months they have sent me a different bill this whole time and now all of a sudden after I paid they decided to change the charges with no explanation? It is also harassment to continue to email someone without providing any explanation for the charges. It's their responsibility to make sure the charges are correct and it seems they're just arbitrary at this point. Stay away from this incompetent business.

The staff go up and beyond ensuring everything is clean and sanitary for everyone. They also all are wearing sanitary personal hygiene products including gloves, masks, and protective clothing. This really made me feel safe and comfortable. Dr Thai had her assistant Oggustavo do my X-rays and cleaning. He did a great job. Next, the dental hygienist Phoug did my deep cleaning procedure and was extremely thorough. At the end of the procedure, Dr. Thai then advised me of how to get my teeth and gums back into good health. This was one of the best dental experiences I've ever had. I'm glad we came and I will definitely follow all the suggestions I was given and we will be back for another appointment.
