My experience was mixed. I asked for an estimate and the owner came out 2 days before the work was scheduled. When the electricians arrived they did not have all of the parts identified in the estimate. That makes no sense to me--why were they not prepared? They then had to go to the store which took at least 30 min. They also charged me for 2 electricians but one was learning and the lead electrician had to redo all of his work. They also did not have all of the equipment and had to borrow items from me. I was then billed for 2.0 hrs more than they were at my house. I called the owner and he discounted the bill by only 1 hour. For the above reasons, I would not recommend this company based on this one experience. read more

I was extremely impressed by the communications throughout the process. They were quick with responses, gave an accurate estimate and were wonderful about keeping us informed as to when the electrician would be coming to the house even after setting up the initial appointment. They then texted about 20 minutes before arrival. Our tech Dylan was great. Respectful, friendly, hard-working and knowledgeable. He installed all the fixtures we had purchased and the work was outstanding. We are so pleased with the results. The cost was more than reasonable and exactly what was quoted. I called for a simple light in the kitchen. They diagnosed that the light needed to be replaced. I paid for the consultation and made another appointment, asking for what kind of light I needed in order to replace the existing one. A few days before the second appointment, I called again. They said they could buy the light and just charge me for time and materials. I happily complied. They charged me $200 for the appointment. I called my tenant to ask if the light had been repaired, to which he said "no." I asked to speak to the manager and haven't heard back. I'm $100 lighter and still exactly where I was before I called. Don't bother. read more

TESLA WALL CONNECTOR INSTALLATION: In my opinion the company is not very professional. Robert rarely returns phone calls or emails. So yesterday, one of the lady at the front desk called to confirm an appointment for today. I mention to her I go with the second option which is $1250 - $200 off =$1050. Because I decided not to do the 4x4 post. This price is to install the Tesla wall connector. I even requested for a new update of the contract on the price but never receive an email. So thought that they will bring one. Next day, Mike is my installation tech. He is super nice. Everything was done pretty quick. So I went over and asked a few questions. I asked him why there are 2 circuits and he said 1 is for 20 and the other one is at 30 so the total of 50 amps circuit breaker. I said what! I paid for 80 amps circuit breaker for the wall connector aka charging station. So sad that how the company did not mention to the customer that he did not have 80 amps circuit breaker so decided to tell his tech to do 50 amp circuit breaker last minute without notify me. There are ton of cutting on my wall because they did the 50 amp circuit breaker. So Mike called Robert. I spoke to Robert and mention to Robert that your office personnel aware that the job is for 80 amp circuit breaker and she told me the cost is $1050 after $200 off. I told him that I did requested for an update contract on the price which I never saw. Robert accused me that my husband agreed to the 50 amps circuit breaker. My husband have never spoke to him after our first day meeting before the quote. I was the one handle everything. I was really mad because now Robert pointing it to us. He even emotionally hurt my feeling. He said in a loud tone on the phone "can you calm down? Why are you making little things seem like big things?" (Not exact words but pretty much like that). I told him, you don't talk to your customer like that. I am in the customer service and I don't talk to them like that. He told me let's figure out a solution. I told him, why are we even talking about a solution? This should have not happens. ****Robert, if you are honest to your customer then we are not in this problem. A solution should be solve from the beginning that is why I hired a professional electrician. I know I paid a price that is higher than anyone. Why? Because you said you done many Tesla cars before. Also, your company name is listed on their website. Also, you said in the email I never mention how many amps. I bought the wall connector charger which max output at 100 amps. Why am I spend $500 for 50 amps circuit breaker. You quote me for 80 amps circuit breaker which only pull max 64 amps output. I did not go with option $900 because it is only 50 amps circuit breaker and not a wall connector charger. The whole time you told me to go 50 amp circuit breaker but I told you I want to charge faster so that is why I bought the wall connector charger. BECAUSE the one come with the suv only could be at 50 amps circuit breaker. Please takes responsibilities and don't blamed your customer. Finally, Mike did fixed. However, there are a lot of cutting left on my wall from the 50 amps circuit breaker installation. When Mike had to install 80 amps circuit breaker he had to took everything out and put a huge conduit on the outside. I rather have the conduit at the bottom of the charger instead of on top. Hopefully he did put a gasket to prevent water from entering. I did talked to a few people that are expertise in Tesla wall connector that is not from here. They did mention that Mike should hide the conduit better like run behind the wall connector or at the bottom. They also did mention that hopefully he did set 64 amps (dial B) in the wall connector for 80 amp circuit breaker and number 3 wire. Wish I knew all these info before the installation. Horrible experience for me! I found them on Yelp due to high rating but not so true through my personal experience. This is my recommendation for anyone want to install the wall connector charger. Please understand a little about the job so you could at least know if they are doing the right thing. Don't fully trust because they're professional electrician. Good thing I know a little enough about 50 amps circuit breaker. Also, make sure your electrician confirmed the descriptions on the contract on the day of installation (which I never have an update version). read more

I used Charleston Electric to install a 240 volt 50 amp plug in my garage. Within 30 minutes I had my quote and appointment scheduled, they let me send pictures of my breaker box instead of having someone come out to my house for the quote which saved a lot of time. The electrician came out the next week and completed the work quickly and it looks very good. I was pleasantly surprised with the final cost as it was lower than I expected. I requested a quote for a 200amp panel upgrade and Chris came out as scheduled and was very friendly and personable. He told me he'd have a quote to me within a couple days. 2 days passed with no update so I called and spoke with Summer. She assured me I'd have a quote ready by the end of the next day. 2 more days go by with no update. I call again and am told it shouldn't be much longer. I wait another full day and nothing. Now when I call no one answers on 2 different occasions, 2 separate days/times, no response. I finally got them on the phone again today and again, she assured me I would at least get a call back. Chose to go another route and they still insist we pay them for someone telling us "they don't know what the problem is but can come do some tests if we agree to billing". Half a year later they're still invoicing us for coming out to give a bid. I made an appointment for Charleston Electric to come out to the house to answer some wiring questions in my sun room. Their Yelp page gives you the option to request a quote online, but after inputting all the details of my job request, I got a simple response that advised me to contact the office for an appointment. Ok. The young lady at the office was very friendly and we made an appointment with Richie for a week or so out. She said that Richie would show up between 1pm and 3pm, and he was there at 1:05pm, so Richie gets an extra star just for that. I showed him the issue in my sunroom and after a little bit of playing around, he figured out what the problem was, and had it rewired and properly assessed within the hour. Thank God he did it within the hour, because they charge $150 an hour, and there's no way I could've afforded a second hour. Now I just have to install a fan in the sunroom and everyone will be happy as pigeons on a cathedral. read more

I will never, ever use this company again. I had a small emergency Sunday morning. The electricity in my bedroom was not working. I called who was open. They told me they charged $250 for a minimum of 2 hours plus parts. The guy came late in the day. They had me send a picture of my circuit breaker. Just in case they needed a part. The guy was very nice. Turned out it was nothing. He opened one of the plates of the socket which was loose. Turned out that connects the rest of the sockets in the room. I had pulled out a plug and seemed it loosened it. He was at my house for a half hour. When I looked at my checking account today I saw they charged me $500!!! I called immediately very upset. Must be a mistake. The girl on the phone said " oh no!!! We charged u $250 per hour for the two hours!" I told her what was she talking about!!!? That's absurd! I was told I was to be charged $250 for 2 hours plus parts if needed!!! If they were going to charge per hour?? THEN U TELL THE CUSTOMER U CHARGE $250 AN HOUR FOR EACH THOSE TWO HOURS NO MATTER WHAT. And I told her I never would hv agreed to that. And, how they explained it was very very misleading. And I was not paying and I'd like a credit. If not I will put in dispute with my bank. Seriously, GE doesn't even charge those kind of prices to make a service call. This company has some nerve taking advantage of ppl like this!! She had me hold on for 3 minutes. Got back to me and had the nerve to say her " manager" would get back to me! She was in a meeting! Right. Then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. She promised she would get back to me at the end of the day. Of course she never did. I knew she wouldn't. I went to my bank and told them what happened. They put in dispute. They will get their $250. But I wrote a terrible review on Google and now on Yelp. They are very stupid not to have gotten back to their customer. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel. 3 days before the cabinets are to go in, I find many issues with the electrical in the kitchen and my wife decides to move the location of several key appliances. William answered his phone the first time I called and told me he could come out between 4-5 to take a look. He arrived promptly at 4 and we discussed options. He was very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and had a lot of great ideas. His professionalism even led us to inquire about and add recessed lighting. He was able to get me a quote at a reasonable price within a couple of hours of meeting. The next morning William and his helper came out promptly as they said they would. They brought all materials and worked efficiently to get our wiring issues solved. They terminated several hot lines that were never in use, ran new 220 volt wire through the crawlspace, rewired several light switches, moved several electrical outlets, and installed 4 recessed lights all before 5pm. He even went above and beyond and patched and mudded the drywall in the places that needed it. I hung around to learn most of the day, and due to William's professionalism, organized work processes, and integrity to always do things the right way, I will be calling him first for any electrical work we might ever need, and highly recommend you do as well! read more

They gave me a $2k estimate with zero explanation for an entirely new breaker box. I asked to speak with the tech several times. I still have not received a call back. Also- they would t fit me in early even though my AC was out due to this problem. Also I asked to speak with a manager or owner since they would not apply the $150 service fee to this $2k of work.
