Well landscaped, great for walking, running and biking. A modern neighborhood park with restrooms and rest stops. There are several sculptures, art installations and cool architecture. Located next to the park is the headquarters of Google, at the Visitor Experience, part of the larger GooglePlex campus.

Green, beautiful park in google visitor center! Its very relax, chill and lay back park. It makes the experience great from the parking to google visitor center and because of trees you cant feel the heat so 5/5.

3.5 stars. Cute park with nice lawn area that's well maintained across from one of the Google campuses. If you come here for a morning stroll, you might as well extend your walk across the street and also take part in the Google Visitor Experience. After all, it is free to the public and you might as well experience it once if you're a Silicon Valley resident.

Right next to Google headquarters, the park is filled with these bikes.

Probably one of the greenest little parks you'll go to in this drought, Charleston Park is situated on the edge of Google's campus. It's filled with their signature bikes! The park has bathrooms and a water fountain. Street parking and a little lot is available. There's not much to it, but it provides a good spot to check out the exterior of the Googleplex!

    Beware of chubby squirrels!

Trail Off Manmade…read morelake that was a former landfill site and was first conceived back in 1968 by the City of Mountain View to give it's residents a place to play by the water. It wasn't until 1983 when it was actually dedicated, but it's been a staple of the area since. The Good: *Watercraft rentals *Free to visit *Large parking lot *I guess there's a restaurant of some sort but didn't visit or check out. *Access to the SF Bay Trail that take you around various sloughs and to other parks, if one is into a longer hike. *Great birdwatching due to the proximity to The Bay. The Meh: *Very busy place and the parking lots full up fast--especially during the summer. *Be aware part of the Bay Trail does allow puppers, but the other part DOES NOT. So, be aware of signage. The Ugly: *No shade on the Slough trails *Lots of bugs, so wear your DEET. Conclusion: Great shoreland park with plenty of amenities, but it's popularity is it's biggest curse. That and the bugs. But mostly the popularity.

I recently visited for a stroll around the North Shore recreational area, and found it really fun and peaceful. The parking was free, easy, and there weren't too many people, though I suspect it could get popular during weekends or the summer due to the various activities to be had here. It's next to a local landmark, Rengstorff House, and a golf course and Shoreline Amphitheatre. Shoreline Parklands is mainly host to a large park and trail where you can walk, bike, and observe nature, and a large lake where you can sail on various boats. They also offer paddle boating, which could be a fun organizational offsite! There is virtually no shade if that matters to you, but the grounds are more or less flat. At the time, a company was renting out the boat house space for a party. The boat house also does equipment rentals (you can book online) and have tons of lockers. We saw huge groups of coots and geese, and a lot of squirrels with their own personalities. In fact, some squirrels looked like hybrid squirrels... It was definitely interesting observing the thriving nature in this area. We even witnessed some squirrels in heat.

Check their site for more info: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=538# We really enjoyed our hike here. The space is beautiful, and the trails are well-maintained. The trailhead had plenty restrooms as well. We made it up to Goat Rock Lookout, back down, then detour to the waterfall. It took ~1.5 hours in total, which was perfect for a end-of-day hike before the park closes at sunset. The view up at Goat Rock Lookout was breathtaking!

This place is usually my go to when the weather is just perfect and you want good views of the mountains viewing the Monterey Bay and the Santa Clara Valley. In addition, the park is even open during the cold winter season, where it occasionally will snow (because of how high the elevation is, the main base is situated at about 3,200 feet above sea level). This place has been my go-to park for hiking for a while, because of its terrain. At the same time, it's also been because of how much snow they get when cold fronts come into effect. They are also open year-round, so definitely swing by this state park when you do get the chance to! It's a decision you'll never regret.
