Extremely unprofessional and dishonest company stay far away!…read more Oak Trust Properties has been the most unprofessional company we've ever dealt with in owning a rental property in Charleston. Every time you try to call, you're told the property manager is "in a meeting" and to make matters worse, they don't even have a proper phone system that allows transfers. You're left sitting on one line with no help and no answers. We sent multiple emails to staff and even the owners with no response. The lack of follow-through and communication is beyond frustrating, especially when all we wanted were basic updates on our tenant and lease renewal. The final straw was when they tried to charge us for a lease renewal they never completed -- then claimed they did! Absolutely unacceptable. Dishonest, unreliable, and vindictive because we chose to leave their company. If you value professionalism, integrity, and communication, look elsewhere. Managing a property is stressful enough Oak Trust will only make it worse. Stay clear!

Issues that could have been resolved quickly were ignored or mishandled due to poor follow-through and minimal effort. As an owner, I expect transparency, responsiveness, and basic accountability--none of which were provided. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable property management.

We had been working with a contractor/real estate agent for several months, who abandoned our project and was trying to bully us into making decisions that were not in our best interest. By the grace of God, we came across this agency while looking for an appraisal to see where we were. He immediately stepped up, realized we were in trouble and went to work with us. He patiently stood by us while we tried for months to terminate our contract with the original realtor and was an invaluable mentor through the entire process. With Chris's help, we were able to get referrals to TRUSTWORTHY contractors, get the work done, and he worked tirelessly to get the house shown, advise us on what needed to be done, fielded phone calls and emails, re-listed, aggressively marketed, and supervised the progress every day. We finally closed YESTERDAY, and would not have been able to do it without his help and the support of his team. We will forever be grateful for his unwavering support and service to us. Today, we have a happy ending, and my parents' future is secure thanks to Chris and The Family Real Estate Group. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER GROUP of realtors in Charleston. Thank you again!

I'm disappointed with the lack of oversight and follow-through by Jeff Cook Real Estate…read more(specifically Matthew Sceviour) during my home buying experience, specifically regarding the HVAC system. During the inspection, the HVAC was identified as needing repairs, which were agreed upon by the seller as part of our closing conditions. Despite this being a key issue, the agency failed to properly verify that the HVAC was actually functioning correctly after the repairs were supposedly completed. This lack of diligence resulted in me moving into a home with a still-broken system--something that should have been caught and addressed before closing. When buyers rely on professionals to guide them through the real estate process, especially with large financial commitments involved, basic accountability and attention to contractual details are essential. Unfortunately, in this case, that trust was misplaced. I urge future clients to be very proactive when working with this agency and not assume that agreed-upon repairs or verifications will be handled thoroughly. While one specific person who benefited from this sale might say that it was the HVAC company's fault, I believe the agent should have been more proactive in verifying that what need to be done according to the contract was completed. I also asked to do a walkthrough of the property the day before closing and was ignored. There are a lot of good agents out there. Would recommend finding them at other agencies.

Her expertise and ability to handle a couple of circumstances made our experience much better than it would have been with other realtors we dealt before. She constantly showed support on our behalf most definitely working for our interest rather than the seller with transparency rather than concocting with seller to come up with a politically correct answer. Seller had through their field manager an incredible ability to BS to try to avoid responsibility on some repairs needed but thanks to Britt and our demand to bring the G Manager into the picture we were able to get what was fair as far as repairs and the refund of some 'bait and switch" money for an upgrade we paid back in December. Morgan did an exceptional job every Thursday with pictures, it was great to be able to see what was missing if any. We would hire Britt right away if we had to buy again, without a doubt the best in the Low Country

The help and service during the home-buying process was fantastic and I am grateful for their care,…read moreunderstanding, and dedication to their customers. The experience that my family and I had with The Martin and Freeman Group, specifically, Britt and Morgan, was wonderful. From the start, it was bumpy but nothing major. Because I was unaware of Lindera's policy about having a realtor with me for the first visit, I might not be able to have Britt act on my behalf as my realtor. Kudos to Lindera for overlooking that policy due to my medical condition and having to work. I explained that I needed to have a realtor because I have stage 4 cancer and had to work as well. If there was any time that I needed help it was during this time so the home-buying process would be easier. The first meeting I had with Britt was at the Lindera Preserve office and from there we worked with Pam to see what models were available and when we could look at the sites they were being built at. During this, my mother and daughter were with me helping me decide what would be the best option for my situation. One of the problems during the home-buying process is my mother's superstitions, which I am not on board with. I only cared if the house had a good plan, it has potential for future upgrades, well built, and it has enough space to be comfortable. After looking between two homes that were available at Lindera, I chose a house that was decent sized with three bedrooms and had a room on the first floor. That was a need for me just in case there was a medical emergency. I wanted to have a room easily accessible to EMS should I need to be treated and evacuated to the hospital. The house was nice and cozy, but it was not my dream home. I chose it because it fit my mother's requirements more than mine, which hers was more about feng shui. Britt was helpful and patient and we were at the last moments of finalizing the house I wanted, but in my heart, the house was not what I wanted. The house that I wanted was the Jasper which is a beautiful open space floor plan with four bedrooms, a big patio, and a home that I could leave to my daughter when my time came. My mom liked the house but the fact that the front door and the back door were aligned with each other was a deal breaker. Again, a Feng Shuai issue, but Britt was considerate, unlike the Lennar mortgage rep who laughed about it. I thought it was ridiculous myself, but I was surprised the Lennar mortgage rep laughed about it because it seemed unprofessional to do so even though I am not a fan of superstitions, I think she could have been respectful about it like Britt was. I cannot say enough about how much that meant to me despite my different thoughts of Feng Shuai. I ended up not getting a mortgage done through Lennar due to several communication issues with the Lennar mortgage rep. One was that the Jasper I wanted ended up being sold to someone else because of her mistake. I voiced my concerns about getting a mortgage done with Lennar because of all the communication issues and Britt backed me up and thought it was a good idea. Once everything was settled and the actual house, I wanted was available, I signed the documents and was set for construction to start around the beginning of February and completed in June. During the build process Britt and her ace in the hole, Morgan kept me informed and provided pictures to show the progress of the build. Through the delays due to inspections, a change in construction managers, setting up independent inspections of the home, and issues with PenFed on closing day, I felt confident in Britt and Morgan. Some things did not go as planned but there was no lack of trying to get things back on track by Britt. I 100% recommend The Martin Freeman Group for your home-buying realtor. They genuinely care for their customers and ensure that you have peace of mind while helping you through the exciting and stressful time of home buying. I cannot thank them enough for their help with this home purchase, that will be the home that I leave to my daughter so she can raise a family one day. Thank you, Britt, and Morgan!

We used ChuckTown Homes to do both! We met with our buyer's agent, Andrea, to discuss all of our wants/needs in regards to a new house. She promptly got us set up on a portal to begin mapping out where we wanted to be and for houses to be tagged for us within our budget. She was prompt in getting back to us with any questions and with setting up viewings. When it came to negotiations with the sellers of the home we wanted, so was very proactive! Our buyer's agent, Matt, was just as great! We set up an appointment for him to view our house to discuss what we think we can sell for (as well as why, including other homes in the area that were comparable). He advised us on how to have the home set up for photos and how to have things done for showings. He was able to help us navigate toward good offers and ones that seemed like they wouldn't be a good fit. He was prompt in getting back to us via text, email or even by phone when needed. We really appreciate all of the hard work they put into making the transition of selling and buying our homes easier on our family. We would highly recommend them for your buying or selling needs.
