My husband and I always order the chicken salads, no tomato for me due to allergy, and they're always very good.

Recently I tried the Moscreek Bar & Grill, under new ownership, to try their service and pizza…read more Upon arrival I was met by one of the previous working waitresses and nicely talking to me got me a beer and took an order for a pizza. After which she started a tab, as usual. The owner/bartender then after running around doing other things came behind the bar. Very rudely I could hear him asking the waitress who I was and if I was O.K. She said yes and after sitting awhile waiting to order another drink, he finally gave me one. He then said my pizza was done and closed my tab out. Two beers and a large pizza. Since I was talking to other patrons, I ordered another beer and paid cash for it. He took the $2.75 for the beer but never gave it to me. I finished the beer I had and then asked for the one I paid for. He said he already gave it to me and the thru a baby tantrum and banged his hand off the counter yelling explicit words and names toward me. He then went to the Kitchen and grabbed my pizza throwing it at me still calling me the explicit names. I told him to check his cameras and he would see his mistake. Instead, he still kept calling me names as I left. I returned home to kids wanting some pizza only to find the pizza inedible due to what appeared to be several wads of spit on my pizza. Needless to say, I had to throw the pizza away and order another one from a different pizza shop. So, my adventure to try the new owners out, not only cost me getting ripped off the price of the beer and being called explicit names, I then had the cash loss off the spit pizza and had to waist time and gas to get another one from elsewhere.

Middle of nowhere goodness…read more Yeah, I think that sums it up. Just kidding, I must review this gem of a place. When you hear of a place in Moss Creek (pronounced mosscrick to the locals), your hopes don't usually go all that high. That was me when mentioned I would be dining here for the evening. Man, was I wrong about this place. The atmosphere inside is great. The room feels big and it is bright on the inside. No dark and dreary here. Wood gives it the feel that you are in a sportsman lodge. Seating is either at the bar or pick a table around the area, just not the pool tables. I opted for the bacon cheeseburger and loaded fries. When I was informed by members of my party that you won't be able to finish them, I doubted what they were saying. When my food arrived, I could see why they said that. The loaded fries are a plate to itself, and piled high with toppings. Cheese, sour cream, green onions, green peppers, bacon, and I'm sure I'm missing some toppings here as they were loaded. The burger was quite possibly one of the best burgers I have ever tasted, and I'm not just saying that. Cook perfectly to my liking, the bacon was crispy, toppings fresh and no need to add anything to it. As far as the bar aspect, they know what they are doing here, that being said, you are not going to find all the fancy beers you would at a bar situated in a more populated area. So stick to the basics here. They also have the capability to make plenty of mixed drinks. Make sure to use your GPS to get here, but believe me, it's worth it.

We got two of the breakfast plates, as it was a little too early for the kitchen to do lunch. Though advertised as bacon/sausage, we were automatically given bacon (not sure if they ran out or just forgot to ask if it was supposed to be a choice). The ordering process was simple and food came out very quickly. The place was lively and appeared to be a nice hangout spot under normal operations. Appreciative of the business being open for special hours on Groundhog Day!

My husband's grandfather used to come here often since it was just across the street from where he lived. My husband had been here with him before but my first visit was when we came to town for his grandfather's funeral. A few family members stopped by the bar afterward as a tribute to him. We haven't had many chances to visit Ford City since both of his grandparents passed away. This time, we were visiting our uncle in Kittanning so we decided to stop by to grab our favorite hot sausage. It was around lunchtime and the barstools were already filled with locals. We got our hot sausage and my husband enjoyed a beer with it while we talked about his grandpa and shared some memories. It was a simple visit but a meaningful one. We'd love to stop by again the next time we're in the area.

It's prepared by the bartender on a griddle right behind the bar and the sub roll is amazing as well. Their pastrami on rye is worth it for the delicious rye bread alone. Smicksburg is a quaint little town with charming country stores. We visited Our Twist of Country furniture store, where my husband found a recliner chair he fell in love with. The salesperson was very helpful in picking out the wood stain and fabric. Now, we're just waiting for six weeks to pick it up. For lunch, we went to the Country Junction restaurant. The service was fast, and the meal was very tasty. My husband had the roast beef and mashed potatoes. He mentioned the beef was a bit dry, but the gravy helped. I had the junction turkey, which was shredded turkey on a piece of stuffing bread - it was delicious, and I'm glad I got the gravy on the side. We were tempted to try the blueberry pie but decided against it when we learned it wasn't made in-house. The cream pies are made in-house, though. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced the meal was. Make The Shop @ Greentree Lumber a must on your list of stops. It's a wonderful, quaint store with all thing's country and more.
