Let me start off by saying I was having a really tough day. Like terrible. I stopped by here for a Philly cheesesteak because I was starving and super sad. I thought it would cheer me up, but my experience with Charley's put me down even more. It was my first time here and I ordered their Bacon Philly cheesesteak, cheese fries, and a water bottle. My total came out to $16. Please take a look at the picture. Maybe it was a sign that the day was just out of my control. This is the saddest Philly cheesesteak I have ever seen and eaten in my entire life. They filled it a 3rd of the way and gave me one slice of bacon. Are you serious? What a complete scam. This almost made me actually cry. The flavor was good for a mall sub, but it was a shame that I tasted bread throughout 70% of the sandwich. The cheese fries were also disappointing. Charley's Philly Steaks at the Burlington Mall manages to punch well above its weight for a food court operation, which already sets expectations appropriately. The food came out hot, fresh, and genuinely flavorful, with enough customization options to briefly make you forget you're ordering dinner next to a pretzel stand. Ordering took a minute--partly due to a slight language barrier and partly due to the sheer volume of humanity pressing in from all sides--but the staff was patient, courteous, and clearly doing their best under food-court conditions. Once the food arrived, it was clear the wait wasn't for nothing. The real headline here, though, is the ultimate gourmet fries. These were not "good for a mall" fries. These were why aren't more real restaurants doing this fries. Crispy, loaded, indulgent, and somehow better than what I've been served at places with tablecloths and a much stronger sense of self-importance. The downside is exactly what you'd expect: it's a mall food court. Loud, crowded, chaotic, and good luck finding a seat unless you're willing to hover awkwardly or assert dominance. Still, for what it is, Charley's delivers far more than it has any right to. I'd absolutely stop in again--preferably at a less peak, more civilized hour. read more

Went to the mall and had to drop off my iPhone for a repair headed over to the food court and the pictures look good and they were billing themselves as the best Philadelphia cheesesteak. unfortunately, I was unable to check yelp because I didn't have a phone. She was having trouble hearing so we helped her understand what the employee was asking her. She only had Apple Pay and they weren't accepting it. The employee had the gall to ask if we would help pay for her order. I like to think my wife and I are genuinely kind so we obliged and paid for her order plus our own. This isn't the Capital Grille, it's a fast food place. With that in mind, its a good one. I've been eating at this location for almost 4 years and have seen the staff turnover like pancakes every few months. I eat here probably 2 times a week since I work nearby. The things I value here are the taste of the food, the value and the friendly staff. The food tastes great, the punchcard system gives it good value, and the staff that remains is a friendly bunch. The frozen meat slab isn't high quality food, sure, but they make it taste pretty great. read more

I wouldn't leave 1 star if I didn't have to. I was in the mall trying to decide on food with my fiancé. We were walking around the food court trying to decide on a food option when we came up on the older man standing out in front of Charley's giving samples when he gave us a sample he then started saying very rude things like "I hate people who only want samples" and "this s*** really annoys me when people aren't getting food here but take samples." After that experience, I will never try Charley's or recommend anyone here while having employees like that. read more

Very surprised at the negative reviews. I have been coming here since 2005 when the Manager was Ambrose and replaced by Bobby (both have sincebeen replaced) Bobby was the best. Very high energry waving his arms saying hello, come over here. He made yoy feel like as if your money was appreciated. The food is great. Yes its frozen but delicious none the less. I passed by trying samples when I saw a man named Jet passing out cheesesteak samples. It happened to be the teriyaki variety and loved it. Sure, it wasn't the best in the world, but for fast food quality, it was pretty good. However, had it not been for Jet, I probably would have just walked on. Instead, his terrific customer service got me in line, and I was not disappointed. The peach lemonade was amazing, which was recommended over the strawberry by the clerk. Good call. Terrible was a word for it. Revolting is another. My wife ordered us a bunch of stuff from Appleseed crepes, including what they considered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, which was actually old roast beef with melted cheese. All the time I was consuming this, feeling terrible that cow had to die for this awful thing (I am a former vegetarian still quite sympathetic), I looked at the Charley's sign next door, and it called to me, like a shining beacon of what my sandwich should have been. So, I walked up and ordered that image seducing me from the menu board, literally that is what I requested "the one on the menu board." It was to be a beautiful fusion of a cheese steak bomb with a delightfully fresh salad incorporated in its folds, and it was pictured with bacon and cheese fries and a soda, and I was so hungry I ordered those too. What I received back was not a sandwich style baguette, but a sub-style baguette. Why is this important, you ask? It is because you can't possibly stuff everything pictured in that menu board sandwich into a partially divided sub roll. You need to split it completely and then build it, artisanly, like a sandwich, not some sub you'd buy at some place with "House of" in the name. It had a couple of mushrooms, an onion here or there, and maybe a pepper or two, infused into the dryest, saltiest bit of what you might try to call beef, and covered with some sort of cheese. There was no lettuce, no tomato, no anything I had seen in the menu board sub that would help delude me into thinking this sub was anything other than the answer you give on the form marked "Reason for Angioplasty" at your doctor's. I would have settled for wilted lettuce and truck-ripened tomatoes instead of the wonderfully fresh looking greens and tomatoes featured on the menu board, but there was nothing. It made me miss the Appleseed cheesesteak sandwich and repent ordering meat that clearly paid no honor to the cows that died to make it. I was hungry, so I did eat it, but I couldn't bear to eat the fries. They were drenched in what looked like a convenience mart's finest this-will-pass-for cheese sauce and topped with a deluge of tiny, microscopic, uncooked bacon bits. Mmmm.... uncooked fat dander. I decided to save that for my dogs, but, then, I decided that wasn't fit for my dogs either. I just threw it away. The fountain-drink Sprite was satisfactory. read more

I had a very good experience at this location. The subs were hot and fresh, the crew was friendly and upbeat, and we were both pleased with our food- two regular sized subs, two fries, and two drinks for $24. If I have any negatives associated with Charley's it is that the blueberry lemonade (it had real blueberries in it) was not really well mixed when I got it. AKA "Charley's Grilled Subs" was a gross waste of money. I ordered a regular size grilled steak sub with onions and was excited to eat it after tasting the delicious sample being handed out in the food court of the mall. The picture on the menu board showed a sub bursting with meat and fix ins but when I received my sandwich all I saw was bread. I opened up the sub to see a small portion of steak spread out to fill the sub roll.?!?!? I asked the cooks "is that it" and they very curtly said yup and rolled their eyes. I will NEVER go here again. I don't care if it tasted good, for $6, I want some MEAT in my sub. If all I wanted was bread I would of went to a bakery!! Chicken should not start off as a frozen square.... So when I ducked away to the Mall to get a wedding gift for Amanda and Joe, I decided to take advantage of the food court. Having spent a year or so working in Burlington Mall, I saw the familiar favorites: Pizzeria Ragina & Chik-fil-et (sp?)... I was about to go to get some chicken from Chik when I saw this sub place, and man, could I go for a nice chicken sub. I meander over, stand in line, and go for a chicken teriyaki.... secretly I was hoping this place was like Penn Station, and I could get a wicked pizza sub... but no such luck. I was wicked disappointed. the chicken looked like it started off as some form of processed square meat. More Meat!! Great buffalo chicken sub and cheese fries. That with a drink will run you close to $10. What i love about the chicken subs is the chicken is chopped up like a steak and cheese and the buffalo sauce is pretty good. They used to use Texas Petes hot sauce but now I think they use Franks...I liked it a little more when they used Texas Petes but they are still money. One thing I don't like is the lack of meat they give you. You can double the meat for another $1.80 but with the price you pay I was expecting a little more chicken. I was surprised at how good these dang subs were! I had little hope since Quizno's is just across the food court here within the Burlington Mall, but I was surprised! The subs are a nice size, a good price, and wonderfully flavorful! I usually don't get a steak and cheese sub because they are so bland, but this one had a real solid flavor to it - both meat and cheese. It was really nice. Subs are around 5-6 bucks, and you can get fries, etc. The fries were surprisingly awesome too - not overly greasy at all and nicely cooked! The staff in this branch just cleaned his hand with his shirt and then with that hand put the stuff on the sandwich. The meat was felt beside the heating plate for a while and he was just talking to someone else and after few minutes he just moved it back there. It was super dirty with low quality. I had the Philly cheese steak at the mall- which was amazing! with the combo (french fries and a drink). And it was only came out to be $8.65 with tax! Less than 10 bucks at the food court- which is a really good deal. They had Philly cheese steaks, chicken california and new Hawaiian Chicken Subs. They grill it right in front of you and ask if you want toppings of tomato, lettuce and mayo. The workers were awesome. Very nice and friendly ! The food was good so I am giving it 4 stars. The only bad thing was the creepy kid working the register that kept saying "yum yum" after everything. "Hello ladies want to try? Yum Yum Yum." He actually said that along with the word yum 62 other times which I counted while waiting on line. That has no reflection on my score since it is based on food quality for a food court.
