Such a cute little book store! They have a great social impact on the community and created such a safe space for folks to come find some great books. The staff working were super friendly and helped my friends and I pick out some fabulous reads. They also had an upstairs area with a meeting place and tables to work from. Don't forget to check out the bathroom!

What a wonderful store! I was wandering around Fremont and saw the purple store front and was drawn in. Charlie was so incredibly welcoming and helpful. They have so many books to choose from, lots of cute stickers and knick knacks as well. Definitely add to your list if you're visiting Seattle.

Lovely book store! I loved the little bookmark guide for representation within the romance section. The value was reasonable - no notable mark ups. The staff were also kind and helpful. There's a discount for educators too! Highly recommend!

The cutest little GAY book store! You can find LGBT books of every genre in here for every age: mystery, fashion, romance, children's, history, etc. And of course books about LGBT culture. The inside is so cute with white and pink walls. Their mascot is a little bear. They sell pronoun pins, postcards, games, and some other knick-knacks too. The store is new to the neighborhood, but they've already created an impact in the community. Check out their calendar for a variety of fun queer events and book clubs!

Y'all, YAS FOR INCLUSIVITY, EQUITY, DIVERSITY, AND QUEER LOVE! This bookstore is healing my inner child. From the moment we stepped in, we felt the warm, welcoming energy we crave everywhere we go! I saw a mom reading a storybook about a queer family to her little girl, and it made my heart sing. What an amazing addition to our Seattle neighborhood. This Arkansas-raised boy who faced adversity and bullies felt right at home!

What a wonderful surprise coming across this niche and welcome store! Inside, I found a delightfully decorated and.organized store with helpful staff, a great selection of books and novelties, fair prices and everything I could have ever asked for from a store called Charlie's Queer Books. Cheers

I absolutely enjoyed this bookstore not because of the selections, but because of the owner- David…read more From the time that I entered the store, he had me laughing and smiling due to his affable and jovial demeanor. He also steered me into the directions of books that were absolutely hysterical. From "The Gas That We Pass", to "Everybody Poops", to perhaps my all-time favorite of "All My Friends Are Dead." I paid $27 more for the fantastic customer service that I received from the owner much more than the actual contents of the book that I purchased. Certainly one of Pike Place Market's vendor staples that I will absolutely return to on my next visit.

Not many will share their favorite poems with you from memory! When a friend and I first walked in, we remarked on a Shel Silverstein display, and the owner told us the story of the author's last published book. We quoted some of our favorite pieces, and he gave suggestions for new reads. Despite knowing I was going to walk around for the rest of the day, I bought a book, because I wanted to support this business and I trusted the recommendation. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. They have an amazing selection of used paperback fiction and the pricing is great. Inventory balances old and new, classic and under-appreciated works. A must-visit!

They have been at this current corner spot at 1st and S Jackson since February 2021. This bibliophile clearly has been very late to the party! I stopped in during Independent Booksellers Day (4/25/26) and it was packed full of people. Warmly acknowledged upon entering and later when departing. I briefly browsed the shelves. There's a decent selection, as well as, other merch available for purchase. What really caught my attention were the high curved ceilings. It gave a bright, airy feeling despite feeling a bit cramped with the current capacity onsite. My previous indie booksellers in Pioneer Square were Elliott Bay Book Store (moved to Capitol Hill) and the treasure trove owned by the late David Ishii. It was good to be reacquainted again with Arundel Books, a mainstay in Seattle since 1995.

They have an awesome section dedicated to Seattle-specific books, including some really unique titles I hadn't come across before. Studio Ghibli merch area right upon entering the shop, of course, of course. Decent selection of pens (I got a couple). Since it is a small shop, the aisles are a little cramped. Kinda stuffy too, especially on the second level. Polite staff!

At the time of purchase, I specifically asked about the return policy and was told that returning books would be "no problem" as long as they remained unopened in their original plastic wrapping. When I later returned to exchange or return three of the books 10 days later, I was told that I could not do so because I did not have my receipt. This requirement was never mentioned when I asked about returns. As a longtime member, my purchase is documented through my membership account, so it is disappointing that this record could not be used to verify the transaction. I find this level of customer service unacceptable. If a receipt is required for returns, customers should be clearly informed of that at the time of purchase, especially when they specifically ask about the return policy.
