I've been going to the salon for maybe 2 years now and I've never ever had a problem. I'm not sure why it was different this time but I went in for a fill and to get a couple nails replaced that had fallen off, the nails that he did do look perfect like they usually do. We made small talk and I thanked him for the cool snowflake stamp he suggested. Though for some reason this time he just didn't do the fill on four of my nails or reshape them at all?? Then he skipped the lotion , cuticle oil,massage and the hot towel altogether and just told me I was good to go. I was a little confused so I kind of waited around to see if he was kidding but he wasn't and I paid and left. I'm really not one to cause a scene so I under tipped him unfortunately but I'm confused and I don't understand why he just didn't finish his job..... I paid $60 for this. read more

Short Version- Good decor/set up, polite working staff, seated an hour after our APPOINTMENT time, terrible pricing for average polish jobs and RUDE OWNER. Let me explain: This was my first time going to Charlie's Bar; the decorations and design of the store really make a great first impression. However, the owner himself is extremely rude and only cares for money not the customers. I had an 7pm appointment scheduled for my little sister and I. We arrived and were told to wait. The person who we requested and scheduled started to work on somebody else as we had to wait 30 mins before being seated. When seated we had to wait another 10-15 minutes. No problems during the process of application, enjoyable. The staff who worked on us were great individuals. The polish job done on myself which was just a pedicure was priced $43! ($5 extra for cuticle). The pricing is insanely high compared to a lot of other nail places. This includes different cities that I frequently visit such as Orlando, Boston, Houston. On average it is $30-$35. And the paint job done was no other than regular polish nothing grand, not even gel. BUT WAIT IM NOT HERE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PRICING because if that was the case I would save my time and not write this review since now I know I simply just won't go back. More so, I am here to complain about the owner. When I was paying for my pedicure I questioned about the pricing and he simply kept saying "$43" louder and louder without giving any answer to why my payment was that price and then as I handed the tip money to him he disrespectfully goes "I am not collecting go and give it to her." He might've been upset that we were heading out at 9pm aka an hour after they close however that had nothing to do with us. If you're going to run a business the tone you set with your customers should always remain caring ESPECIALLY when we as customers are polite and appreciative. We deserved better. It's certainly the staff keeping the place alive because this place is just average. The price is too high for what you get: an okay paint job and an extreme attitude from the owner himself. They typically do a great job on my nails but the prices are inconsistent! I requested a manicure with dip powder & only got the dip. No manicure. I didn't say anything, thinking they might do it differently but no. I was charged $50 just for the dip. I tipped $10 b/c the employee did a great job & it wasn't her fault the owner didn't relay the message. I love how they do nails but the communication lacks. I'd give zero stars if I could. They charged me $75 for a gel mani. I asked for a pink ombré and the women said $35, which I thought was the total. Instead they charged $35 additional for the simple ombré. Who in there right mind wants to pay $75 for a gel mani? She also didn't file my nails and it came out a bit sloppy and messy. Most ridiculously high-priced salon I've ever been too! Had 3 nails fixed and a gel polish change to the $ca$ching cost of $47--I nearly fell over when told the price. My regular salon (not in the local area) doesn't even charge that much for a full set! Never again!! Charlie's does pretty good work and my nails always turn out pretty however every time my friends and I go there, the prices change for the services. Today I got a full set with pink gel french tip. The owner claims that I was charged 25$ because I got a pink french tip color over the white french tip which would have been 10$. Not only do they not have their prices posted, they do services that you didn't ask for and charge you for it! The one lady cut my mom's toenail so short that it bled the next day. The guy that did my nails kept trying to flirt with me even though I made it clear I wasn't in the mood to talk. Which wouldn't have been something to complain about, if he had painted my full nails. On my right hand, I was missing almost a quarter inch around the nail beds. And when we went to leave, the owner chased after us because he charged us incorrectly. Great experience. Very relaxing environment with lowlighting and very nice nail technicians. Grand opening was two weeks ago abd they're running a special now but they took their time. I won't complain about the 5 minute leg massage included in my pedicure. I had a gel mani and pedi and a great massage in their massage chair. I will return. I wouldn't even rate it a 1! They deserve a zero! The most ridiculous priced place I have ever been too for a nail job that was by far not what I asked for. I took my cousin for the first time. We had called and questioned their pricing. Was told $40 full set. when in reality that's not the case by far! My cousin had her nails medium length and my nails were short. Our bill was $170! The owner did my cousins and never once told her that her normal length nails would be $50 more in price and $15 for the gel polish. And I got charged for "short nails" and for a clear coat as the owner and lady doing my nails said it was dumb to just have a clear coat! Save yourself the money and go somewhere else! They are no where near as good as they charge! Worst part was I saw fire hazards (tape around plugs and outlets). There is no way that is safe! read more

This salon overcharges and falsely charges customers the way they want. Quite honestly unethical and robbing their customers. There are no set prices and prices are randomly made up as you ask for them. I believe in great customer service...especially in a nail salon-where there is another nail salon everywhere these days. While they do nice work for the most part, the salon is dirty and unprofessional. If the owner does your nails, expect for him to leave you multiple times to attend to phone and cashing out, etc. The service ends up being so much longer than it should ever possibly take. With all of this being said I have always continued to patronize this salon because they do nice work - even if it is overpriced. This past weekend I brought my daughter in there to get pedicure. The owner arbitrarily made up a random price to remove some gel polish off of her toenails. He wanted to charge over $15 just to remove the polish off of her nails. When I questioned it, he got irate and angry. We finally left the salon and on the way out he said "if you don't have money then don't come here." I've never been so insulted in my life. This had nothing to do with the money. I have no problem spending money for good service. But I will not be ripped off and I absolutely will never be belittled from someone I am paying for services from. In a world where there are so many other nail salons, I highly recommend you choose a different salon that's going to treat you much better. read more

I've been coming here for a few years, and every time I have come here the price has increased. It is literally ridiculous. I paid $130. for a French full set. He makes prices up as he goes. I will drive to Philly for better and more affordable , real nail techs. I have changed my mind mid set on SIMPLE (lines!) designs before because he looks like he has an attitude to do them. We've had small talk before but these are things I have mentally noted. He does good work, but for 130$ I expect a hand massage towel and cuticle oil and some crazy designs or gems or SOMETHING As a nail conessouir unfortunately I say don't go here. Also he needs to differentiate lengths everything isn't considered "long" you just make it that way to up charge people. And tbh I don't think he cares about his customers enough to even read these comments, but he should and change the way he few things before he has none. AND after paying 130 asks if my tip is in cash? Are you crazy? the entitlement kills me, you get what I give whether card or cash, what if someone did not want to tip you. My husband and I were walk-ins for pedicures. Everyone is very friendly and the salon is clean and modern. We splurged for the extra callous remover treatment (only $5) and it was worth every penny. My feet are human again. I'm very hard on my feet they just get rough and beat up. Our tech made me look and feel great! The only thing is GPS wanted to drop me off in the middle of the road...it was a little hard to find for newcomers. It's next to Boscov's tucked away in the corner. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS PRICING! Went to have my nails filed and was charged $25 for a 10 minute service. The worst!!!!!

Depends who you get I guess. My mother and I both had pedicures and for some reason the girl who I had 1. Did not use the scrubber that comes in the kit like my mom had. 2. Told me the polish I chose was not a good color choicr for a pedicure only a manicure as it was "too light." (This is the same color I always get and what I wanted. 3. Messed up my big toe and did a horrible job correcting where you could still clearly see it was messed up. 4. Messed up big toe bc for some reason decided to put sandles on my feet AFTER they were just painted. No appologies and infact acted annoyed that I messed them up after She was the one who was quick to try to put them on fresh paint. I stated I would tather just wait since the paint was wet and she shoved them on anyway. So for my money I got no scrub and messed up color. At least the man who my mother had went through all the steps and did't mess up her color and didn't have an attitude. Very disappointed. Would not recommend. Will not be back. read more

So far, so good. Had my nails done twice. Had a concern because other places would have me wash my hands at the sink after the filing/buffing to get all the dust off. They didn't. I thought for sure i would have had major chipping. I am on my third week with gel polish and no chips or cracks. Very impressed! Fast service. Just wish the price would be the same cash or credit card. Shouldn't be a $3-$4 more just to pay with credit. I could see .50 or $1 service fee to use credit. read more

I was getting a refill on my acrylics and the lady drilled a hole in the side of the natural nail I have growing out and was leaving scratches on my hands up with the sander. My finger nails are in pain. Upon realizing I'm upset one guy came to take over and tried telling me I was going to have to pay to get a new tip put on! I told him I wasnt going to pay for it since the lady messed my nails up in the first place and his exact words were "okay, its fine this time, but youll have to get it replaced next time" after that he gunked on the acrylic and sanded under my nails as carelessly as the lady and broke the natural nail underneath! I asked for a silver design and I got white. DO NOT go to this place if you're trying to find a regular nail salon. I have never had an experience this bad. read more

I went for a mani/pedi my fingernails are smudged and polish stains on 2 fingers. They have a pamphlet listing prices. $40 for a mani/pedi. They charged me $54. When I asked why so much the owner or manager I'm not sure which, he got rude and walked away from me. I've been going there for a year and they always change prices, $25, $27, $31. They said my mani/pedi was more because i have acrylic fingernails. My fingernails are my own. Dont go there unless you want to pay whatever they feel like charging. read more

Very Dark, no magazines or posted prices. The technicians barely spoke to me in more than a mumble. They blasted foreign techno karaoke and the jet malfunctioned in my pedicure basin and sprayed up, soaking my dress and underwear completely. Not a pleasant overall experience and I'm not entirely sure how clean the tools were. I watched my technician just put his cuticle cleaners/clippers just back in a random drawer.
