Fresh meats, sausages, bacon, and the aroma coming from this place was incredible. They have occasional deals which are posted on Facebook which sell out pretty fast. And for good reason. The meals are worth every penny, delicious, fresh and an incredible deal. I ordered the bbq ribs and they were so tender and juicy. One slab was slightly overcooked but for the most part they were amazing. We liked our fingers with every bite. The meals are easily good for 3-4 people. For $24 we got 2 slabs of ribs, hot potatoe salad loaded with bacon and a gigantic portion of coleslaw. At any restaurant it easily would of cost $60 plus dollars. On weekends they smoke some brisket or Montreal smoked meats and I definetly want to try them. I ordereda fresh garlic sausage and it was so delicious with a hint of spice which was perfect for breakfast and in pastas!!! Gotta try this place if you haven't. Its a hidden gem. read more

I love Charlie's Place. The main draw for my family is their pastrami/Montreal smoked meat Saturdays which has fed many a large man on game night at our house over the years. I've also picked up many tasty meat treats along the way, like smoked turkey legs, beautiful little pork cutlets, smokies, steak and kidney pie (great pastry!) and ground beef. I find myself purchasing more things recently to support local, but also because the prices are competitive and the quality is high. The staff is also friendly, despite the somewhat snarky artwork on the building (ever think that growing up on a farm might be a privilege few get to experience these days?). Forget all that Albertan bluster and enjoy the product. Highly recommended! read more

Tried eating here multiple times. Can never get food. Always sold out. Some kind of weird online Facebook ordering system.

We have many times ordered the meal deals they have. Pulled pork with Fresh Buns and Coleslaw. Ribs with Warm Potato Salad. An amazing deal and so much food. One order is enough to feed my family of 4! Super easy to place an order, we usually comment on their Facebook post that announces that days deal. We've also purchased meat and Pot Pies here as well. Everything is great, tasty and inexpensive. Very friendly staff and a nice local shop that we love supporting. Trust, try the ready made dinners you won't regret it! read more

I've been frequenting Charlie's since they opened whenever I'm in the market for some higher quality meats for entertaining...or just to treat myself and family to damn good food. The cuts of meat are far superior to what you can find in any grocery store. Aged to perfection and tender. So very good. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Always willing to educate and offer their expertise when questioned. They offer farm fresh eggs, pies, perogies to name a few. Pleased with everything I have bought here. Charlies Place has recently changed to new management. I had a horrible experience here when I went in since the change. The counter generally has quite a bit of a product so I requested a larger amount of an item where I was told "You should have known to preorder this" I was unaware of the you must preorder rule. I had other items set aside for my purchase when I was told "have a nice day" and asked to leave. I'm all for educating a customer, had I known that it was mandatory for pre order I most definitely would have. At the bare minimum I would have liked to have been able to get the rest of the items on my list. 0/10 experience I will NOT be going back nor will I support this business. read more

After being treated poorly by Real Deal meats for the last time I figured I needed to find a new butcher shop. Best decision I've ever made! I love that you can see everything that is going on here. And I was able to make special requests for cuts and quantities. The pork chops! Best I've ever had. And their beef jerky is to die for. Wouldn't recommend anywhere else. read more

Please go here. Last night got the brisket take out supper. A huge steaming pile of sliced brisket and I litre of yummy home style slaw. Plus the best biggest buns ever. Sooo fresh. For $15. Me and my meat loving wife had brisket sliced perfectly for supper AND lunch. This place also serves AMAZING steaks. Get them to cut 2 1/2 inch New York strip steaks for family reunion. So tender and juicy. 2 x better than the Keg 10 x better than Montana's. Plus don't forget the beef jerky. Barely made it the long 10 min drive home. Mmmmm Please treat yourself. You gotta shop here. So i have to say i love this little shop and how its a local business. The best part is that Charlie the owner is a very kind man who would give you the coat off his back if you were out in the cold. Now on to the delectable selection of meat!! I bought a good 100$ worth of deboned hutterite chicken(one of the nice men deboned it right there for me took 10mins), two types of beef jerky (regular and teriyaki), fresh eggs12, two steak cuts( which colleen helped me pick out since i hate having lots of fat in my steak she chose a new York style of cut for me which apparently has less fat marbling in it), two types of perogies cottage cheese and cheddar, and a couple pounds of bison hamburger. Now i have to say that chicken in my lasagna made it that much better tasting with this quality of chicken. And the leftover chicken i used for sandwiches just is so much better from the grocery store. The beef jerky my own grandfather likes charlies style of jerky and he smokes his own on the farm! Not gonna lie though i did eat a lot of that teriyaki jerky myself. The fact that a lot of his meats are vaccum packed is a blessing cause i wont be spending as much on my own ziplocs. The difference between the quality of food you get at charlies compared to a chain store like m&ms or sobeys or Safeway is that there is way more selection and you can have your meat specified with the cut to what you'd like for preparing your meal. Also wont have to worry about gmos. They will also butcher any hunted meat (deer, etc) for you as bonus for many hunters. They have smoking chips if you need them with all different flavors for those of you whipping out your smoker soon!. Charlie seems interested in expanding as well and starting on some ready meals like pot pies and whatnot can't wait for summer to kick into high gear with bbqing Charlie's yummy selections!! read more
