A few weeks ago I needed to have my water heater repaired and called Charlie's. After his man repaired it, it still wouldn't work, and the plumber told me to call an electrician, which I did. I found out there was an electrical short in the heater, which should have been evidenced before a repair was made. I called Charles Plumbing to see if they could fix the leaky kitchen sink drain baskets. They showed up after we discussed the repair and what time would be good to come by. Burning down the house! They don't give the quality of work they used to. I've used them for years and was happy, but not anymore. I learned my lesson recently. In 2023, they installed a new propane water heater in my laundry room. I questioned the tech why he used a plastic drain pan under my water heater. He said that's all he had in his truck, and it was OK to use. I was concerned about the pilot light right next to the plastic pan. He told me not to worry and that there's no need to call the shop because they'd say the same thing. His welding quality was poor. I called Charlie's and was told to immediately turn the gas off. They would need to pull the water heater out and put the correct pan underneath, as it was very dangerous. The new tech said all the welds needed to be redone as well. In January 2024, I figured I'd give them a second chance and hired them to change my outside hose bibs. How hard could that be or be dangerous? Wrong!!! The plumber tells me he's turning the main water off. I told him I wanted to fill a water pitcher with water first. Thank God I did? I'm sitting in my Fl. room and the plumber outside my window are starting to change my faucet bib. He starts yelling and cussing, I see large flames shooting up the side of my house. He was using a torch and caught my siding on fire. He had no water, so he's using a shop vac to try and blow out the flames (really), of course, it gets worse. He's trying to use his hands to put out the flames. Not a good idea. I run out with my pitcher of water and get most of it out while he goes next door and uses my neighbor's water hose to put the remaining flames out. I felt bad that he burned his hands. I was looking at melted vinyl siding, insulation, and charred wood. The The propane line going into my house was about a foot away from the area. Total negligence. John, the owner's son, came out and supervised the remaining installation of the few hose bibs. They didn't charge me, but they really would have the nerve if they did. I spent months dealing with Charlie, trying to get my siding repaired. He didn't want me to notify his insurance and wanted to get his plumber to fix it. I finally got the damaged area repaired 4 months later. The siding doesn't match, but they said since my siding was about 20 years old, it was difficult to find a match. The color is off, and my original siding is flat, and what they put on has a curve to it. It's very noticeable that they don't match. I called Charlie and asked as a courtesy for the inconvenience, and my home was not made whole again, lessening its market value, could he install my 2-bathroom faucets in my small, simple sinks. I've done it a few times myself years ago, but with my back issues, I don't think I should. He said NO!! I spent too much money paying my staff to fix your siding, and hung up on me. Never again! He's hiring unqualified plumbers, and they just don't care about the quality of work they do. Stay away if you don't want your house to burn down!! read more

You have to to decide If you're going to go with the cheapest Or one of the best. Frank Cornell is one of the most professional tradesmen I've ever met. He's a no-nonsense guy who's been around a long long time. If you looking for the cheapest, go somewhere else, if you're looking for the most expensive plumber, go somewhere else. But I can tell you if you call Frank Cornell from Charlies plumbing, you're going to get a guy who loves what he does and just charges you the going rate. I highly recommend this place; he had to solder copper tubing in my bathroom and he did a fantastic job. I will be using Frank to do the rest of the plumbing within the next month or so when I re-do my bathroom. Update one week later: HOWEVER........ After paying Frank, I received the bill/invoice in the mail from the office and I had to call them and tell them that I had already paid Frank with a check; as of this riding, I called them and they said no problem and I hope I don't get another invoice or some erroneous paperwork that I still owe them. As a Do It Yourselfer, there are plenty of times those 'big box' stores just don't carry the supplies you need for a proper plumbing repair. I've found that more and more I just head straight to Charlie's Plumbing to get the right stuff I need and in just one trip. My last repair job involved fixing a sewer cleanout that got mangled by a riding lawnmower! The cleanout plug was obscured by overgrown grass and those blades did a number on that mere PVC! Shattered the thing down into the main coupling and all! (I was not the mower jockey! LOL) Walking in to Charlie's with my lengthy list of needed repair supplies, I was happily greeted and then skillfully assisted by Scott. This man went out of his way to ensure I got everything I needed and then some. He even answered a few questions I had about the repair. Pro Tips, no extra charge! Charlie's plumbing came out to fix a clog the same day! Most companies you call septic or plumbing can't come out the same day. They are friendly, informative and kind. They aren't out to overcharge you and they work fast. I was recommended to them by Cliffs septic who also informed me that my drain issue was a plumbing issue not a septic issue. I have had to use their services twice so far, and both times were absolutely outstanding! First a severely clogged kitchen sink, where he had to fix what the last guy had done (in a totally half-a$$ed way). They sent a very pleasant gent who cheerfully explained - at my request - what had to be done, and why, and now I have fully functional drainage. Then I had a bad bathroom sink leak. New to trailer living I didn't even know where the water shut off was. When this gent arrived he promptly figured it out and showed me exactly where it was and how to deal with it next time. He replaced the pipe with the hole in barely a half hour, and willingly explained a few things vastly useful to a relative beginner, all without making me feel like a fool. I called charlie's plumber to look at a potential leak coming through the baseboard, he told us he had never seen this before and there was nothing he could do. He was at my house for 10 minutes and I had to pay him 110.00 for doing nothing. I was NOT told when I called that I would still have to pay if they do not do a job. Scheduled these guys a week in advance. Called them the day before to verify. They didn't call me. They acted like they didn't know what I was calling about. Finally they said yes they would be there the next day "anytime". Waited all day the next day and no one ever called or came out. Called them back and it took them several minutes to answer. Finally some guy says who scheduled you? And not sure why someone didn't show up but they can put a ticket in for tomorrow. No thanks. My first dealing with them was great which is why I tried to use them again but this time was ridiculous. read more

I can't thank you enough, so grateful for Charles's plumbing came to rescue on the very last minutes Friday long holidays weekend. I called 4:35pm my business flooded was uncertain of receiving help with my current plumber I had for over 9 yrs. (their's office closed at 4pm and no one show up as of 4:35pm).
