What stood out most was how well he blended the haircut into the beard. The sides look cleaner without being too tight, and the beard has a defined shape without looking overdone or overly sharp. They can't cut white people beards. They do a good job in a timely fashion, the down side is they can't cut white peoples hair. I shave my head and go there for beard trim and everytime I've gone the past two years I've walked out looking like a white Rick Ross. It doesn't matter which barber I had. They're still open during this strange day and age. Everything's online, and you can reserve a time and pay (and tip) in advance. I'm not a huge fan of tipping in advance; it seems to defeat the point of tipping as it removes it from whatever service you actually receive and basically just makes it an extra cost. But I had no second thoughts about it in this case, as I was received in a timely fashion, got a sharp cut and beard trim that people noticed, and had a good customer service experience. Well there goes an hour of my life I'll never get back lol. Bottom line: bad processes for appointment times, poor service, and a mix of friendly / unfriendly barbers. I made an apt online with Marcus who is mysteriously listed individually on Yelp. That required me pre paying with a credit card which was annoying and confusing. Since I had already paid for the appointment online, I expected the barber would be there. I showed up at the shop and at 3 o'clock for my appointment and 3:05, 310, 315... There was no Marcus. No one in the shop really explain to me what was going on it's as if Marcus has his own business in there and is late or flakes out on appointments all the time. There was also some borderline homophobic banter going on among the guys, a little bit of "that's so gay..." (derogatory) etc which made the overall vibe pretty macho and unwelcoming on top of the lack of organization. One of the barbers offered to give me a cut next and after waiting, we realized that there was someone there who had already had an appointment with him. Bottom line is: I would not suggest going here If you expect basic customer service and the ability to make / keep an appointment. There should be one way to make appointments, and the barbers should keep each other accountable for showing up if they are in the same business together. I really hope this place gets it together because it has such potential to be a great job with just a bit more organization and customer service. read more

This is my new go to spot to get my hair cut. Located right in Plaza Midwood close to all the action. The guys in here are super laid back and always welcoming to new faces. I've been coming in for a few months now and I've been completely satisfied every time. It's always tough finding a new barber! But every guy in here knows his way around the scissors and trimmers. If you don't know who to set up and appointment for just walk in your first time and they will help you out. But don't miss their easy mobile appointment set up. You can't find it through searching them up or checking their social media pages. I recently moved to the Plaza Midwood area and tried this place and was impressed with each barber I've tried. I typically do walk in and never wait more than 5 minutes to get started. Each barber is an expert at their craft and while I do a simple buzz cut, I see some barbers working on some unique hair style. For a beard and hair cut it runs about $45 without tip. But each time I go I never have to worry about the outcome of my haircut. So I think the price is definitely worth the quality of the haircut. The guys and girls in the shop are super friendly and always make me laugh. The sides are totally uneven, he has super thick hair and wanted length left (he's been growing it for a while now) and this guy ruined it. I wear a tall pompadour and this is the only place in Charlotte that has cut it right. I don't go often enough. Return customer this was my 2nd visit to the shop, even though I sat with a different barber this time I still expected the same quality of service. After getting home I realized that I had to touch up a few areas on my own and that I had 2 razor cuts, and I only received half the beard trim service than my first time so I had to touch that up as well. I was also very surprised that the guy charged me 30 bucks for this but still I didn't think nothing of it gave him a 5 dollar tip and walked out. I will be taking my business elsewhere. This is a review for Marcus. I wont lie, I was nervous to go after I read the previous review for Marcus. I had my girlfriend call around and set up my appointment so I had really no background on this place besides what they have on Yelp. Real small place, actually inside a salon. The hair cut was good. I also am asian and apparently have different hair making it harder to cut. He did a great job, clean edges and smooth fade. I did notice the other barber giving a straight razor shave to his client on the back of the neck. Marcus didnt do this but I really dont care that much about it so it didnt bother me. I asked for an inch off the top, he cut off what looked to be an inch. Did I measure? No that would be weird, but it seemed to be accurate. Def call ahead and schedule an appointment. Doesnt look like they have much room for walk-ins. read more
