Wonderful beer garden. Every beer imaginable and friendly . If they don't have a beer you want, you don't want beer.

I like the spaciousness of this establishment. And it's so many beer choices, of course. Our waitress was knowledgable also.

Burrata- soft cheese and well toasted garlic bread. Great vegetarian option.

We visited this spot on Saturday night. Mixed crowd. Three floors of music and drinks? Yeah, thats my type of vibe. Ample seating. The tree in the middle of the restaurant/bar adds a slightly romantic theme to the place. It's giving an elevated Tarzan vibe. Great for pictures. Too many beer options to count so we ordered mixed drinks. We tried 3 different appetizers. Mac and cheese bites, tuna wontons and burrata. My favorite appetizer was the tuna wontons even though it was messy, it was super flavorful. I've never had eel sauce and I didn't think twice about it after I started eating. The burrata was good. A nice shareable appetizer. But Mac and cheese bites left much to be desired. I needed a little something extra to make it stand out. You pretty much gotta pay for parking but it was like $10 for 6 hours so not bad. Get the ParkMobile app. I would definitely visit this place again.

Whatever you want, you'll find it here!! 3 floors of mighty beer and booze goodness. A solid menu at reasonable prices. And if you need more than that...wine, cocktails, rooftop bar, outside dining...cool lounge vibe, great people. What do you want? You'll find it here. Or you're just not looking hard enough!

Went here today for lunch and to watch the Duke basketball game. Over 400 beers and the filet sliders are always amazing. The service was lacking honestly. The bartender seemed very annoyed in general. When I say thank you there is no response or service with a smile. Maybe we just caught her on a bad day but overall have loved this place and will be back. We were on the second floor. Restaurant was clean.

I think they have a thousand separate beers here. If you're going to try to drink them all, you'll leave with liver damage. I didn't try. Early afternoon and not quite ready to head home, I stopped here with my laptop. There's nothing wrong with cranking out a couple Yelp reviews with a frosty beverage next to your computer, right? Friendly beertenders who know a ton. Are you looking for something specific? Just ask. [Review 509 of 2025 - 4111 in North Carolina - 24071 overall]

Great service, food AND beer! I went with my family on a Saturday for dinner and ordered a Hazy IPA that the waiter recommended and it was sooo juicy and good! We also ordered the Caprese pizza, quesadillas and the poutine fries. The place is dimly lit and perfect for a night out.

"I might move to Charlotte," I say in awe, as I walk into the Charlotte Beer Garden. My backpack is still on from the airplane, and I'm here to burn some time before hotel checkin. There are three levels of beer with a tree inside and a rooftop bar. Every employee encountered was helpful and welcoming. 400+ taps (bartender couldn't remember if it was 427 or 438... I can't count that high either.) Arriving from pittsburgh, this spot is exactly what I needed to start a weekend.

Charlotte Beer Garden is a lot of fun! I love the aesthetic of the outside, and the inside of the restaurant is no less visually appealing! There are three (3) floors, with the top floor having an awesome balcony setup. I haven't spent much time on the ground floor, but I love the middle floor as well, as that appears to be where they store their brewing apparatus, as well as TVs to watch the sports games on. It's also a great place to meet people and socialize, and I've always found the staff to be very friendly! Would recommend!

Stopped by on a Wednesday around 2pm. Sat down in one of the couches for a couple beers and a sandwich. All the employees were lounging on the next couch talking with a beer rep from Hi Wire. They were attentive to our order. Making sure our glasses were full and grabbed our food. Unfortunately a couple of the beers tasted as though the lines hadn't been cleaned/replaced in a while. My IPA was a bit off. My sandwich was great. Looking around under tables and on the benches, it was obvious it wasn't cleaned from the night before.. Old fries, straws, limes, etc still littering the floor. Overall it is a decent place. Helluva beer selection with some rarities. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was good. Unfortunately very dirty and the beer lines could use more attention.

    Rick T.

Each floor has something different to offer beer wise. The first floor is for spirits. Pretty unique beers found on the second floor. Staff were quick to accommodate us for drinks. Parking is difficult.

Do you accept Apple Pay or mobile payment cards?

I've only been given the option of paying card or cash. They use a handheld device to take CC payments. I haven't seen Apple or Samsung Pay option.

    Is there free parking?

    No there is not.

Is this place 21+? Wondering if I can bring my 18 year old sister.

    Yes we went with kids!

Are there any interesting nonalc options? Like kombuchas/n/a ciders...? I really really want beer but trying to go out and be social while pregnant.

You can go to their website and see all their tap list items. They have over 100.

Despite the crowd, it was quick to get drinks at any of their bars (under 5 min wait in line). Unfortunately, I also wanted food and that wait was extremely long. You can order food on their app or at one of the registers on the 1st floor. The cashier ringing me up quoted me 45 minutes before taking my order. It ended up being 70 minutes. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap and it came with a side. I picked fries. They text you when the food is ready to be picked up. The wrap and fries were average and definitely not worth the wait. My friend got their pretzel sticks appetizer. Her food was delicious. All the employees were in good spirits! The brewery is indoors and outdoors with tables sprinkled throughout. After 20 minutes of searching, we found a table inside. I would try this place again simply for their pretzel sticks, but would make sure it's not during a busy game day if I'm super hungry.

Beer Good, Food... eh not so good…read more We visited Olde Mecklenburg Brewery looking forward to great beer and a good meal. The beer definitely lived up to expectations, everything we tried was enjoyable. One small suggestion: the experience would be even better if the beer glasses were chilled or frosted. Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. We ordered the BBQ special, which was advertised as in-house smoked brisket. The brisket was incredibly dry... to the point that it tasted like leather. The slices were dried out, tough, and honestly looked like they had been sitting for far too long. It was so bad that both of us sent our meals back. The manager did make things right by removing some of the food items from our bill, and I appreciate that effort. However, it's disappointing that the kitchen, and ultimately management, allowed brisket in that condition to be plated and served in the first place. It was obvious from looking at it that the meat was dried out and should never have left the kitchen. I'd come back for the beer, but after this experience, I don't see myself returning for the food. If I visit again, it'll likely be for drinks only.

And while much of the experience is the same, including the delicious beer and tasty Bavarian pretzels, everything else feels sterile and a bit hollow. The high-ceilinged interior is noisy and crowded, making it hard to carry on a conversation. And the outdoor tables on restaurant's front patio feel worlds away from the action. In South End, the beer garden is one of the best spots in Charlotte to enjoy a brew. The fun, spacious setting is the perfect complement to OMB's authentic German beers, making you feel like you're sitting in Munich's English Gardens during Oktoberfest. But the Ballantyne location lacks any of that character, feeling instead like a typical outdoor space at any brewery in Charlotte. There's still a lot to like about OMB's Ballantyne location -- the service was solid, parking was easy and the beer, as always, was outstanding. And if you're dining at one of the other restaurants in the Bowl, it's great to be able to stop by here after for a Copper or a Captain Jack. But given the choice, I'd go to the OG location every time.
