Unlike what is left of the Charlotte libraries, I never left a Lee county library empty handed. Unfortunately, I believe the reason for that is the difference in the size of the population. I'm sure Lee gets a much larger amount of funding. So much so that they have enough books to actually seperate them by type, making it easier to find what you're looking for. There is no excuse I can think of to not have a complete set of a series though. Has happened to me enough times that I no longer take out any part of a series. I tend to just be glad we have a library at all considering the state of things today. Overall I believe these people are doing the best they can with what they have to work with.

Fiction is no better - as an example, they'll have one book from a series of seven, maybe 3 books from a series of 15 and a 32-book series has only 10 books - and they're not in series order. Nobody will answer the phone. I've been trying to call for two weeks and never got an answer. I had no idea how to even write because the recording cuts off halfway through tell you the address. This jail needs a complete reorganization from top to bottom and apparently more personnel if they can't answer any of their phones.. I finally had to call the clerk of the court to get some inside direct numbers and got a person to answer in records to find out if my son was even in this jail because on the website it said the jail was closed! Really, closed? I read that there's over 3000 people in the jail and it's and they're sleeping on the floor because the system is too slow in processing and you need more judges to hear the cases.The only way that a person can get medical attention is if you write to them I was told to find out if they need it! Then you report it to them can you imagine how asinine that is. I'm speaking as a doctor and very concerned about this policy. This gel is responsible to be sure people are not in jeopardy of dying because they can't get any attention that they need medically. The prisoners now also get tablets so they don't have any real visitation which I find to be inhumane. Visitation is done via video and letters are put on the tablet and they can read their tablet. I read the jail is extremely overcrowded so apparently they need to improve their organization and the judges need to hear more cases in a quick fashion instead of making the inmates wait for months in the jail when they may not even be guilty!

Listen I'm not condoning any person for having a visit to this place, and I don't have enough…read moreexperience to know if this is normal at other jails but I just thought everyone would get a chuckle with a review of the intake department. The entire department of intake guards is just the sheriffs department rejects. None of them have even spent a minute in a gym and the majority of them look as if they just got done eating 7 donuts. their only upper hand is that they have weapons while you have your hands cuffed. I watched one guy get taken back behind curtains and beat by 4 guards who would otherwise struggle in a fair environment, all because he made a joke about how the know-it-all guard was short. He's Hispanic/asian and is trying to grow a beard but it's a struggle for him. The inmates frequently pick on him for being short, and He thought he was cool by putting me in solitary because "I didn't look like I respected him," to which I replied that respect was earned not given. That was his green light to handcuff me, throw me into a cell, and rip apart my single sheet of paper with phone numbers. Mind you, I was arrested for a suspended license and was released same day. I did nothing violent, was quiet, posed no harm to anybody. The night time guards pretty much all of them were super reasonable and even helpful at times, and would converse or even joke a bit with you. However, the day time guards it's pretty obvious they're picked on frequently and were likely bullied when younger. I get that they're dealing with some terrible people, but they also deal with folks who made a very simple mistake and are just trying to be released. They're extremely self conscious and it's obvious that they know that if they were on and even field with the inmates that they wouldn't be nearly as confident. Yelling, speaking with a fake deep voice does not change the fact that people don't respect this group of Scorned sheriffs rejects. You have grown women out in squad cars risking their lives but then you have this group of losers sitting in intake knowing they weren't brave or qualified enough to do what the real sheriffs do
