I initially went to Dr. Gear for a breast reduction because I had had implants put in (many years ago) that were too big for my small frame. As time went by, they became cumbersome and unsightly. During the consultation I mentioned that I was also uncomfortable with a fold of skin that practically covered my belly button, as I wear a two-piece bathing suit and want to continue doing so for years to come. Dr. Gear explained that the procedure for that would be a tummy tuck but advised against it because my stomach was otherwise flat with little fat. He explained in detail the recovery that this procedure entails and the scar it creates. But ultimately left the decision to me. I went ahead with both procedures. I'm not going to lie; the recovery was uncomfortable. Never painful (to me), just uncomfortable. But Dr. Gear and his staff were there every step of the way to answer any questions and address any concerns I had, either through the Symplast app or in person. It was the best decision I've made in a long time. And although it sounds vain and shallow these things profoundly affect our self-worth. The procedures have changed my life by changing my perception of myself, and how I carry myself. Six months later I couldn't be happier with the outcome. My clothes look better on me, I'm more comfortable in my skin and I've even started jogging again without being bogged down with the excess weight of too-big breasts. Unfortunately there isn't an official Yelp page for the 7th St location. Fortunately for me I received a referral from a co-worker to see PA Rudd. I can't begin to tell you how good she is at her job, but i'll try. Initially I was nervous because I had two dermatologist in Charlotte prior, and they both suffered from the same assembly line style rushed consultation and appointments. I would sit there after waiting however long, and when I was finally seen I never felt comfortable or understood. My questions would often go unanswered just from the sheer quickness of the checklist style in and out from the doctor. Ultimately I always felt like I was wasting my time, and money...but on to the good news. Immediately Natasha comes in with open ears, and a world of knowledge. I had several questions, some I tried to answer for myself by doing research. Not just the wbMD quick google search, but a "deep dive". Natasha quickly debunked any and all misinformation I had gotten off the internet, or even through past dermatologist. She presented me with facts, but also several solutions. I can't recommend this location enough. Your time will be maximized, your knowledge of skin care, and how to feel confidence in using the right products at home will grow. Again, I have had this procedure done many times in the past with NO burns on my skin, just peeling. Now, I have to hope that these burns heal and do not leave a scar. As for unkind words, I finally called Terri back and I was appauled when I was told that I "ruined her day off" and now her Sunday, and proceeded to tell me I was overreacting because I married younger man and I am insecure ? really? Look at the pictures, I was burned and she could not take a step back beyond her own ego to even apologize or offer any help.
