What ensued was a harsh lesson in 'final sales' that was apparently more important for her ego than the additional money was for her cash drawer.

She grabbed both of my hands and dug her nails into my palms whilst gripping my hands very hard and not letting me go! I told her to let go and asked her why did she do that? She said, oh it didn't hurt. I have it on video! I'll show you! She then turned around and said, No, I don't have to show you! I told her I was going to call the police because she assaulted me and she laughed and again tried to grab my hands! I was able to pull away before she hurt me again! She screamed at me to leave her store which I did. I was in shock and couldn't believe what had just occurred. By now my right hand which is compromised from a previous injury was throbbing and I was in a lot of pain. I called the police and they took my information and my friend's information who witnessed the entire episode. l have filed an assault and battery report.

The owner of the store is also the owner and designer of the brand, so the selection is vastly Kerry Cassill. The theme is natural, block print type textile designs, yet the designs change frequently (several times per year) and then they are done as in- you can only find them on E-bay. I am a fan. For me, it's all about the bedding at this store. Although I do have 2 dresses which always score points when I wear them. (My wrap dress is amazing!) The cotton is ultra soft and airy, perfect for Southern California climate. The bedding is fabulouse. the designs are diverse enough that you can go hof wild on the ultra "bohemian" or even hippie look by getting all her options for teh room/and or dining options. Or as I prefer to do, I mix and match I love her more graphic prints which I pair with modern furniture or mixed with more subdued and solid bedding it looks ultra cool, modern yet earthy, But- hey-it's just my opinion. I have a couple dresses, a few tunics (amazing beach wear by the way) and a half a dozen bedding sets. I love them all and as I said they are perfect to mix and match with your other household gear. This is definitely not strictly "sets" only type stuff. She wore it again, and it ripped terribly, not even on a seam. We were aware of the no return policy at this store, and assumed it would be okay to exchange a defective item for an exact replacement. We took it back to the store but the manager was not in. The sales clerk saw the same exact skirt so we purchased it right away since it was the last one left, another $130. She said the store manager would be in the next day and she would have to approve the return. So, the next day I took the defective item to the store manager, she called the manufacturer, and they said okay to a return authorization. I left the defective skirt with her, as she said I did not need to return to the store since a credit could be issued without my presence, after she got approval from the store owner. I was expecting a credit refund because of the extenuating circumstances, or at the VERY LEAST a store credit for the defective item. Imagine my surprise when without even a phone call to explain why, the defective skirt was mailed back to us with a note saying "sorry, can't return it to the manufacturer." In my opinion, this is extremely poor customer service. A phone call to explain why they suddenly changed their mind would have been appreciated, as would a store credit for defective merchandise.

After the woman working there, the owner, asked if I needed any help, I explained to her that I was looking for a special occasion dress. She asked me a few questions regarding the color and style of the dress I was looking to wear and after that she pulled a few dresses which she thought fit that description and would flatter my figure. I tried on six dresses, many of them made by the owner herself, each time coming out of the dressing room to be assisted with the back zipper and with lovely feedback from her. We both ultimately decided on a beautiful dress that the owner had made herself. I found just about everything enjoyable in my experience at QT17.

I've been to this store a few times since then and have found the selection to be a bit of a disappointment. It's a small store and the selection of items is fairly limited. I saw some really cute things for Christmas, but that was about it. I wasn't greeted (or noticed at all, for that matter) for first couple of times I came in. The third time would be the charm, or so I thought. I went in to try on a blouse. Although I was only customer in the store, the three salespeople at the counter seemed to debate who would be forced to help the store's only customer. Since they were taking so long that I thought they might be drawing straws, and the one with the shortest straw, so to speak, finally came over to help me. I tried on the blouse on, but opened the dressing room door seconds later, the salesperson was no where to be found. Where could she have disappeared to in this very tiny store? Well, I put the blouse down and walked out of the store. Needless to say, I won't be going back anytime soon!
