Took my daughter for a procedure where they told me I could not be in the room during, cool, I compromised by saying I'd lay my daughter down and help them to strap her because I knew she was going to be wild and did not want STRANGERS man handling her. Well all was agreed, went in the room, laid her down and was told to leave... the second I went to leave she freaked out and was not strapped down yet. I was rushed out of the back area and to the waiting room where for 10 minutes I could hear my child screaming, mind you this was a 2 minute procedure had it been done correctly. Came home to find my daughter with finger marks on her wrists and bruises on her legs. Between the rude receptionist, doctor who was just trying to rush us in and out, I would not risk your child's safety and your sanity at this place. The employees should count their lucky stars we didn't see the marks before we left because she had a sweatshirt on.

A simple online review falls shorts of the recognition deserved by Dr Barrett Peters, DDS and his…read morestaff for what they've done to change one individual's life forever. But this story bears repeating: In August 2016 I invited my neighbor and her visiting non-American, non-English speaking family member Marina to our house for a family meal. As we sat around breaking bread and meeting this new family, I noticed how Marina carefully only selected a few items from our table and politely declined other foods and deserts we offered, simply pointing to her mouth and shaking her head "no". Marina explained (as our neighbor translated) that for nearly 3 years she was unable to eat or chew a variety of foods because it caused her too much tooth pain in all parts of her mouth and she didn't know why. I was heartbroken to hear of the poor quality of life and poor nutrition this young lady experienced daily as a result of this longstanding, dental pain. After pondering her situation for a few days I made contact with my friend at Dr. Barrett Peters, DDS of Piedmont Pediatric Dentistry, explained her the situation and asked if they could recommend someone locally to see Marina as a new patient prior to her going back to her home country (in a week or so). Although Dr. Peters' office specializes in children, they felt it best to take a look at her first and then give recommendations on whom to refer her to for further treatment. During his consult, Dr Peters made some astounding discoveries and agreed to take on Marina's case personally......and the rest is the stuff of story books. Dr. Barrett Peters, with the assistance of adult dentist Dr. Alex Wood from Starns and Wood Comprehensive Dentistry (next door), worked with Marina for over 4 hours, amidst broken English and unconventional findings. With my friend at the bedside translating they discovered that Marina had incompetent, prior work done with substandard dental elements buried in her gums and teeth. When Marina was finally informed of what the "root" causes of her pains were, she began crying TEARS OF JOY because she finally had relief and the hopes of a new mouth. Although I was not present during the procedure, my friend and her loved one Marina sang the praises of Dr. Peters, Dr. Wood and their dental assistants for their tremendous patience, compassion and diligent work to restore not only Marina's teeth but also her quality of life and her great appreciations for Americans. Marina has gone back to her home country with such admiration for the hard work of these clinicians and a new quality of life. She has no way of "liking" them on Facebook or telling her Yother relatives about the folks who worked compassionately to change her life. But the Bible tells us in Matthew 6:6, "Your Father in Heaven who sees what is done in secret will reward you." The Bible also promises us in Matthew 25:40 that "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me' ". Dr. Barrett Peters and Dr. Alex Wood, may God bless you and your practices for the selfless work you gave to this young lady in need.

Having to…read moreput a child to sleep to work on him/her is not a skill indicative of a specialization with children - in fact, it is more indicative that a person is not skilled at working with children. Then...asked me about insurance...told them I have a paid plan through work and she also has Medicaid since I am the grandmother and have custody so that is a medical insurance that is offered for free due to the custody situation. I was then told that they cannot take her because she had Medicaid, which is not her primary insurance?? All of a sudden they are at full capacity?? But if she just had the Delta insurance they would take her as a new patient, they even said if I canceled the Medicaid they would set up an appointment for he Seems very discriminative!! its a shame that we have a paid insurance and could pay for anything the insurance doesn't cover and they still would not take her as a new patient.

I…read morehave a few stubborn teeth that have chipped and re-chipped over the years, which was the reason for my appointment. They are so sharp that they cut holes in my retainer and make it uncomfortable to eat. The dental team refused to even smooth down my teeth because--this is a direct quote--"teeth are supposed to be sharp to cut your food". Instead they referred me to a physical therapist to correct a jaw misalignment, which they declared was the source of the teeth chipping. They said there's no use in fixing the painful teeth or getting a new retainer until my jaw is fixed. I've never had any problem with my jaw and no doctor or dentist has ever mentioned a misalignment before. It felt as if their sole job was to make referrals. Everything I said was ignored. They also told me that my insurance would cover x-rays including bitewings, which they then recanted and charged me for after the fact. It was beyond frustrating, and I still have chipped teeth. What a waste of time and money.
