Mario at Charly's Electronic Repair is a godsend. He was able to clean, diagnose and repair my Technics turntables and mixer after many years of not working after a trip to Burning Man. He cleaned the gear, made sure it was in good working order, and even replaced a few slider knobs. And when the decks had issues crop up - they each manifested an intermittent short on one channel about a week apart - he stood behind his work to make things right, even making a modification to one deck based on a YouTube video at my request. His prices are beyond reasonable in my opinion and he will work on things that would be a real hassle to get fixed in LA, SF, or Seattle. As a guy with lots of vintage and offbeat electronics, he has me looking around for other gear that could be revived with his help. We have a fairly new 75" Samsung 4K TV that went out (after the warranty expired). Samsung wanted an outrageous price just for the tech to come to my home and "look at it." I decided to try Charly's based on a friend's recommendation and I am glad I did. Mario came to my home and determined that it was the mother board that had gone out. He took the TV to his shop, did more tests, ordered the part, and returned the TV, remounted it and got everything working again. And his price was VERY reasonable. I had a problem with an old Bose321 entertainment system. I called Bose and they told me that because my system was too old they could not help me.I looked around for a place here in the Coachella Valley to repair it and everyone i talked to recommended Charly. I brought my system to his shop and 3 hours later he called with an estimate. I approved the estimate and 1 hour later he called to tell me it was done. Fixed and updated our vintage Grundig Majestic turntable and installed an updated tuner, CD player with bluetooth...They did it in such a way that it still looks like the original Grundig from the front ... the new stuff was mounted into the back of the unit...I had it repaired a few months ago but wanted to see if it held up and indeed...it has!
