I'm giving a one star because zero stars isn't an option. It's been a while since a business has gotten me this upset. My beloved chihuahua Sidney passed this morning after battling his issues regulating his glucose levels. To say I'm devastated would be an understatement. I cannot articulate the love I have for him. I made an arrangement to bring his body in for cremation. My appointment was at 11:30. I dropped him off approximately 11:40. I misplaced my purse, and Ive been in a fog most of the day after losing him. The drop off seemed to go smoothly. I made the arrangement to drop off with Zoey, who I believe is the owner or at least the manager. I asked about an urn I saw on the website. Zoey informed me that it likely would not fit Sidney, but she mentioned she had another option. It was similar but not exactly the same. I arrived to drop him off. I was met with a different staff member. The paperwork listed the $165 charge for the cremation and a $60 charge for the urn. I asked to see the Urn we would be getting. The staff member informed me that it must be a special order, and she wasn't sure what it would look like. She said she could have Zoey send me a photo, and then Zoey would CALL me to take the payment. I also asked about splitting the payment between two cards, as I had a $200 visa gift card I wanted to use. The staff member wasn't sure how that would work. I offered to just go ahead and pay the cremation. The staff member assured me it was fine, and that Zoey would CALL for the payment. Fast forward, I get home and decide to shower. I basically spent like half a hour sobbing in the shower. When I got out, I found that Zoey had sent me a photo, as well as the attached text message. No phone call. Ultimately, the staff member is responsible for retrieving payment at the time of drop off. She let me leave without paying, even though I offered to pay before I left. Furthermore, if you're going to offer a texting option, which I chose because I was too upset to speak at the time, then you need to have some sense of decorum about you. Zoey very clearly lacks that. A simple "hi, please let us know if now is a good time to discuss the urn and payment" would've worked fine. Losing my baby was hard enough. We fought so hard to keep him here, including a nearly $4,000 ER stay. He was so very loved. The idea that I would skip out on $165 and leave behind his remains with STRANGERS is absolutely insane. Zoey made this difficult day that much worse. I retrieved Sidney from these people, and when I arrived to pick him up, Zoey didn't even show her face. Rather, the same staff member brought him out. She didn't say a single word to me. I left from there, and I took him to Best Friend Pet Cremation in Parkville. They were much more empathetic. Long story short: if you want to be treated with empathy, I highly recommend another business.

My Beloved Pee Wee's beautiful urn, paw print and card. Everything was perfect!

There isn't enough that we can say about Zoey and her team! They came along side us, at one of the most devastating times that, my husband, Jacob and I have experienced - the loss of our first baby, Pee Wee, our 15 1/2 year old dachshund, whom we've had since he was 8 weeks old. They used the utmost care, compassion, and sensitivity that we never knew truly existed in the pet cremation industry. We also loved that they are family owned! Zoey showed up at our house, got our baby, and returned his ashes the very next day, which gave us much peace in our grief. Pee Wee came home to us in a gorgeous wooden urn, with his paw prints and a beautiful card wrapped in a gift bag. They treated us like family through the whole process and continued to check on us afterwards. It truly was the "the final gift" that we could have not only given Pee Wee, but that we could have gotten in return. I cannot say enough about Charm City Pet Crematory! If you are ever in need of this service, please don't give it a second thought. When the time comes again, we will return to CCPC for our needs because they are the very best and we know that our beloved pets will be treated with love and respect!

I was planning on taking her…read moreto Falls Road Animal Hospital where she was being treated, to be sent off for cremation. However, my friend suggested I take my fur baby to this place instead, because she was going there to pick up one of her pets' cremated remains. Since she wasn't sure on how to get to Falls Road Animal Hospital, I decided to ride with her to this place. After we arrived I was told that the total for my 9 lb dog would be a total of $283.00 (?!) which came with a very small wooden cheap urn - no memorial plaque included. The person that was assisting me was named David. After he took my fur baby's body from her carrier, and placed her on a table in a back room, I went to say my goodbyes to my precious fur baby. When I saw her on the table I noticed that there was some body fluid that was aligned with her nose inches away from her body. Which meant that he didn't take care with taking her out of her carrier to put her onto this table. When I left from the room, after saying my goodbyes and I love yous' to my fur baby, I noticed he had placed her carrier by the front door. I'm not sure if this is protocol or he just wanted me to hurry and leave after I paid $283.00 ??? I asked that some of her ashes be put into a different bag for her original human, before I adopted her. He told me that she would be ready for pick up in a few days, which should have included one of her favorite little teddy bears that was to be cremated with her. The same friend brought me back to this place to pick up my precious fur baby's ashes. The second guy that answered the door immediately looked at me, looked at my friend, whom happened to be white; and said , "She's first." He assumed that we weren't together; because I came into the door first. I don't know if it was racial bias; but it sure felt that way. After this disturbing event; all three of us went into a back office. He had my fur baby's ashes on the desk. When he handed her urn to me it there was no weight to it ?! Then he showed me her ashes that were inside a plastic bag; (if these were even my dog's ashes ???). I noticed that it was a very little amount for a 9 lb dog, which was very suspicious. Because of this odd amount, I researched the amount of my 9 lb. fur baby's ashes that I should've received. Her ashes should've equated to three to five pounds of cremated ashes ! And when I realized that it was way too little for my fur baby's ashes for her original human, in her bag. I asked if he could put a little bit more into her bag. When he did this he did not take proper care he opened up my bag of my precious baby's ashes and carelessly began to pour some into the other bag ! While he was doing this careless act, he spilled some of my baby's ashes onto the desk- ( again...if this was even my fur baby's ashes) and just non-chalantly swept my fur baby's ashes on to the floor !! In that moment, I regretted taking my friend's advice and to take my baby to this place ! Considering the way me and my precious fur was treated I really regret taking her to this place ! I regret not taking my precious fur baby to Falls Road Animal Hospital to be sent off for cremation. Because it was more affordable and she and I would have been treated more respectfully. And Falls Road gives you options of what type of urn you want for your fur baby; not some cheap box ! I must say, I do believe that my race played a part in the way me and my precious fur baby was treated ! I would never suggest anyone, especially POC, use this place if you truly love your fur baby. And if you want to be treated humanely during your grief of the loss of your precious fur baby !!

Leaving three stars because although they are really nice there and seem to genuinely care about…read moreanimals, I feel like they are too quick to recommend euthanasia. We brought my mom's cat in who had suddenly become very ill. The first thing the vet recommended was euthanasia, citing the cat's many health issues (heart failure, liver failure, kidney failure). Just a day prior the cat had been eating well and full of energy, even tried to climb a tree while I walked him on his leash. The vet went as far as to make us feel guilty for NOT euthanizing him, telling us it was their duty to advocate for the animal's interests. My mom opted to get him hydrated and stable and we brought him to our regular vet the following day. The vet acknowledged his health issues but suspected that his kidneys were at the root of everything. He flushed the cat's kidneys over several days and now he's back to his old self. Maybe a little thinner, but he's eating well, purring, seems to be very happy and comfortable. He does have to get subcutaneous fluids now, but many cats do and it doesn't affect his over all quality of life. In retrospect I don't think euthanasia was the right call on that day. If that is recommended to you by this vet, I would definitely get a second opinion. Unfortunately, people in an emergency situation will probably not have time to read this review. Sadly, our wonderful primary vet who got him stabilized has since passed away.

The Doctors gave our kitty 6 months to a year to live. Before they would treat her, we had to sign an agreement to spend 4000 to 6000 dollars. My daughter is there - we love our kitty -- what are you going to do? Ginger died the next day -- not 6 months to a year later. The Hospital Director said "sorry, no partial refunds -- it's company policy." So -- if you think this is a reasonable practice, okay -- but I don't. The workers there love animals, the corporate leadership stinks and is just another example of the scam economy we all live in now.
