Just back from here with Erica, I usually only get a very basic bikini wax, as I'm a total wuss but she was so friendly and professional I extended a bit more than usual into the embarrassing areas. The place is homey and clean and I don't think it's ghetto at all. Will definitely come back and hopefully with Erica, i think she is the only one to do a brazilian wax, so I guess if you request that you will get to wait til she is free. it was 15 dollars and I was so relieved I tipped her 20 which I still think is pretty good for the pleasant experience and great job she did! read more

The hot stones they use for the pedicures are nice, but it doesn't make up for the lack luster job they did on my nails. I left with nail polish on skin on both my finger nails and toes. My manicurist also rushed through my manicure. I Won't ever go back again. read more

My whole family goes to this shop and I was there from at least 610 and another lady walked in and was seen before me. The excuse they used was that one of the ladies did not do tips. Little do they know I've come in there before and that same lady has done my tips. They will no longer have my business. The customer they took before me was white and did not have an appointment. When I came and told them what I wanted there was as no immediate action and I waited longer and patiently. I don't know if it was a race thing or if the woman really did not know how to do tips. But there was also another lady doing nothing who could have polished this woman's feet. Even if I wasn't going to get seen I would have like to been respected enough for I have something communicated to me which it was not. Never again. Delfina gave me a WONDERFUL pedicure and gel manicure. She asked very specific questions about how I prefer my nail length, and was very gentle when trimming my hang nails. Based on reviews by other Yelpers I went to get waxed at this place and I can say that I will never be back again. The waxed used this weird roll on wax that can't be sanitary AND she performed the cardinal sin of double dipping when she did my armpits! I also got a half hearted chair massage. Definitely will not be going back here...super unsanitary....just hoping I don't break out! :( read more

I have lived here for two years now and been very scared to go inside because it looks like a nail salon you might see in the middle of a Caribbean island. It's very very old and dirty looking both outside and in. However today I went in and got a pedicure and gel manicure and it came out really good and was only $35. I am pleasantly surprised. Would I go back? Not sure because it's that dirty looking but I might be tempted. read more

this place is great! and right off the G train...so close to me for sure. Julia did my nails and they look great! mani and pedi for 20$ which is a good deal compared to the $22 pedi i got in manhattan (not so great). they massage your feet w/ a hot stone, then scrub, then massage w/ lotion! people are nice and price is awesome for what you get! read more

I went I charming because they were close by and I needed a fill in and would be able to make it to my normal spot. I went when they opened and they were nice but the quality work sucks. My fill-in is horrible and a day later all of the new fill in has come off. I will never go there again. read more

Bad customer service, after waiting for almost an hour and seeing different customers come in and so straight to there nail tech I ASKED how long. The short spanish worker replied it a long time I have another customer at 3pm. Ever since I refused to give her a 5 dollar tip that she asked me for she always seems to have a customer coming in. Do not go here!!!! I have a very bad infection on my foot because they do not clean their filthy sinks after a pedicure. I went on a Saturday around 6pm and the tub was gross, I asked them to bleach mine before I had a pedicure and they gawked at me. ONLY because I had to be some place did I take the risk and I wish I hadn't. DISGUSTING!!!! I WILL BE REPORTING THEM TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. read more

I had my eyebrows done by one of the workers. My regular person was not there. The individual who served me was polite--at first. I told her repeatedly to keep my brows thick and do not make them thin. I mentioned that my brows were not the same, one thicker than the other. She pointed to the top of the thinner brow and claimed that was part of the reason. I did not give her a tip, but thanked her courteously. Upon paying her, she had such an attitude and yelled out loudly something in her native tongue. The owner looked at me smiling. I could not believe that my brows did not look much better than when I arrived--$6.00 down the drain. I go to them for my nails as well when I can, and do not like having someone other than my regular to do my brows, but needed them to be done. I definitely did not like the manner in which this worker acted as I was leaving, and I never remember seeing her before. Charming Nails and Spa was not so charming and lost me as a customer. read more

this is the best nail salon i've been to in brooklyn. the hardwood floors and recess lighting give you a feel of high end nail spa salon. they use top of the line nail polish, essie and obi. the manicure pedicure $20 deal is the best . on top of that you get a stone foot massage for free. what more can you ask for. also all the nail technicians are liscense by new york state. overall this spot is clean and the best. read more

This is my neighborhood nail place. It's not the prettiest looking and the nail techs are pretty chatty, but for the most part you get a good mani, pedi, wax, and massage from these guys. A few of the girls are hit or miss, but overall it's a good deal for what you are paying. I have a place in the city near work which is my favorite place, but on the weekends or evenings, this is my go-to nail salon. read more

When I first walked in, I was a bit turned off by the atmosphere (too much clutter) but the longer I sat, the more I loved my experience. First of all, getting what I got done today for the price I payed is just delightful. A spa pedicure with a 10min foot massage, a gel manicure (I got my neck massaged as well) and a Brazilian wax for about $80. UNBEATABLE! And on top of it the women who took care of me did a great job and was very polite and respectful. Sonja, you are just lovely! This was recommended to me when I moved into the neighborhood by a friend who had been getting her nails done here for years. $20 manipedi, or 35 with gels/shellac, includes a great hot stone pedi and a neck and shoulder massage. Some of the reviews have used the term "ghetto" which, yeah, is a total code word. It's not fancy, but it's clean, friendly, and efficient without feeling rushed, and my nails always look great. Decided to try this place on a whim, because I wanted to try something new. It's about 2 blocks away from my place. So glad I did, instead of going to the ones closest to me (on my block). My wait time was maybe 5 minutes. I really enjoyed the spa pedicure so much that I texted my friends about it, before the technician polished my toe nails. I've been coming to this salon on and off for a few years, but i will no longer spend my hard earned money to be disrespected, treated less than, and still leave with mediocre work. The owner of this salon "James" is very rude and treats "Certain customers" with top priority and urgency. I recently went to the salon for a acrylic tip manicure done by "Kevin" they were uneven and different shapes when i specifically asked for a coffin shape. He was nice but i was still unhappy with the work. I spent $30+ and it wasn't worth it. Furthermore 3 hours after i left the salon two of my nails broke. I came back the next day,however Kevin wasn't there and the owner "James" had to fix the broken nails. He was rushing , and made me feel like a nuisance. When he finished he turned on a mini fan to dry my nails.10 minutes did not pass until he came back and turned the fan off and said i was done, and "need to go" In front of the whole salon. I was so embarrassed, i couldn't even speak. I will never return to this salon ever again, and would rather spend my money where I'm wanted. There are many black-owned salons in brooklyn(The Nail Boutique) who do amazing work and welcome ALL people. read more

I have been going here for the past year and a half since I moved to the neighborhood. It's no frills and not the cleanest, but I like one staff member, Sonia. She does a great job and is very friendly. Unfortunately, the owner of the place is shady. I try to be efficient with my time and plan carefully to avoid wasting time and waiting around. I always call to make an appointment and sometime go by in person to make sure we are all on the same page. Today, I walked into my 12pm appointment and saw that the place was busy, people were waiting and that Sonia had just started someone's manicure. I look at the owner who saw me walk in, but he does not look up me. We have had issues in the past where I come in for an appointment and he always makes me wait or tells me to come back. I live around the corner so it's not that big of a deal but today, I was fed up. It's my one day off from work and I planned my whole morning/afternoon around this. Finally he looks up and I ask what's the deal? He says, "we're very busy!" I get that but he was the one who told me to come at 12! So I ask when I should come back and he says 1pm. I look at him and say, "ok, I'll come back at 1pm but I am not waiting." To which he replied, "yes, 1 pm for sure." I walk in 1pm on the dot. Same scenario including the owner avoiding me. I finally speak up and he gives me the same response/attitude and started raising his voice at me saying how busy he is as if I am an annoying customer. I ask him to stop yelling and explain to him that if he had told me to come back at 5pm I would have been ok with that but telling me to come back in an hour (which gives me no time to do or go anything else) only to be met with the same situation is unprofessional and completely disrespectful of my time. I stayed true to my work and walked out and around the corner to a new place called Pure Nail Spa (43 Clifton Place on the corner of Grand Ave). They are nicer, clean and prices are comparable. Totally worth the few dollars more. After all, time is money and Charming Nails and Spa only care about their own time and money. read more

I never write reviews but this experience is totally worth mentioning. I went here four days ago and my experience was NOT anything i have ever expected. First of all the man told me there was a 15 minute wait and I waited about an hour. The only reason I stayed was because I had a wedding and people were dropping out like flies due to waiting too long. The pedicure/manicure package was supposed to be $20.00 and when I was asked what "kind" of pedicure I wanted, I had to select a spa pedicure in a dirty, uncleaned tub because I need a bit of callus removal. I am from Queens and a simple scrub on the bottom of my feet does not make my pedicure $40 dollars. They did unnecessary things to my legs that made them break out in hives and itch for days. My toe nail polish on both my big toes have peeled off like stickers. I don't know about you, but my pedicure polish could last months before removing at a normal salon. My nails are horrific! She did not cut my cuticles correctly and they are peeling and disgusting. I came here because they had the cheapest deal in the neighborhood for $20.00 and I spent $60.00. Totally NOT worth the service to have my manicure and pedicure polish chipping after 4 days and go to a different salon to clean up the mess that they have made. read more
