I finally googled a cake store nearby and found Cakes in Style in the Rockville, MD area, very convenient. I took my fiancé at the time to meet with the owner Robert. I made an appointment with Robert; we went in and were amazed. First off, we saw many samples on the counter as well as in his portfolio. Then we went over the logistics of the cake, he took down great notes, provided great suggestions, and was very enthusiastic about helping us. He was kind enough to provide us with an impromptu cake tasting. My fiancé had made up his mind by the end of the free consultation, he picked the design, and we were all set. Robert kept in touch with updates, provided easy and flexible methods of payment and he delivered the cake on time and in one piece. We have seen many cake fail videos but nothing be scared about with Cakes in Style. Our venue was familiar to the owner, so we felt comfortable working with him. We left the store happy and content. We had selected a Red Velvet Cake with a Cream filling, our guests mentioned that it was the best cake they have ever had. It tasted amazing as well as looked beautiful. The mix-ins and toppings needed to be incorporated more generously, and the bases themselves required stronger infusions to carry the advertised flavors.
