I didn't want to be bothered with hunting for a vendor, making multiple visits and who to trust. I finally googled a cake store nearby and found Cakes in Style in the Rockville, MD area, very convenient. I took my fiancé at the time to meet with the owner Robert. I made an appointment with Robert; we went in and were amazed. First off, we saw many samples on the counter as well as in his portfolio. Then we went over the logistics of the cake, he took down great notes, provided great suggestions, and was very enthusiastic about helping us. He was kind enough to provide us with an impromptu cake tasting. My fiancé had made up his mind by the end of the free consultation, he picked the design, and we were all set. Robert kept in touch with updates, provided easy and flexible methods of payment and he delivered the cake on time and in one piece. We have seen many cake fail videos but nothing be scared about with Cakes in Style. Our venue was familiar to the owner, so we felt comfortable working with him. We left the store happy and content. We had selected a Red Velvet Cake with a Cream filling, our guests mentioned that it was the best cake they have ever had. It tasted amazing as well as looked beautiful. Presentation and Detail were on spot. I highly recommend Cakes in Style to all and everyone looking for a cake for their special occasion. I will surely use their services again in the future. Also, this would be one of my first times visiting a Persian /Iranian based bakery. Upon entering the shop, you are met with a great aroma of all the baked goods they have. The customer service was very good: my mom was given a free tea for her visit, and so was I, but I respectfully declined (I don't drink tea often). Also, they give you free samples of 3 of their sweets: raisin cookie, 2oolbia, and "bummie" (fried dough balls). I got the Persian small ice cream $4 and a near pound of assorted pastries (fruit roulette, fruit cake, chocolate roulette, plain roulette, eclair, Napoleon, Turkish baklava, Greek baklava, and Persian baklava) for $19.19. - The Persian ice cream was a brand new experience for me and became the most memorable. I loved the cute candle decorations and crafting area in the back which seemed like a great activity for kids and adults. Service interaction is minimal since ordering is via kiosk but seemed overall friendly. Bathroom was clean. Ordered the matcha latte (with sugar modification but I would stick to the original since they make it not too sweet), americano, cake roll (tasted a bit too eggy for me but was nice and soft), and toast (loved that it was so crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside; was also told in advance that it would take longer vs the rest of the order which I appreciated and is worth the wait). The toast was my favorite! I miss the crunchy and pillowy softness already. Seems like a great place to stop by for a matcha and/or snack after yoga if you're in the area!
