I was hoping to enjoy more of this beautifully…read moregreen state and I was half satisfied and half disappointed with the trail in this location of I.C. King Park, which is why I gave this hiking venue a three star review. I took off two stars because the map of the hiking trail is so inaccurate (or, at least, unreadable). I took a picture of the map before starting my hike (I've uploaded it here) for reference as I hiked but it didn't help at all. At first I followed the rock covered road that heads up from the parking lot and veers off to the right. But soon I was disappointed by a dead end. So I headed back to the junction with the main rock covered road, which eventually runs parallel to the dog parks, and continued down the path to the next narrow, dirt trail and tree opening on the right that I thought was the trail as indicated on the map. This turned out to be a beautifully charming green and lush path, replete with enthralling cicada singing, delightful birdsong and gentle inclines and declines which made for an interesting hike. This continued for about a mile and a quarter until I came to an intersection. According to the map, I should have been at a T-intersection, but what I saw was a full on crossroads. I walked a ways down each path to see if any was a dead end but each seemed to be a legitimate trail. Since I wasn't sure which way to go, I headed back to my car. I was concerned my two mile (or so) hike may turn into a five mile (or so) hike and I wasn't prepared for that. I saw only one other party of two bikers heading up the path when I was heading back. This was both reassuring (that I saw other people) and concerning (that I saw only one other group in the hour I was on the trail). Anyway, if you have time to explore, the trail seemed to be well maintained so there is hardly any worry that you'll wander off it (except maybe a false start, like me). And it truly is a beautiful walk in the forest. But the trails seriously lack any kind of markings or signage whatsoever, so be prepared with alternative trails maps or time to wander and explore.

They all seem to be the same with a awesome concrete double gated entry that leads out to a nice bench on a concrete pad. This one actually has water and it has a poop bag dispenser and a trash can and a tree in each dog park and a couple agility items just in case. You park in a gravel field right next to the dog park unless you're against like me and then they have a nice concreted spot for you to pull up on. Dirt roads. Some way off the beaten path, for those who wanna make it a little hard, climb up some rock stairs. It was really fun. It was quite an adventure. More than I have had in a nature center in a while. I stopped at the gift center, which was very quaint. I love the little stones they had. It was a bag of them for six dollars I believe. The quality of the tumbled stones seemed very nice as well for such a price. I would definitely go back to this area and visit once more if I happen to be here on vacation!

It is home to iconic landmarks like the Sunsphere, a 266-foot gold-domed observation tower, and the Tennessee Amphitheater. Today, the park serves as a hub for major festivals, community gatherings, and recreation. Very welcoming space, lots to enjoy, always busy! The sphere is a focal point, when you go through Knoxville on I-40.

Today, the park is a beautiful green space for residents and visitors. The Sunsphere and the Amphitheater are the only remaining structures from the World's Fair in the park. The Sunsphere is opened to visitors. The Amphitheater was shuttered for the winter and in need of a facelift. Several interesting architectural features (posts and statue) are located throughout the park. A colorful bridge passes over the park and waterway. The Park is filled with accessible walkways, a water feature/fountain. A rail trail passes through the park for walkers and runners. We found free parking at the south side of the park. I did not see restroom facilities. Dogs on leases are allowed everywhere except in the fountain area.

This is one of my favorite parks in all of Knoxville. First it's so big. The park has an amazing…read moreloop that's perfect if you're trying to do a few laps to get some miles in. It also has a trail that goes beside a pond and goes into a wooded area that's great if you're looking for a more serene experience. In addition there is a dog park and typically when I've been there the people are very chill which is not the same at other dog parks I've been to where some folks can be a little uptight. There's a large shelter - perfect for picnics - and large green fields which often hosts soccer games among other sports. Finally I don't have children but from what I can tell the playground looks fantastic - pretty new and updated very big and there's always a lot of kids playing at it. There's also a pretty large frisbee golf course. Victor Ashe has a little bit of everything for the whole family which is why I love it so much!

Although there is no signage it is laid out exactly the same with a nice concrete double-gated entry as well as a concrete pad with benches in both the big and small dog park. This one does have a water fountain in both dog parks as well as a poop bag dispenser in both and a trash can right out side the double gated entry. Not much in the way of shade but there is plenty of room for your dog to run and it does look like they planted a few trees so in a couple years it will be very very nice. You park decently close and you can easily walk around the interior of the fence line
