You park in a gravel field right next to the dog park unless you're against like me and then they have a nice concreted spot for you to pull up on. I would say the only bummer to here is there will be very limited street parking usually about four spaces and one more for handicap and the rest are usually filled on the right side of the street do to the residents that live in the condo's across the street. It also has a trail that goes beside a pond and goes into a wooded area that's great if you're looking for a more serene experience. In addition there is a dog park and typically when I've been there the people are very chill which is not the same at other dog parks I've been to where some folks can be a little uptight. There's a large shelter - perfect for picnics - and large green fields which often hosts soccer games among other sports. Finally I don't have children but from what I can tell the playground looks fantastic - pretty new and updated very big and there's always a lot of kids playing at it. There's also a pretty large frisbee golf course. Victor Ashe has a little bit of everything for the whole family which is why I love it so much!

I finally got a chance to come here with my neighbor and her toddler on a weekday and I was surprised how many kids were at the playground. However, we never felt crowded here and there are several playgrounds in the park, with one being in a slightly wooded section. Besides children's playgrounds, the park offers extensive greenways, sports facilities, and even, event spaces. Sports facilities include: baseball/softball fields, soccer field and an outdoor fitness center. On my next visit, I'm going to explore even more of the greenways and try to find the steel sculpture in the park called the "Quantum Embrace." Know before you go: 1) Lakeshore is open daily: 6 am - 10 pm 2) Plenty of parking spaces 3) There are public restrooms onsite 4) Events at the park hosted by the Roots & Revelry Group. This dog park is fairly new, and has some young trees. Most of the trees are too young to provide shade, but should be great in the future. The grassy area is located on a hillside, which makes chasing a ball a little strange. It could be good if your pooch is a diehard ball chaser; just tossing a ball down the hill would be great exercise. Mine golden retriever retrieves about 40% to 50% of the time, lol. You get the idea. It could be great excercise for ME! There is only one sitting area for owners (pet parents), but maybe they will install more in the future. During this summer heat, we spent most of our time in the wooded area, but there's no seating there. Overall, a great dog park! I hope it continues to be well maintained & developed.

Excellent newer dog park. Located on the Maryville Pike side of IC King. Plenty of parking…read more There is a small dog and large dog side of the park. Both fences well kept. Strong secure entry gates. There are great water stations on both sides of the park for dogs and humans as well and water bowls scattered around. We'll supplied dog poop bags, and there's even a wash station. There's only one small area under shade and cover with two benches on each side, so be aware if it's sunny that there's no other coverage for dogs or humans. There are bathrooms and a small children's park located near by as well. The highlights of this park are the multiple walking trails. They start on either side of the dog park with trails around the park that go all the way to the old entrance off of Alcoa Highway. These are well kept, cleared regularly after bad weather, and are slightly hilly but easy to walk and the dogs love it.

All the parks seem to have a poop bag dispenser and trash can close enough to be used but I have not found one that has water yet. Parking is close and there is ample area for your dog to run, dog parks in New housing projects are becoming All the Rage across the country, it is good when people get to know each other in the individual neighborhoods. So although there is no tree nor shade in the big dog park there is a tree in the small dog park, and at least they have one hahaha

I'm writing this review as an outsider, not from TN. I was hoping to enjoy more of this beautifully…read moregreen state and I was half satisfied and half disappointed with the trail in this location of I.C. King Park, which is why I gave this hiking venue a three star review. I took off two stars because the map of the hiking trail is so inaccurate (or, at least, unreadable). I took a picture of the map before starting my hike (I've uploaded it here) for reference as I hiked but it didn't help at all. At first I followed the rock covered road that heads up from the parking lot and veers off to the right. But soon I was disappointed by a dead end. So I headed back to the junction with the main rock covered road, which eventually runs parallel to the dog parks, and continued down the path to the next narrow, dirt trail and tree opening on the right that I thought was the trail as indicated on the map. This turned out to be a beautifully charming green and lush path, replete with enthralling cicada singing, delightful birdsong and gentle inclines and declines which made for an interesting hike. This continued for about a mile and a quarter until I came to an intersection. According to the map, I should have been at a T-intersection, but what I saw was a full on crossroads. I walked a ways down each path to see if any was a dead end but each seemed to be a legitimate trail. Since I wasn't sure which way to go, I headed back to my car. I was concerned my two mile (or so) hike may turn into a five mile (or so) hike and I wasn't prepared for that. I saw only one other party of two bikers heading up the path when I was heading back. This was both reassuring (that I saw other people) and concerning (that I saw only one other group in the hour I was on the trail). Anyway, if you have time to explore, the trail seemed to be well maintained so there is hardly any worry that you'll wander off it (except maybe a false start, like me). And it truly is a beautiful walk in the forest. But the trails seriously lack any kind of markings or signage whatsoever, so be prepared with alternative trails maps or time to wander and explore.
