They also will not allow me to make a payment over the phone--after calling 25 times with a 2 hour++ hold time after sorting through 'ai' menu slop. They claim I set a secret password that I never did and will not allow me to make my payment--despite having every relevant piece of information under the sun to verify my identity. They demanded that I visit a physical branch, quite some distance away, if I want to avoid having a late payment. This is not my first and will not be my last issue with this company. They are the absolute worst I have ever dealt with.

I've had a terrible experience with Desert Financial Credit Union credit card issued by Elan. I…read moredidn't use the credit card much because I had other credit cards with better rewards so historically they would let me know that if I didn't use the card they would close it. Since I'd had the card for over 20 years I didn't want to give it up and once or twice a year I'd make a purchase to keep it active which is what they told me to do. I received an email on July 1st at about 8pm that said "You have a new notice for your card ending in xxxx. Account Closure Notice is now available. To view your notice, log in to your account." This is what I'd historically get notifying me to use the card, however, this time when I tried to log in it wouldn't let me. Instead it said "It looks like your account requires some extra attention. Give us a call at the number on the back of your card, and one of our customer service representatives will be happy to help." So I called them and they told my account was closed July 2nd, and a letter was send on June 30th saying my account was closed due to inactivity. So no notice or opportunity to use the card before they closed it, all timed perfectly so that I didn't get the opportunity to do something about it. Interestingly, the supervisor I spoke to on the phone said they'd be happy to take a new application to open a new account. I told them that if that's how they treat someone that had their card for over 20 years, I wanted nothing to do with them. I have a near perfect credit rating and work hard to maintain that, quite upset that they care so little for someone who had been a client for over 20 years that they do this, and do it this way. Finally, I was told that there was a fraud on one of my accounts. I asked to talk to a fraud specialist no avail. I called and called asking for an explanation and was told the fraud occurred in Texas and call back NBAZ and ask for the fraud department. I still could not log into my mobile bank account again at 3:00 PM Friday I called again Told them I could not login still asked again to be connected to fraud department. Finally, I got someone and was literally crying to be connected. She said they just left for the day and will be back Monday. I am so physically and emotionally frustrated I will be switching banks ASAP. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired, putting at nicely.

They know their customers by name as soon as they walk in and genuinely all about your day and remember random things in your life you've mentioned. They always offer snacks and water/coffee and I know that doesn't seem like it's related to banking but if you've ever sat in a bank line you'd know how boring and frustrating it can be.
