I had to stop in yesterday to make a deposit. Jennifer promptly greeted me and understood my needs. I must add that I have dealt with several other banking clerks within this organization. Today, April 10, 2025. I go up to the walk-up ATM to make a deposit. Of course, it doesn't work. I go into the credit union to wait in line to make my deposit. I finally get up to the teller to make a deposit into my account. The teller says their system are running slow. I inform the teller that your ATM is not working. She asked me for my ID, which I only had my bank card. I said after parking, getting my cane out and getting out of my van to make my deposit, which you know a driver license or ID is not required? I came straight into your credit union to wait in line to make my deposit. For you to tell me, you need your ID to make a deposit. Seriously! I'll just go all the way to Dysart where they have a drive up teller and drive up ATM! This branch is 3 miles from my home, I haven't gone here in years! Now I remember why! read more

Copper State Credit Union is one of 2 credit unions that participates in shared branching with our CA credit union. We recently visited the Anthem location to get a cashier's check to purchase a new home. Our CA credit union made clearing the amount for the check very difficult and we spent over an hour on the phone with them. During that time, Debbie Baker and her coworkers were extremely understanding, professional, fun to converse with, and so much more. They made the whole situation less stressful and rejoiced with us when we finally got clearance! If we lived closer, we would not hesitate to open accounts at Copper State Credit Union. read more

Where do I start, if I could give this bank 0 stars I would! I have been banking with them for over 7 years and they treated me horrible for the last time. From the Extremely rude managers, extended hold time of my funds to basic banking needs. Copper state CU have been no help! They only follow protocol that benefits them when it come to withdrawing YOUR funds and when you ask to speak with a manager they keep you waiting for extended periods of times hoping you will leave. I actually never was privileged of speaking with a Manager about my issue after a 1 hr wait. Today, I'm closing all of my accounts because they have cost me over $1200 in penalty's by withholding my funds. I highly suggest if you don't want a bank that treats humane, please take your business somewhere else! Good Service I've been a member of the Credit Union for nearly a year now. I So far, it's been going very well. I have a checking, savings, and IRA account so I go to the credit union fairly often. The staff are always helpful and friendly. It took a short time to set up my account. The facilities are quite nice. Overall, I would recommend this credit union, over big banks. I am so disappointed with this credit union. Want to change as soon as possible. I have received text msgs saying it's my bank letting me know I have been charged $1,200.00 for something, I knew it was a scam (so I don't blame the bank) however, I went in to the bank to make sure I was good and was told that many people received this same msg due to the new debit card we should be getting in a few days (this was almost two months ago)! Still waiting for the "new card." Then I tried to add my account to Apple Pay but it wasn't working, went in to the branch and again, I was told not to worry, the new card would fix that! i have been banking with cscu when i moved here from california almost 11 years now. i still bank in ca. and with cscu i can easily withdraw and deposit cash with very little effort, one of the absolute pleasures of banking. cscu tellers know who i am and help is always an effortless task. if you're standing in line waiting, someone from the desks will pull you out of line and help you. an awesome task. cscu has services that are free, like free notary help, trust and will signing. always a plus. there are many locations around phoenix, with ample and easy parking. if you have cash you want to invest, cscu will help you for the best interest rates. i bank at the anthem location, its absolute pleasure. what can i say more, for your personal or business accounts, cscu will put a smile on your face. read more

This bank is trying to get out of the red by taking from its customers. They will place an extended hold on checks in hopes that the customer will incur insufficient funds fees. They also make it hard for you to close out an account. They also have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They give you the run around when you call to inquire and need to be retrained on how to treat customers. I would give them a zero if it was an option. They do not deserve one star. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Since this credit union changed from Canyon state everything has turned to sh!t. Horrible customer service! I applied and was approved for an auto loan and a personal loan through Canyon state and successfully paid both loans off never being late. My credit was decent. Then COVID hit and you guessed it I got it. I was late with some credit card payments but caught up and back in good standing. I decided to attempt to consolidate my credit cards after paying half of the balance off. My FICO score qualified me for a loan. They denied the small personal loan. read more

In line with other reviews, Brother, how things have changed. I have been a member of this Credit Union and successors for 40+ years!! (Was Deer Valley Credit Union and before that Honeywell Credit Union) So you can imagine that over this time, have bought cars, had IRA, did mortgages, etc. etc. But recently, now under CopperState banner, customer contact, and communications have gone to shit. They started to send me letters stating that my home in Tucson did not have Homeowners Insurance?? On the contrary, I have coverage and have never had a lapse in coverage. I tried to call the Phoenix Branch, but got stuck in their endless Automated Response Unit.... No one ever picked up and they finally hung up on me. So, I sent a copy of my policy and coverage to the address on the multiple letters to and address in Fort Worth Texas. Despite my best efforts, they recently sent me a letter that they spent +$2200 dollars on a "Forced Homeowners Insurance Policy" that I was responsible for paying!! Not joking....... they now seem more like Chase Bank or the IRS than your local friendly Credit Union. So my suggestions? 1) They should fire their Executive Staff for utter incompetence 2) Someone should put on a customer hat and try to use their ARU for Customer Service contact (horrible) and fix it or get rid of it 3) or They should just shut the place down. I intend to pay off my mortgage in the coming months, close my accounts, and find another back that actually has something that looks like Customer Service and is approachable. The leadership at CopperState just does not get it. Close you account, run, and don't look back. When someone has been with you for 40+ years, you might think someone would care?? So I got my vehicle refinanced through these guys. At the time of loan qualification I was told my payment was going to be 330.81. But now my payment jump to $547.21. There are saying I do not have a proof of insurance on my vehicle which I do and I had Insurance company send them all paperwork but yet they will not lower my monthly payment back to the original amount and will not refund all the money they have taken out of my account without my permission. If I could give it time zero stars I would but unfortunately there is no option for zero stars this company is the worst I have ever had to deal with. There are liars and cheats.
