There is a $100 sign on bonus we found out about 1 week after opening the account. they said they would not honor it because the account was already set up. I'm very upset that they didn't bring it up to us when we were there, in person, to set up the account. I am very concerned how they will handle other issues. Not customer friendly. We arrive at the bank on 8/25/2023 at about 12:15 noontime. It was rather slow and there was no wait but the one teller was already assisting a customer. Unfortunately to my dismay customer service doesn't exist at this bank. Leo Castro who stated he is the branch manager assisted us today. He looked at us and stated that he will make sure to do his due diligence and check company policy and procedures before he tells us no. That's the customer service I received off the bat. I brought in a third party check with both payees ready with IDs to sign off on the check and cash it out being that the Payer was Nationwide Insurance, a Chase Bank account holder. Leo refused to offer logical explanations and reasons for denying to cash Nationwide's Insurance Check paid to us. It is beyond belief that a national major banking institution can refuse to negotiate a check drawn on one of its own accounts. Leo was condescending and unwilling to engage in adult conversation when we asked reasonable questions to better understand his denial to cash a check drawn from their own account. And mind you this check was from Nationwide Insurance Company. Please tell me Nationwide Insurance Company has enough money to cover their own checks from their bank? Leo your demeanor and service toward us today was deplorable. Shame on you for putting judgement on us and making a call on the service you provided us from your own personal preference and assumptions and not by company policy and procedures. Which I asked for and you refused stating that it was privilege information. You also mocked us when we asked question's regarding banking stating, "How would you know, are you in the banking profession?!" How does a manager have the audacity to make prejudicial decisions in providing reasonable requested service? I feel sorry for the staff who has to work with you on a daily basis. I wanted to open an Estate account for my deceased father, only to be to completely blindsided by Johnny Nguyen who was very unprofessional. I arrived early to our scheduled time only for him to not be at his desk and then once he showed up, proceed to tell me I'm 30 minutes late. This was not a true statement. Honestly I did not expect this great of a service. Johnny went beyond what I asked for. Not only did he opened the account for me. He helped me set up online banking, credit journey, all the quick pays, and the extra bells and whistles from the Chase app that I did not know about. Highly recommend this branch to anyone who's thinking about banking at Chase. The staff here is incredibly friendly and nice. Most recently John helped me resolve some issues with my business account. He went way above and beyond the call of duty by calling different Chase branches to figure out the problem with my account and giving me multiple update calls. Honestly I was surprised he followed up and actually got everything resolved for me! To have John put in this much effort to help me (someone who never visits branches in person and exclusively does mobile banking) speaks volumes about his customer service. Rep didn't even know that chase was having Apple Pay issues , wasted clients time having them sit on the phone

I was very frustrated that I got my wallet stolen. I came into Chase for help. It was busy and I was anxiously waiting in the lobby. Then Johnny approached me and offer assistant. I told him what happened. He took urgency in closing out all my cards and helped reset my online banking. He got his manager involved and they called in to submit the fraud claim for me. I have tried calling Chase all weekend and spent over 2.5 hours and could not get anywhere. Johnny took care of everything in 15 minutes. He even followed up with me a few days after to make sure that all my money is safe. Truly appreciate the help. read more

I love coming to this branch. Never once I was turned away due to not having an appointment. This branch is very walk-in welcome. You can get everything you needed done here even if it's beyond banking. They have all the answers. This is because they have very talented individuals who work here. My encounter was with Private Client Banker Johnny. This guy really knows his stuff. He was very informative with all my questions. I had some questions regarding my 401k and some other minor investment inquiries. Johnny quickly got his financial advisor partner Chris involved. They helped ran a financial time line for me. Nobody stays in leadership positions you always have new managers most inexperienced and just a Revolving door. This is a review of the bank, and is not necessarily about the quality of this branch where I have my account. My wife's credit card was recently lost, and a fraudulent charge appeared, which was promptly reported. It takes Chase a full week to deliver the replacement card, but they said they would take care of the fraudulent charge. Two weeks later, and the charge is still there, so I call again, and again, and again... a total of 4 times! I get the runaround between 2 departments, and they can't get their story straight. So they finally sent me to a third department, who quickly admitted it was a bank error and reversed the charge. This would never, ever happen with my American Express card. Previously, I tried to get a car loan from Chase. I figured that with my Private Banking status, and a FICO score in the 800s, they would at least have some competitive rates. Nope. A full point higher than another local lender, and they seemed so disinterested. So they lost my business to a competitor. Perhaps that should not have come as a surprise, because they had previously struck out trying to refinance my existing mortgage with them. With my perfect payment record and FICO score, I expected a competitive offer. Instead, they quote me a very average rate, but after they tacked on all of the exorbitant bank fees, I stood to save very little over the remaining life of the loan! So now I'm tripling my monthly loan payment amount to deprive them of the interest they would otherwise earn, and hasten an early end to my lending relationship with Chase. It's too bad that Washington Mutual was acquired by Chase, as I was perfectly happy with that relationship. Would anyone care to refer me to a bank that is competent, hungry for business, and understands customer service? read more

Clean and safe location. The bank has tons of workers but one teller working! Line gets backed up fast! They need to have a procedure if three or more people are waiting, open another teller booth. I have been through all of Chase Bank's predecessors from Home Savings to Washington Mutual and now Chase. When I have had to use Chase at other branches, I have felt the service to be below average. Recently I was trying to edit my bank info on treasury direct to include Chase so I could purchase I Bonds. The treasury required a Medallion signature, so I went to my favorite Chase branch in Seacliff and talked with Joel. He told me that the bank manager was not in that day and that the person was the only one who could help. Joel then checked other branches and found that Lauren Hebert at the Brookhurst/Adams branch could help. It was about a 15 minute drive, so I scheduled an appointment and met her. I have never encountered a colder person. She took my documents, drivers license, made copies and gave them back. She then informed me that they would call next week, but that 90% plus are turned down. I left her with a feeling like I was a nuisance for taking up her time. On my way home I considered what it would take for me to close my Chase accounts and transfer my funds to one of our other banks. Since I have always been treated well at the Seacliff, I returned and talked to Joel. After several phone calls, he sadly informed me that Chase stopped providing Medallion signatures for Treasury Direct. I expected him to just say sorry and that would be it. But Joel asked if I had other bank accounts. I mentioned a couple, but they were internet banks. Then I remembered that my wife had a business account at Union Bank and I was a co-signature. I expected Joel to just say go there and good luck. But instead, Joel called Union Bank and confirmed that they could provide the Medallion signature service. I then went to Union Bank and they took care of Medallion signature and I was able to add both Union Bank and Chase to my Treasury Direct account. Thanks to Joel, I did not close my Chase accounts. It's rare to find this kind of service. read more

This place is a joke. I decided to transfer my accounts closer to home so I went to chase on main. Upon opening the account I was told $ 0 banking fee. Good deal. But now I see fees, so I called them to ask what is going on? Answer was: it was converted from Washington mutual not true I just sign up 3 months ago. They lie to get you in, then start adding fees. I am going back to my old bank (all 4 accounts). I hope there is more people like me. Is not the fee just do not lie to me to get me in. read more

I agree with all the other reviews saying the wait time is ridiculous for the amount of employees just standing around. I went in today to get a few documents notarized and even though there was essentially no one in the bank, I was told the wait would be an hour. When I came back and hour later, they were packed and I sat there ignored for 10 minutes until I just left. I will spend a few dollars and get my documents notarized at a UPS store but for the amount of money that I have with Chase, I'm a little disappointed. Scratch that-HAD at Chase. all chase banks are super annoying. the way they train their rep's inside to hijack you at the door and then sit you down at a desk and go over every possible way they can add or subtract things to your accounts everytime you go in is one of the dumbest business strategies ever. its so annoying that now I just have to be ready to tell them to step off the second i enter the door of the bank, there is alwasy somebody there trying to get your attention to hijack you to sit at the banker desk so they can be all "oh i see you are taking advantage of our online bill pay, have you considered linking that with your home mortgage?" I dont have a mortgage, "oh have you ever considered buying a home?" no, i have not, "oh have you considered transfering all your cc debt to one of our low interest credit cards" I dont have cc debt, this conversation goes on and on for much longer, thus now I just have to b-line it for the customer service counter and hope they dont try to pull the same shennanigans. I know the reps are only doing their jobs but whomever is implimenting these programs for the chase employees needs to suck it. chase is annoying and now they are trying to charge me a fee for an account I signed up for, with chase bank mind you, that chase is saying "oh well sir we changed from another company and now things are just different and well because of a, b & c situations we have to charge you$8.00 per month unless you use your debit card 5 times per month. I personally do not like being told that I have to spend my own money. Chase is just another bank, good for them they are making billions but I hate them. read more
