Not the worst, not the best. I love the building which is huge and and the location on Victoria Avenue...just not the bank itself. If this was still a WaMu I might feel differently but I just have a dislike for all things Chase. I have had many a bad experiences as a Chase customer. Last time I was here to close my account there ended up being issues with the closure and it took me a couple return visits...just to close my account. I miss WaMu. :0) read more

I banked at Chase when I lived in New York and they were mean there, but that's expected at the Times Square Branch. I thought Ventura would be different. No, same Yankee manners here, right here in sunny California. I was greeted at the door and I explained I was here to make a cash deposit into someone else's account. I was told They don't take cash "because of regulations." (I guess Wells Fargo and Bank of America across the street are in a different State because they had no problem with it.) She said we could do it on line, I said great. The first step.... is to load an App onto my phone! And I am still trying to figure out how a bank can't take cash. Isn't that the point? Don't keep it in your mattress? No, the first step was out of there to B of A where they said thank you and sorry for the wait. As always, my experience with Chase is that they just want you to leave with out doing anything for you. They are there for business accounts, not people. read more

Sometimes I read reviews on yelp and I just have to laugh. What a spoiled and demanding bunch of ungrateful buggers. I happen to like the greeting I get when I walk in the door... It doesn't come off as "forced" to me... it's not like they approach and start asking anything of you. They're just saying hello and acknowledging you when you walk in the door... which is polite. What's so offensive about that?! Anyway... my husband and I went in there to add him to my account. Rudy helped us and was awesome. He was helpful, insightful, and patient. It didn't take an hour like someone below was complaining about... but it wasn't 5 minutes either. We're at the bank handling a transaction. All kinds of stuff is bound to come up. Relax, people. We ended up needing to come back the next day with some other stuff and we got Rudy again. It was right before they were closing and he was happy to see us and help us out. I guess this is what they mean when they say they're a "relationship" bank. And I for one am all for it. read more

This location seriously needs more tellers! At least three should be working at all times during business hours. Seriously, why is the bank paying someone to just stand in the lobby acting as a greeter/traffic director/supervisor when that one extra human being really could be better utilized behind the counter as a teller and working harder to move the line of customers along faster? Nobody wants to get stuck in line at your bank for a half-hour every visit. You're robbing each of your customers of about 6 to 12 hours of their lives every year. Also, the very cheap-looking, tacky makeshift mural in your building is an eyesore. It looks like it's hiding a construction zone where the tellers once stood to help customers complete their transactions. read more

Every time I come to this specific location there is literally 1 teller. In a busy st at a generally busy time you should provide your branch with more than just ONE teller. Doesn't make sense to me, or the other chase bankers storming out. Get more employees. read more

We have 4 commercial accounts at this location. Staff is sooo friendly. Always smiling and is consistently aware of your wait time so they try to help you quickly. The machine "Teller" dispenses all kinds of change denominations so you really do not have to wait for a live teller, however, the staff is always worth the wait. :) read more

I am really liking this new branch - 1) because it is close and 2) because the people there seem really honestly happy to see you and to be helpful. I was a Great Western customer and then they were bought out by WAMU and then they were bought by Chase. I have banked in the valley and in Santa Monica and then on channel Islands blvd and now on Victoria. Parking here is the best - in Santa Monica on 5th the parking lot is the size of a postage stamp... The service at this bank is great! I convinced my business partner to move his account from Union Bank in Santa Monica to this Chase and he is very pleased! read more

This is a Chase now. I am very impressed with them. I went in to create a savings account a few weeks ago. The man who helped me was very helpful and friendly and not pushy. Today I received a follow-up phone call from Deb. She wanted to know if everything went okay with my transaction and what not. I was so pleased. Horrible costumer service. I needed to make a change to my business account and I waited standing at the costumer service desk for about 20 minutes and no one even asked if I needed help. When I went up to one of the tellers he told me to keep waiting at the costumer service desk. Waited another 20 mins without even being noticed so I walked out... What a waste of time.!!! read more

Let's start by saying I love Chase bank. I do not like this branch. I opened my account at the Oxnard Branch on Rose Avenue with Marlet. I came to this branch because I live fairly close to it. I wanted to add someone to my account which I was told is a very quick process and does require a lot of time. I later learned that 1. The woman helping me did not quite know what she was doing and 2. It took 1 hour for her to figure it out. I will continue to drive out to Oxnard to handle my banking needs even though it is completely out of my way. read more

I despise this bank. Forced greeting of "Hello" as you walk through the door. But don't dare ask for a print out or a bank check because they charge you extra for it even though I have my mortgage with them. One employee had the nerve to tell me that they are a "relationship"bank. What the hell does that mean? And then tried to convince me to open a business account with them. I have been a chase customer for several years; I opened my chase account after the switch from WaMu. Everyone was very delightful and very helpful. However, ever since the new upgraded "look" along with bank tellers this past year the SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! I called chase and asked about opening up another checking account. I spoke with the manager, whom I didn't know I was talking to until I later arrived at Victoria branch. It was a Friday afternoon (2ish) when we spoke. I explained that I wanted to open another account and that I would be driving from work in Santa Barbara to Ventura (because I live in Ventura). I know I could have opened the account in SB, but because I live in Ventura I figured I would handle things locally. Whelp, the phone call seemed to go well and the manager said it shouldn't take long (since I am an existing customer), but he did say opening a new account can take up to 45 minutes. I thought that was a long time to open up a checking account considering I was already a customer. I said okay and made my way to the Victoria branch after work, 4:30p on a Friday. When I finally arrive at 5:30p, I was not greeted, but stared at as if I was an inconvenience (that look of oh gawd another person to help). I sat down in the waiting area and noticed that there was only 1 teller, 1 manager (acting as a teller) 1 mortgage banker (not busy), and 1 new accounts person - who WAS/IS NOT FRIENDLY. The nice woman who was working in the mortgage department actually came up to greet me after she noticed that nobody was assisting me. It was now 5:50p. I explained why I was there and told her that I had been driving for over an hour and asked if I could use the restroom since I was waiting to be helped. She wasn't sure, but said let me check with someone. She walked over to the new accounts person, Hyacinth who was on the phone (but on hold/you could tell). Hyacinth said no, we can't and that they do not have a public restroom, but that if I wanted to go over to jack in the box I could do that. So I asked the mortgage banker, "if I go to jack in the box and since it was almost 6pm (closing) would I be let back in?" Hyacinth replied - NO, but she can take her chance it's not that far. The nice mortgage banker, stepped up and called over the bank manager, which then tells me he is the one who spoke to me over the phone. Who also gives me the "news", and says that they can't open the (additional) checking account because it takes 45min to an hour and that I would need to make an appointment. Also, that Hyacinth, the new accounts person is the only person that opens "new" accounts, can't because needs to leave and she is the only one that can assist me. Then he goes on to explain that I should have told him it wasn't a brand new account (a banker term I don't recall he used), but basically meant not a "new" account, but "open an additional account". HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT! If I knew their lingo, I would be working there. I was livid, not only did I sit for 30 minutes and waste my time, there was no consideration and the manager could have either opened the account or should have suggested making an appointment from the START. BTW....I did open up my additional checking account with a helpful banker, it literally took 10 mins. In addition to that fiasco of a headache, anytime I call Victoria branch, Hyacinth is the first person of contact. It's like pulling teeth trying to get a simple answer from her!! I called to find out if I could assign one of my three accounts to be the primary account and have cash transfer deposited to one of the other accounts - it's a free service that chase sets up. She went into some long winded explanation and said that I need to contact my employer about direct deposits - WRONG. It' a check box one and done click that she could have done from her computer - CHASE OFFERS THAT TO ALL CUSTOMERS. CHASE NEEDS more HELP, especially on a FRIDAY! GET WITH IT CHASE BRANCH VICTORIA! Thankfully a banker that I originally opened my account with is still there. I know now to ONLY DEAL WITH HER for my banking needs. If she quits Chase - so will I! read more

I went into Chase today to open personal and business accounts and could not believe how fantastic the customer service was. I was greeted and then directed to Jennifer Speakman (a personal banker). She was welcoming, informative and thorough. I also met Aron who will be in charge of my business accounts - also friendly and thorough. The is the first time in nearly 8 years that I have been treated like a client at a bank. Goodbye BOA for good! read more
