Parking at this Chase is always busy during their business hours... Monday through Friday from 9 AM til 5 PM or Saturdays until 2 PM Security is very serious. Multiple ATMs typically account member, including Chase Prime members access after hours. And access to ATM, even after hours typically stops by 10PM and is not 24 hours as listed. I'm not sure when that changes for them. I typically don't need to do much in-person banking - just access to the ATM so haven't had much contact with tellers in present day. The environment inside the bank is outright hostile and repulsive, sorry to say. The bank employees love to stream their music loudly, so it feels like it's a low-class bar (not a bank!) I popped into this Chase bank on a Saturday midday and it was a rough one! The parking lot was packed so my friend ended up having to drop me off and circle around until I came out, lol. Thankfully for me, most of the occupants of all those cars filling the spaces were inside talking to bank tellers. They had a couple of ATMs in the vestibule though and both were open, woohoo. It was a bit slow functioning, but it got the job done with my cash moneys. I'm not usually with friends when running errands and would normally need parking, so this Chase bank is going to be a no go for me in the future because of its lack of parking and no drive thru ATMs. read more

I visited this branch 7073 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90038 on October 22, 2024 at 3.25pm to deposit a check into my friend's Chase account. The employee at the second window from the left (unathletic lil guy) told me it was "impossible" to do so without my friend being present. I asked him to confirm with a supervisor, and after leaving for a moment, he came back saying the supervisor agreed and that nothing could be done. Throughout the conversation, he kept interrupting me, not letting me explain the situation, and overall came across as uninterested and unprofessional. It didn't feel right to me, so the next day, after confirming with my friend that this type of deposit is normal Chase policy, I went to another branch. There, the teller simply asked for my friend's account number, accepted the check, and completed the deposit with no issues. This means the employee at the West Hollywood branch gave me false and misleading information, wasted my time, and represented Chase very poorly. His supervisor also failed to handle the situation properly. I'm requesting a formal review and investigation of this incident because customers rely on accurate information, not personal assumptions or laziness. Chase is a great bank, but this branch needs to do a much better job training its staff to follow policy and treat customers respectfully. Time is the most valuable resource, and it shouldn't be wasted because of incompetence. read more

Worst banking experience of my life. I would give them negative stars if I could! I opened an account and deposited money in it. While I waited for my atm card to arrive, I setup bill pays using my account number and added a virtual card to my phone for tap purchases. I received a fraud alert when trying to make a purchase at Costco and after verifying it was me both by email and text they still wouldn't approve my purchase. I called the fraud alert number and they refused to give me any information. I then went into this branch in the morning and they informed me that my account has been closed and they will not give me my money. They told me I have to wait for a check in the mail?!? I asked to speak with the branch manager and she's too busy to even talk to me. This bank is a joke. This kind of behavior should be illegal when dealing with someone's money. Stay away from Chase! If I could, I'd rate them -10. Actually, NOT this location, the INSTITUTION itself! Luis Mariano at this location deserves +10. He's super helpful, polite, goes out of his way to help you! Not to mention, that he's a beautiful man! So, the location itself is 5. I interacted with him twice already and both times, he was a joy to work with. However, I need to rate CHASE as a banking institution, and they suck! It would be too long to write down my frustration with them, but even Luis was shocked how ridiculously flawed and incompetent their system is. I was ready to slaughter everyone at Chase when I went in. I still do, except Luis. If he can fix it by tomorrow morning, he will be the only reason I might keep my account with Chase. So I've recently switched to Chase Bank as my primary financial institution... and I have to say thus far, I am super impressed. The main reason for switching was the availability of local branches vs. my previous bank (Bank of the West). I simply LOVE that there is a Chase on practically every corner. This location, right across from the Target shopping center in WeHo, has parking and is large and efficient. Don't try to get in from Santa Monica if you're heading North - that's an impossible turn... enter from La Brea... much easier! I know this has nothing to do with the branch, but I could choose a Darth Vader debit card AND received a $200 bonus for having direct deposit when I switched to Chase. So yeah, I'm a big fan. Staff at the Santa Monica/Highland branch refused to help me deposit a check today. The supervisor there said she was exercising her "supervisor's discretion" bc of the amount but is that code for something else? Btw, since when do you need multiple IDs to deposit $$. The Woodland Hills Chase didn't have issues accepting a large check from the same company a few weeks ago....and the the Sunset/Vine Chase accepted the same check after this branch refused to deposit it. I understand if they have to hold the check for a few days to authenticate, but SM/Highland said no!!!! In 2022, you can't apply arbitrary standards and say random things like you're exercising "supervisor's discretion" to deny customer service. Was it bc I'm Asian, a woman, or was my hair too short? I actually had quite a different interaction at this location today compared to many of the other reviews. I received a fraud alert on my debit card. So, my card was cancelled. I went in and asked a personal banker (didn't get his name) if I could get a temporary card. He was very professional and nice. I recently just changed wallets and had mistakenly put my expired id in there. So, I was unable to withdraw cash. However, Marco, the teller was quite understanding and helped me with an alternative solution. So, I hate to disappoint all the negative reviewers. It's sad because this is a very busy area and a great location with parking. I always find parking. With that being said it's also close to my home. But there is ALWAYS a line with only 1 or 2 tellers working. I'm not blaming the tellers but I feel the branch manager and his or her upper suits should really pay close attention because it doesn't matter what time of day I go in, there is a line. You need to be able to trust that the people at your bank know what they're doing, but sadly I don't feel that's the case at all with the employees at this branch. Long story short, I needed to exchange some currency. I called this Chase ahead of time to see what their exchange rate was. Before answering any of my questions the woman on the other end rather waspishly asked if I was a customer. (I am) I understand that the bank services are for customers only, but there really are more friendly ways to make that point. Anyway, the rate she gave me was PHENOMENALLY good (I had called a few other businesses to compare), so I hightailed it over to the bank ASAP. At the bank I went up to the window. Teller One didn't seem to know how to process my request, and after scanning my bank card to confirm that I was a precious customer, passed me off to a different teller. Teller Two seemed equally confused, asking Teller One a bunch of questions on how to exchange money, and making me scan my card once more while I waited for them to figure things out. Finally, they were ready to process my order. And guess what? That phenomenally good rate that I rushed in for was wrong! We're talking 1.51 (quoted) to 1.72 (actual). At first the tellers tried to pass it off as a fluctuation of the market--yes, rates increase and decrease at the drop of the hat, but not that drastically, especially since when the other business I called quoted me something much closer to the 1.72. What actually happened was that the person I spoke with on the phone quoted me the currency buyback rate, which is normally lower. UGH! You're a bank, Chase. If zero stars can be given, that would better describe this branch and the kind of "customer service" or lack thereof that you receive!!! Not only are there always long lines with only one or two tellers but the wait times for personal banker are almost equivalent to the DMV experience...Araceli is extremely rude and initially I truly believed she would be helpful but the amount of attitude and side comments made by her made me realize I would not be helped at this branch at all. Blaaaarrrghhghgh! Gross. I just went to this Chase branch today to cash a Chase check. Since when did banking become like buying a used car? There were even balloons in the parking lot. I'm not a member of Chase Bank, but everyone in this branch was trying to high-pressure salesman me. Seven...SEVEN people were on top of me like starving vultures hocking Chase checking accounts. I even took the time to talk with one of the guys to see what their checking looked like. I'm open to hearing about it. WORST Chase branch I've ever been too. The manager was simply awful, I'm not even sure how she got that job. I have a business account with Chase and typically, you stand in the business transactions line because it has priority with service. Not many business have time to stand in line at the bank for 30 min before getting service, so that line is there to prevent such situations. However, that is not the case at this branch. All i needed to do was get a couple checks printed... simple. I waited in the business transactions line for 20 min, and watched as the normal line moved quickly. Finally, I was called over by a teller and the manager who was standing behind her said that I had to stay in the business line to get served because the personal tellers couldn't do the same thing as the business tellers. What a load!! Discouraged by the business transactions line, I left to go to another branch. At the other branch(vine st), the business line moved quickly. Everyone was friendly, the place impeccable and the service efficient. I vowed never return to this Weho branch ever again. I went to Vine St branch yesterday, and while the business transactions line was long, the personal tellers held up the personal banking line to assist those in the business transactions line. Now that is called service! If there was a way of not giving any stars to the weho branch, they would have a zero star rating from my part. read more

Honestly this bank really needs to improve customer service. Bank closes at 5pm literally came in at 2:15pm nearly three hours before the bank actually closes and no one could even help me with an issue I was having with fraud on my account. I asked the bank clerk if I could see someone about freezing my account because someone was trying to take over a thousand dollars out my account and while I saw three managers standing around not doing a thing and I was told no one could help me because they were busy. Come here if you want to waste hours of your life for nothing. No one at this bank knows what they're talking about and even their own policies. I came here at 4PM on 7/7/2020 to withdraw money from my checking account. After the teller failed to do so saying "they only do cash advances for non chase cards, not withdraws" even though I just did a withdraw from a Chase bank a week ago they told me to use the ATMs. I am trying to withdraw $1000 and my bank tells me I have that ability, my bank is on the phone. I keep trying to withdraw and Chase ATM says withdraw limit exceeded. I spoke to the two other people a male and a female at a teller desk and they kept telling me "it's your bank, not us, this machine has a $3000 withdraw limit. Lies! My own bank said that no request was being sent to them for a withdraw. Chase tried to tell me, oh it's your card, but my card was able to pull up my account balance no problem and my bank rep said they can see that activity. I withdraw $400 from Chase instead of $1000 and it works. I try another $400 and it won't. Chase tells me "It's your bank and your card problem." My bank tells me I have another $600 I can withdraw and it's Chase that's not processing it. I walk down the street to Wells Fargo and withdraw $600 from them no problem. There was never the limit on my card, I spend 2 hours at this Chase location being on hold to get through to my bank multiple times to try to clear the issue with the info Chase was giving me. It was all lies. I lost 2 hours of my life and $6 of my money in fees I should have never had to pay because I wanted one transaction withdrawing $1000 and Chase told me their machine would do that. Don't go here, they are incompetent. I knew there was a problem with them and when I asked to speak someone else to help me they didn't get anyone. I won't come here again. read more

I got charged an overdraft fee and wasn't notified about it until 48 hours later (making it impossible for me to transfer funds before getting charged the fee) and I called this branch and Luis was able to get me all squared away over the phone!
