She was pleasant,but a little unsure of how to go about it but she called someone for help a few times and it all got done. I mentioned that I had a check to deposit while I was there and she said she could handle that for me. She ran it through her machine, gave me a receipt and sent me on my way. She called back a few minutes later because she forgot to get a piece of vital info for the trust. A mistake, oh well,I gave it to her. No biggy. But then the following day Kelly called to tell me that the check I deposited was a foreign check from Canada. She says they don't accept foreign checks anymore. I explain that she gave me a receipt. She says,"yeah, that's on me. I guess I should have looked at the check." Hmmm. She tells me they reversed the deposit and now I need to come in and get the check. Confused, I ask if they have any suggestion on what my next step might be,she says "yeah, we don't accept those anymore." Three times at least. I say I understand and she says do you want me to see if they can make an exception for you? I reply in the affirmative. She ultimately sends me to a manager. I ask the manager if she has any recommendations to handle my issue. She says "we don't accept those anymore." Yes,I've heard that. Sigh. Any advice? She says I should open an account at a larger bank. I was dumbfounded. Change banks was their answer. Who says that? Move my money somewhere else? They accepted the check. This was not my mistake, it was their mistake. They did nothing to rectify it. The manager rattled off a few other things they don't do anymore and suggested having accounts at a larger bank might be the best option for me. AGAIN. I was so upset. I really loved this bank but this behavior is absurd and unacceptable. They are not the bank they once were.

She leaves from her seat and comeback with papers. She then proceeds, hesitates, and states, yes Mr. I spoke with my branch manager and we're unfortunately unable to open an account for you, due to inquires. You have too many inquires today, and whispers you applied for FirstBank also right, as if I was going to be caught up in something. I told her yes online, and just held my thought because I knew that application was still being processed. I didn't want these people digging any further into me and I already felt a prejudice nature. I told her my families planned move out the country and she took my honesty completely wrong before we got to inquires. All energy a person can simply feel. I'm not one to try to fit a particular description so I can tell when i'm being judged by that. I just proceeded with it's fine, have a nice day. Aside from the prejudice I thought about the bank the associate asked me if I had applied to. I thought that was very awkward to be concerned about another bank during an application of your own. A better way to describe it would be "You've tried dating to many people today, you can't go out with me." This also made me more interested in the other bank that was mentioned more. Long story short by the morning, the same bank the associate here questioned me about approved me. FYI I only applied for 3 banks online that day two of which approved me the very next day. For a person like myself my odds of approval are higher when prejudice isn't in the equation and my whole experience proved that. This also isn't my first experience like this with this bank. The first time I was turned down before even getting this far. My consumer file needed to be unlocked and I had to call the representative back. I did this immediately and never received a call back. I had good thoughts about this bank until my experiences truely showed me different. Be very cautious of this. If they make you feel uncomfortable just leave before you even introduce yourself is my best advice to anyone.

I couldn't have been happier or recommended them enough, up until the last few years. The good: Pleasant employees when doing business in person. Seems to be financially strong and long standing. The bad: Rates are rarely competitive. I had a horrible telephone customer service experience from someone that couldn't have cared less. When the inquiries were going nowhere, I asked him to connect me to my Concierge service and he acted like he had never heard of such a thing. I recently emailed the Concierge service to ask about a rate, and days later I'm still waiting for a response. What's the point of lying to your customers about having such a service? I have multiple financial institutions. I won't be closing this account but I will be taking a punishing amount of money out of Credit Union of Southern California. And on a smaller note, I checked to see if I was credited a finders fee for the last recommended member I brought to CUSC, and that ball was dropped as well. Wow! What happened to you guys?

We with…read morethem since 1990s, and following from Chinatown in LA, Monterey Park, Rowland Heights, then Westminster, Fountain Valley, Irvine, and Orange, then they closed the Orange branch, moved to Yorba Linda. OMG, really, most the branches they keep and think is a better location but is not. The new location in Yorba Linda, so so bad. Is dead, no one goes there, and the surroundings in the parking lot is so dangerous for nowadays, it has so many poles and pillars to create so many blind spots and angles hard to see from every where. I think is a safety issue for the clients and the employees. Even though is in the broad a light every time I go, and I have to make sure myself is loaded cuz I am so scared to get robb. And the day light savings are coming soon, no way I am going there. And then the traffics are horrible, every time we came from Orange, Anaheim Hills, placentia areas, 10 minutes away took about 30 minutes average. A very quiet parking lot next to the imperial highway and 55 fwy is a perfect ambush and smash and crab location for the bad guys.
