I've been doing business with Chase for some time now. I established a dedicated account here to manage income from a 2nd job to use it for household repair, maintenance, etc. Since the 2nd job no longer exists I no longer have a need for this account. Additionally, the monthly fee structure as it applied to me dictated that though I was able to devote less money to the account, I'd be charged MORE money to maintain the account. Thus, sad to say, I needed to close this account in order to save the few remaining dollars I had left! So my most recent visit was for the purpose of closing the account. I found the service to be this time as typical- crisp business like and orchestrated. Representatives are stationed at various points to strategically approach and service. However, I found it much easier to interface with a teller or the ATM machine for simple tasks versus to see an account rep (as required to ask questions or to make changes to the account). read more

Service is bad & getting worse at the Carpenter/Ellsworth branch. I had two issues and wanted to speak with one of the bankers in the cubicles. They have 'referees' (customer service reps) who greet you at the door and ask about your issue. After showing the referee the Chase letter I received, I was directed to the tellers at the back of the bank and told to "wait in line", but was criticized and corrected when I attempted to move less than 10 feet away from the teller I was assigned to see. When I questioned this practice with the teller, I was treated with more rudeness, as she tersely explained that those in the "line" needed to be seen by all of the tellers, including tellers in the front (the ones who are behind the giant ATM in the center of the lobby). So, I was directed to the back tellers, but not allowed to go back there to wait? Also, the teller had no idea why I got the letter I did and could only guess. TLDR: All business needs to be first explained to a referee, we are not allowed to speak with or wait for a banker, all business must be done with a teller, and while waiting, customers must remain within the view of all of the tellers. Two referees were enforcing this. A friend mentioned that the Eisenhower branch near the mall does not have these silly rules, at least for now. I remember the days not long ago at the Ellsworth branch when they not only let you wait for a banker, but offered free coffee. They actually wanted their customers around, imagine that! read more

1 or all of the drive-thru ATM's are broken, like a solid 88% of the time. Haven't been inside though.

I typically do not go to this branch, but there are few times I end up here because I'm on this side of town doing my errands... I have been to this branch several times and all the visits - I always got a mixed review and today was the worst of all my visits! I pulled in, went inside the bank... waited in line - first... two tellers working - both females helping two female customers... got my checks out, my ID ready to go.... the teller to my left is chatting with the customer and they are talking about Shazam. So literally they talked about Shazam for ten minutes and the teller wasn't doing anything on her terminal... as they are chatting away, the other teller to my right is helping the customer and joins in on the conversation about shazam... she doesn't know what it it, so the customer on my left is explaining what the app does and yeah, this prolongs the conversation... once the conversation ended, I ended up waiting 15 minutes; when I looked behind me, there were five people waiting behind me. The teller to my right finished with the customer she was helping... the teller to my left was waiting for her... the teller to my right helps her, leaves her and tells me to go to another teller in the back... doesn't apologize for the long wait, nothing, just says, 'sir, over there'. I think this teller knew I was pissed, but I wasn't... more of annoyed... why spend 15 minutes talking about an app when it's busy as if their conversation was more important then helping customers. I've been to the branch on Green/Plymouth, Briarwood, downtown, Maple and may others... and I have never seen such type of conversation being held... even when they do chat, they end it to help the customers.... yeah, this branch I will avoid as much as I can.... such horrible service! read more

When I walked into the bank today I told the man who greeted me what I needed. the man said "you can do all that on the app" and said there were 3 others in front of me. No teller windows open. I entered and stood around in what looked like a closed lobby. After about 5 minutes some one directed me to some tellers that where hidden in the back. The man who finally spoke with me was the manager. He was also brusque and cold. I do not recommend this branch. read more

If I could I would give zero stars. The drive thru is always slow. They have only one person working it. I also had a bunch of change that I wanted to exchange and they told me I need to count it and put it in rolls. Seriously?!? You're the bank. It's literally your job to count money. I ended up walking out after I attempted to place the chance into to rolls. I went across to the gas station and they had no problem taking my change and giving me bills for it. They need better coverage during peak times and get a change counter and stop complaining that it breaks all the time if that's the issue be ready to count customers change. I typically like to leave good reviews, but man I am annoyed with this location. read more

I appreciate a lot about Chase as our bank. But this is one bank branch I avoid and I was recently reminded why. I went through the drive through to make a deposit and ask for change for a 10 dollar bill. One five and five ones. Straight forward right? So we began the process and it took 25 minutes of waiting in the drive through lane. There were requests for ID and all kinds of questions, and then more waiting. Really for a deposit? Into a bank account with a healthy balance. The lady at the counter apologizes like she forgot us sitting there and then she hurriedly (after almost half- an -hour) sends over the ten dollars as two fives!. I reminded her that I was asking for a five and five ones. She was all flustered and told me she was the manager and that she is sorry she was just covering. After a few more minutes we finally got our change. It took nearly forty minutes in a drive through line!!! I will go to Eisenhower or Ypsi or anywhere else before I go to this Ellsworth branch. read more

Avoid this branch like the plague. They have too many BS and discriminatory ways of doing business with their customers. I have been banking with Chase for 8+ years in michigan, california, nevada and new york. I travel a lot in my job. I never had any problems doing my transactions until now when I went into this branch. I recently moved back in town and I live across the street from this branch. I come in here to do my usual transactions like cash advance (withdrawals) from my other banks, deposits to my chase accounts, and other transactions like I usually do for the past 8 years and all of a sudden I cannot do it anymore because of this branch. They purposely decline your transactions because of I dont know what reason (most likely discrimination) and after they did that, my cash advance withdrawals would never go through anymore because of their repeated declination of my withdrawals. Believe me, I have been doing the same transactions for the past 8 years in other branches and states and I never had any problems until now when I stepped into this branch. I really wanted to like this branch because I live across from it but they are making it inconvenient for their customers. Just like the other reviews other people left on here, they are discriminative and would turn away customers for no reason. I dont know, maybe they dont trust you or you're not dressed well enough or something like that. Even after verifiying your identity with your picture ID. The transactions still would not go through. Maybe because this is a small-town and everyone knows everyone, therefore if they dont know or trust you then you can get the hell out of their branch instead. This is the most retarded Chase branch I've ever seen where they will make it inconvenient for you due to their trust issues, discriminatory and bs security measures. I understand the security measures are for us customers to protect us, but when you make it inconvenient for them and not let them do what they need to do is complete BS. This branch made me stopped banking with Chase and opened an account with DFCU down the street instead, at least all my transactions go through at DFCU and I could go on my way without any problems and inconvenience. After 8+ years I will have to say goodbye to Chase, just because of this particular branch. Unfortunately because I live across the street from it. If i still lived in New York or California I probably would still be a Chase customer because I never had any problems there. My advice to this branch's supervisor, go back to the basics which is customer satisfaction. Let the customers do what they need to do especially if their identity is verified and all documentation and identification is provided. Actually, I take that back. Corporate office should fire this branch's supervisor and put a new one instead who knows how to deal and satisfy customers. Honestly, the employees here aren't bad. They are really nice and will greet you with a smile, but what matters most is being able to do the transactions you need to do and not be turned away. Its really inconvenient. After reading the other guys review I should have realized that this is an awful branch. They spent minutes waiting for a supervisor/ manager for a transaction override because "I was withdrawing a lot of money" and they were reviewing my transactions to verify if it me after they saw my state ID and debit card. Will never come to this branch again. read more

Rude, slow and discriminatory service! They really do judge people by race appearance and make assumptions. Sorry, just so you know some of your ex-clients dont fit the your narrow mold, yet they chose to take their investments somewhere else where they are treated with respect.
