I came in with a rotated pelvis that caused my body to twist every time I squat down and I constantly felt like one leg was longer than the other when running. After a few minutes of chiro adjustments and a bit of ART, for the first time in years my movements were balanced! I kept saying, "NO WAY! I can't believe it!" When I made it to the front desk the receptionist was just as wonderful. She was friendly, professional, and very happy to work there. Dr. Leahy is beyond an expert! He's professional and has a high degree of skill when it comes to adjusting misaligned vertebra that cause muscular back pain and inflamed nerves. Typically in 1-2 visits he'll fix your back issue. If the issues are super complicated, it may take a few more visits to remedy. But, he's not like other chiropractors who'll keep you coming back for unnecessary visits. The establishment is pretty nice too, though not always so easy to locate off the streets. read more

SCAM ARTIST! BEWARE! Like others on this site I was scammed from "Dr" Leahy. I went in for light therapy and an adjustment of his "made up ART" (it is not the same ART as everyone is thinking), and I was told to come back for more light therapy. I came back for light therapy (which did absolutely ZERO for me) and after the session he said let me look at your neck. He pushed down on my neck/shoulder area for about 5 seconds and then had the front desk person charge me for an adjustment. What!!! "let me see" translates to $65 for 20 seconds. I have been going to Dr Leahy for more than 20 years. I have tried other chiropractors, but never had one that can adjust me like he does. He doesn't use a lot of gimmicks, he just knows how to do the right adjustment. It doesn't take him long so you don't have to be in there for a long time, but he really knows what he's doing and I always leave feeling better. he also does ART and light therapy. Both of those are very beneficial, especially the light therapy. He is very knowledgeable on many aspects of health and has lots of good input for different problems that you may be having. His office staff, Kristi, is very welcoming and such a hard worker! She does everything in her power to make you feel right at home. Even when the doctor is not there, she is very happy to help me with light therapy. She always has a smile on her face and genuinely happy to see me. You can easily see that she loves her job! I couldn't imagine going to a different office or a different chiropractor. CHASE chiropractic is the best in the bay area in my opinion. Without this treatment, I would have had to do surgery and I would not be working like I am now. It has been a life saver for me. Dr. Leahy is wonderful! I've been seeing him for 7 years. He is the best chiropractor who helped a lot with my neck and back pain. They also provide excellent acupuncture and message therapy here. I do love the medical service here. However, I always have a hard time to arrange my appointment with the front desk(her name is Kristi). It's very frustrating to not able to go Through phone calls. I had to contact the therapists themselves or even call the doctors wife to make appointment. 2 days ago, after a treatment session, I made an appointment for today with Kristi at the front desk, in person. When I came in today, she told me there is no appointment for me at all, and asked me to leave because the therapist is busy. It is okay if you double booked my time slot, we can reschedule. However, Kristi showed terrible attitude and told me that no one would treat me, they don't like me. I was totally shocked as I have been a friend with Dr. Leahys wife for many years. Also have been coming here regularly for the past 7 years. How can this receptionist insult me like that? I am really outrageous. I went to Joe Leahy based on the recommendation of a friend. I was experiencing shoulder pain, and was told that he was the right person to see to get it fixed. Along with that recommendation, he is also listed as a 49ers team doctor, so while I was a bit skeptical, I thought well, how bad could he be?? So I went to see him. He examined me, and subsequently explained in technical terms what he'd found. I asked him if it was something he could fix, and he said yes. Absolutely. He was certain he could fix it. He was even a little smug about it, but I'm fine with that if he can fix the problem. He said it would only take 4-6 sessions to eliminate the problem. It was a slam-dunk fix. I felt relieved hearing this, and was actually optimistic. After the first session, there was some minor improvement on one side. He gave me some exercises to do daily, which I did religiously. After two sessions, no improvement. I continued with the exercises. After 3 sessions with him, I felt worse. But I continued with his exercises. After 4 sessions, I felt much worse, and at that point he started talking about surgery or my getting an MRI. Say what??? Are you kidding? This was nothing like what he'd said initially, and the certainty that he could fix me (along with the smugness) was completely gone. I was shocked. Had he not been so certain at the outset, I wouldn't even have gone beyond the initial consultation. Sadly, my initial skepticism was well founded, and frankly I felt very misled. Each session with him lasted about 5 minutes, maybe less. He charged about $80 for each 5 minute session. Not bad for 5 minutes of time. Not good if you're the patient, though. In the end, his 'Active Release Technique' only served to 'actively release' hundreds of dollars from my account over to his, with the end result that I felt worse than when I first saw him. Subsequently I went to my MD. After he treated me (no surgery or MRI required, by the way!), the problem was essentially gone. Silly me. I should have gone there to begin with. Don't waste your time or your money here, like I stupidly did. read more

I finally got an MRI, and saw that I had 4 bulging and one crushed disk (L1 -L5). Kaiser had not been able to diagnose these for 20 +years, they just had me down as a whiner. The Sports/Spinal surgeon Dr. Radu said 'Sorry, nothing I can do for you'. Dr. Leahy used his traction machine, the DRX5000, and after all those wasted years of lack of sleep, numbness, 'zingers', psiatica pain, and sudden cramps - IT WAS OVER! I feel free. Dr Leahy's staff is skillful and considerate, and pleasant. I'm sold. He's great. They are great (Daniel and Shannon)...good people. Dr Leahy moved and I lost that silly paper that says where they ran off to, but I think it's still in Los Gatos and if anyone has seen him, let me know. I could call but that would be EASY. I really need to see him because I fell off a bike on Hamilton and Meridian (during the evening rush, on my way to Safeway) and really messed up my knee. This office is top notch! I've been coming here for about 8 months now with a chronic shoulder issue. I have been seeing the naturopathic doctor, Dr. Josh Donaldson for prolotherapy treatments, an alternative to surgery. I have also seen Dr. Leahy for some neck adjustments. Both of these doctors are very knowledgeable, compassionate and eager to help rid you of pain. I am doing remarkably better, and have them to thank for it!! Misleading treatment practice, think I'm going in for the laser therapy session only at $50 fee then Dr takes me in a different room and spends less than 5 min on my sore area and the charge is over $100. In no way was I told about this beforehand that I would be seeing the Dr also. Plus with that treatment that he did he said is supposed to make me feel better immediately and I ended up re-injuring myself that evening & in no way felt any better after treatment. I decided to stop going there as I can't afford to be caught off guard like that with crazy fees when I only wanted the laser therapy. read more

I'd like to start by stating that Dr. Ryne Fiebig is an amazing chiropractor. I went in with my wife, as she was recommended to him, and as I saw her progress I thought to myself, "Maybe he can help me out." I'd injured my shoulder many times over the years, and just figured that I would have to live with limited mobility. When I asked Dr. Fiebig if he could take a look, he was able to pinpoint, with precision, key locations that inhibited my shoulder's movement. It's now been four months now, and I feel like my shoulder is just about perfect. I went from once a week, for the first month, and have steadily decreased my visits, since the plan is to get me to where I'm no longer in need of his treatment. He's detailed and always records my progress. After a session, he'll supply a few stretches that I can do on my own, to help the process move along. Dr. Ryne has been extremely professional, and never works past my limits. Although my shoulder is what we've focused on, he's also given me adjustments, whereafter I feel "whole", and has also helped me with overall functional movement. The receptionists are always friendly, and the office itself is as clean as can be, which helps one get comfortable and at ease. It's been an absolute pleasure, and a true blessing to have encountered Dr. Ryne. He's knowledgeable, and with his versatile skill set, I'm moving like I haven't moved in years. I haven't been to Dr. Leahy in a few years - that's because his treatment was so successful that I no longer have chronic back pain. I had back pain for at least 10 years from my previous nursing career. I am very active and have always worked out and tried to stay in shape. However, my back would bother me most days and I had sciatic nerve pain that ran down my left leg. When I met my husband, after hearing about my back pain he recommended that I see Dr. Leahy. I was a bit skeptical, never having been to a chiropractor before. I thought it was worth a shot so I began treatment with Dr. Leahy. I had about a year's worth of treatment, seeing Dr. Leahy several times a week to start then tapering off until I was going once a month. Within a few week's I began to experience relief from the sciatic pain. After a year, I was completely pain free and only saw Dr. Leahy when I had pain. I am now completely pain free and have enjoyed good back health ever since. I would not hesitate to see Dr. Leahy if I need treatment again. He is also a super nice guy and is very patient, kind, and gentle. He doesn't run a mass marketing campaign for his services and badger you with cheesy marketing the way some chiropractors do. He gives you one-on-one service and is willing to spend time talking and answering your questions. He is also willing to come in on a semi-emergency basis when you are in a lot of pain. I had pain after my first neck adjustment and he told me that if it didn't go away to call him and he'd meet me at his office to do another adjustment. By Saturday I was still in pain and he was as good as his word and met me to do an adjustment free of charge to correct the issue. He really puts his patient's comfort first! Can't begin to express how fantastic I feel since receiving DRX 9000 treatment from Dr. Leahy. I have endured back problems all of my life. My spine has never felt better since I was a teenager. I am not from the area, but my sister has been a long time patient of Dr. Markovitz, and on my visit, I had a neck issue that had gotten bad again. He got me in no problem, and was very, very nice, fun, and lighthearted. He made me feel comfortable, since I am afraid of people touching my head, neck, or back. He also explains to you what is going on with your issue, and explains what that bone (in my case it was my vertebra) does. I was very informed and any questions I had were answered so well by him. I left happy and enlightened. When it came to adjusting me, he used two methods, and then the last was a manual adjustment. He told me that if I was too tense or couldn't relax, that he was NOT going to do it. He asked me if I wanted him to tell me when he was going to do it, and I said no. He didn't, I stayed relaxed, and then he adjusted me. I immediately felt a kind of relief and was impressed by how cool that was. The adjustments didn't hurt at all! I was totally fine the whole time. I definitely wish he could be my permanent chiropractor, haha! read more

I had only gone to one a few times with my mom years earlier. I went to Dr. Leahy at least 5 times and I don't think he did me any favors and it always hurt. He also had me do physical therapy in his office which was useless. My kids and I are now seeing an awesome Chiropractor who is even better than Dr. Joseph so they are out there. Dr. Leahy is EXACTLY what I have been looking for in a chiropractor. He is extremely educated and efficient. As a massage therapist it's important to make clients feel confident that you know what your doing and he was able to pinpoint the problem in less than 1 minute of meeting him which made me feel safe. He was kind enough to stay late for me for a same day appointment on a FRIDAY!!! And I was very greatful :) I was recommended to him and I was not disappointed! I woke up with slipped ribs which caused radiating pain all the way around my chest and into my sternum making breathing very painful! The kind staff was especially nice and cared about all the patients that were being seen. One of the receptionists, Karen, was very kind over the phone and even more sweet in person. In one visit I am already feeling better. I am going in again on monday just for a follow up. I have found a new chiropractic home with Dr. Leahy and I plan on returning. Chase Chiropractic is the best clinic I have ever seen. Dr. Leahy, who is a 49er's sports team doctor, is a very skillful expert, especially on concussions. My son was being careless and hit his head - hard. It was a serious concussion and he felt very dizzy and couldn't go to sleep. Dr. Leahy did an excellent treatment on him, especially his new invention: LED light treatment. My son recovered faster than usual and is now fully recovered. I really appreciate Dr. Leahy's help! It's hard not to give five stars to someone who has literally put me back on my feet! This was my first experience with a chiropractor; it was a lucky referral by a former patient. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis in February by a spine specialist who wanted to operate or give me an epidural, I wouldn't accept either alternative. Physical therapy helped somewhat but traction really allowed me to go back to the athletic activities I had given up -- and with no pain. IMHO, Dr. Leahy is a miracle worker! He is patient, answers questions, and explains processes. I was skeptical, but I was willing to try anything to ease the pains. To be positive, I used to say I was in pretty good shape for the shape I was in. Now I can say: I'm in good shape! I don't know of a better recommendation!!! read more

To those interested in recovery... My first step after my injury was to an Orthopedist. I was diagnosed with a disk injury in my neck. For multiple reasons it was determined that surgery was not yet an option. My strength was still good in both arms and hands. But, I had lots of pain. Rehabilitation therapy was suggested - I was referred to an incredible therapist - my treatment began. Once the acute inflammation was reduced - various exercises to strengthen my back, neck and shoulders were introduced. I was taught how to properly stretch - which was one of the most amazing discoveries. I finished my prescribed visits to the therapist - and returned to my orthopedist for another evaluation. My condition had gotten better. I then asked the therapist if she felt a visit to my chiropractor was allowed - I felt I needed to have adjustments between my shoulders and to other areas of my back and neck. To my surprise she agreed, as long as they didn't adjust the portion of the neck that had been injured. After review of all my MRI and other films Dr Leahy began a very specific treatment. His main focus was maintaining my alignment in other areas of the back and reducing stress on my neck while I continued to work on recovery. It was then that I began feeling the best I had in a year. Dr Leahy is now a regular monthly visit. His tissue stretching method or "ART" has been an amazing discovery for me. Every visit he slowly stretches my back and neck reestablishing my range of motion before his adjustments. The combination of therapies has allowed me to now sleep through the night without medication. Most importantly I continue to recover. I highly recommend his practice.
