When I first saw Dr. Chun, I was in a lot of nerve pain from my lower spine. I was on nerve pain medication, my exercise level was poor at best, and I struggled to take care of my infant because I couldn't lift her for long or even take her shopping on my own. Over the course of several months, Dr. Chun worked with me to get my spine back in shape. Within two months I stopped taking nerve pain medication, and he worked with insurance to get me a TENS machine to use at home for nerve pain management EVEN THOUGH he was out of network with my insurance carrier. I became more independent, and was able to do things like take my child to the store, and even carry her upstairs. The work he did then was life-changing for my quality of life. When I became pregnant again, he worked with me to ensure my back and hips were strong and able to handle the pregnancy and taking care of a toddler. I felt minimal sciatica and my back was strong all the way through to labor (for example, I could walk down stairs without having to grip the railing for dear life in third trimester). My attorney referred me to this office as a result of a car accident in 2023. I was seen by Dr. Jack Vong. Dr. Vong was hesitant to make any adjustments for the first couple of weeks without seeing a MRI (totally understandable). I informed him that I had requested a MRI from my PCP and it was scheduled a few weeks out. However, he was extremely pushy about getting a MRI done at Sunnyvale Imaging Center because he frequently works with them and he claims that their reports are thorough, and would capture things that a standard MRI would not capture. He sent a referral for me to get my MRI done there, despite knowing that I already had my MRI scheduled through my PCP. He claimed that they would be able to get me in within the week (which was not true because I did give them a call and their scheduling was around the same time I would've gotten my MRI that my PCP scheduled). He spent countless sessions telling me that MRI reports require a certain skill to interpret and that he spent years training to do so. Fast forward to getting my MRI results, I provided the summary, the report, and the actual imaging scans for him to read. He briefly looked at the report and said these are not the reports he's trained to read. He then again referred me to Sunnyvale Imaging Center to get another MRI done there. I thought it was extremely unprofessional because he literally spent the last couple of sessions telling me about how he's trained to review and interpret these types of things. I ended up getting a second opinion from another chiropractor who was able to read my MRI results and didn't push me to go to Sunnyvale Imaging Center. It ultimately sounded like Dr. Vong was getting a referral fee if I went there. read more

The front desk staff seemed a little distracted at first but got the job done. Once I was in the exam room, the nurse did a basic screening and made sure I was comfortable. The doctor showed up shortly after, and although they didn't say much at the beginning, they became more engaging once I started talking about my symptoms. I think they were just trying to understand everything first before speaking too much. They asked some follow up questions that showed they were actually listening. During the physical part of the exam, they were gentle but thorough and made sure to explain what they were doing along the way. I appreciated the calm approach. They are actually located kitty corner to the elevator so I will try that next time as I am seven months pregnant. I came at five in the afternoon on a Monday and was greeted warmly by Sara I was able to use the bathroom quickly with the key. Dr. Jack was great and really informative and really thorough with the initial evaluation. He was understanding about my pregnancy and kept checking in. I have been seeing Dr. Chun on and off for the past 5 years. I usually would come see Dr. Chun when I have some type of sports injury (i.e. tennis/golf elbow, sprain ankle, etc.). With my last injury, I came in to have my lower back evaluated. Checking in with the receptionist was warm and welcoming. As soon as Dr. Chun came to get me, we discussed a strategy on how to address the lower back pain. After doing some adjustments and stretching, I immediately felt relief and the pain was alleviated. I've had the BEST experience with Dr. Chun! At 32 weeks of pregnancy, I started experiencing the absolute worst back/sacrum pain of my life. No exaggeration here - I'm very well accustomed to lower back pain for the last 10+ yrs, and this was on another level. It was to a point where I was barely mobile, it was difficult to move myself to even use the bathroom, get on my bed, etc. In my mind, I was already mourning my birth preferences that I had prepped for, thinking there's no way I could labor if I couldn't even stand. Well, Dr. Chun came to the rescue! I've been to my fair share of chiro, acu, PT - you name it, I've been. I can spot a good doctor from a mile away (and bad ones too haha). Dr. Chun is very detailed, he analyzed my neck to tail bone and hips although I came in specifically for my lower back/tail bone pain and basically called out all my past history of injuries. He was able to pin point specific points that needed to be worked on just by light touch. It can be daunting to go to a chiro while pregnant. However, my OB was a huge proponent of chiropractic care during pregnancy since honestly OB's aren't able to help much in this department, all they can say is "it happens to people". Dr. Chun has knowledge on what are things he can do/can not do for pregnant people, and was able to do conservative adjustments since I was in 3rd tri. He mainly used the activator, stretching, and KT tape to treat me. Dr. Chun truly cares about his patients - he even gave me his phone number in case I had any questions or emergencies that I needed to consult with him on. After just ONE WEEK (4 visits), I was SO MUCH BETTER. Honestly while typing this, I'm still mind blown. With my previous back pain experiences, I would be in pain for weeks or even months. New updates for the (kind of ) new location ! I used to see Dr Chun for both pain and sustaining purposes. I even went to him for adjustments during my pregnancy a few years ago. Dr Chun knew what adjustments could be and should be done for different trimesters , and it helped prevent back pain from pregnancy. I believe because of the diligent prenatal adjustments, I have not had lower back pain from child birth (I did have epidural). I recently returned to see Dr Chun during this pandemic. I was 36 weeks pregnant when I came in to see Dr. Daniel. I found out my baby was breached and there was a maneuver that a chiropractor can do to help move the baby into the proper position for labor. Five months before writing this, I started experiencing what would become extreme sciatica nerve pain. I came to new hope chiropractic after having severe back pain caused by working from home in less than optimal setup.
