Beautiful stadium, attended the 2018 ASU commencement here and it was a fantastic place to spend a few hours watching the ceremony, 105 degrees outside, nice and comfy inside and they opened the roof for fireworks after the ceremony. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would like to see a game or concert here in the future. Easy walking distance from many of the hotels in the downtown area so no need to worry about parking at the stadium. Highly recommended. read more

Take me out to the ballgame! Chase field is unlike any other; from the retractable roof (thank goodness for that in the summer), to the pool in the outfield and Friday's front row overlooking the field of play, it is one of a kind. I have been enjoying this stadium since it was first built and it is still as wonderful today as it was then. The entire place is extremely clean, smells like a ballpark (you know fried food, popcorn, fresh grass...), easy to navigate, and offers entertainment and food for just about anyone. Through the years the park has expanded its entertainment options; kids can play in the play place, you can work out at the gym, watch the organ player, hit up the brewery in the outfield, swim in the pool, eat and drink just about anything you want, shop fan merchandise, and watch he game of course! One of my least favorite things about going to games, concerts, or big events is using the public restrooms. The lines (especially as a female), and the cleanliness can be a concern; however at Chase this is not a problem. I have never stood in line due to the vast number of restrooms, and they are always clean! The clean up crew does an incredible job all the way around. The only negative I can say is that the price of food at some of the stands can be extremely high. I guess they have to make money, but be sure to bring your wallet. 0/5 for parking. Absolutely awful. Clearly whoever planned this location and parking garage had no foresight whatsoever. It took over an hour after arriving to actually park. Within the hour, we were still unable to make it to the actual Chase parking garage. If you use any of the surface streets, it will cost you $30-70 to park. If you're further away and want to use one of the rigshaws to get to the stadium, that's another $30 each way. Actual stadium 3/5 The directional and instructional signage at the actual stadium is sorely lacking inside and out, poorly organized, no one was quite sure where they were going or how to actually get there (what are all these different lines for, how do you get upstairs, where is food, etc.). The rows are each like 20 seats long, so there's a big difference how many people you're crawling over depending on which side you enter from, which also would be helpful to have indicated. The women's bathrooms were also clearly an afterthought, as 2/3 of the space was taken up by urinals, so there were only a few actual usable stalls for women. The prices as far as concessions are pretty standard for these venues, not especially expensive as far as that goes. Chase Field provides a very pleasant baseball experience. Unfortunately we don't make it to games often enough, but the couple times we've gone we've had a great time. Seats are great (both times we've sat in the 300's)-I don't think there's a bad spot in the house. We like sitting near the sandlot. They have great activities for the kiddos. Food options are abundant and there is something for every taste and budget. Parking doesn't seem to be an issue as garages abound. I don't think paying $10 for parking is that steep. I love seeing the diamondbacks play and glad they are my home team! read more

A quick update for the 2017 season. Chase Field really is going all out with their new menu for fans, with dozens of new and one of a kind food concoctions made specifically for the ballpark. Tonight was my first game of the 2017 season so I decided to look into some of their new items. My stomach only had enough room for three of them, though when I describe them you'll probably consider my feat a herculean miracle. You will either come away from this update grossed out or intrigued. So here goes. I was actually going to try the new Enchilada dog which is a Mexican spin on the 18 inch long D-Bat Dog. However I was misdirected by the usher so I instead decided on a couple of different options for my first game this season. First, The Bacon Wrapped Pretzel Baguette. A footlong sandwich with tons of ham and swiss cheese stuffed into a pretzel baguette. And then yes, the baguette is wrapped from end to end in bacon and fried. Bacon lovers, this sandwich will be nothing short of an etherial experience for you. The creaminess of the cheese does a pretty good job mellowing out the meat flavors, though make no mistake, this is a heavy hitting sandwich. Second, the Funnel Cake Chicken Sandwich. Say what you ask? Alright, this one is another step up on the insane scale. A crispy and slightly spicy chicken fillet topped with cheddar cheese and strawberry jam. And then the insane part. Instead of buns, the sandwich is bookended by two funnel cakes with powdered sugar. And if you're really game, it comes with maple syrup on the side to dunk your sandwich. Its a delicious hot mess of a sandwich. The funnel cakes pretty much disintegrated after the first couple of bites so I was operating the rest with a knife and fork (which admittedly made it easier to dunk the fixins in the syrup). Great contrasts of sweet, salty and savory throughout the sandwich, though I was nearly wearing it after attempting to hold everything together with two hands. After about 5 innings of letting that fatty cholesterol bomb sit in my stomach, I got up the courage to go for one more of the D-Backs' new food creations. Dessert anyone? Many of you have probably heard of the Churro Dog, right? But have you seen Churro Dog 2.0? The specs: A long john glazed donut with a footlong churro inside (this churro is rolled in Oreo cookie crumbs). Then on top, there's three scoops of vanilla frozen yogurt, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and lots and lots of Oreo cookie crumbs. Its a delicious dessert to be sure and a filling one, though I'll be honest I prefer the original Churro Dog myself. The original Churro Dog doesn't have the Oreo accents and is instead topped with caramel sauce. If you're a huge Oreo fan, you'll love the 2.0. If not, stick to the original Churro Dog. Cost for the Funnel Cake Sandwich? $12. Cost for the Bacon Wrapped Pretzel Baguette? $15. Cost for Churro Dog 2.0? $11. As with pretty much all food and beverage items at Chase Field, its gonna be more expensive than similar fare you might get at your neighborhood restaurant or grocery store. But think of it this way, if you're going to go a ballgame and spend extra anyway, you might as well get your money's worth and get something at the ballpark you won't get anywhere else. Right? Based on my three items, the D-Backs stadium chefs have done a great job coming up with unique and innovative (if perhaps weird or arguably grotesque) food items that adventurous foodies will likely enjoy. Don't be ashamed, don't be self conscious. It's the ballpark. Have fun. Live a little and take a shot at some of these items. Even if it cuts about 20 years off your life as I likely did. read more

Been to 22 stadiums and this was not my favorite. I would not say it's bad like the old Vet or Shea and in its defense this stadium is older than the newer wave. Heck it's only two years younger than Turner Field and the Braves already replaced that! The roof has to be there too as much as that's not baseball to me because it was hot as (insert your favorite analogy here) outside to the point the asphalt was melting under my flip flop when I got back to my car. The sound is oddly quiet until there's a good play and indoor sound bounces off the walls. The fans are generally knowledgeable but not to a St. Louis level for example. Food options are medium variety but quality seemed higher than average. A cup of froyo was only 5 bucks and they loaded up mine for good value. One key to be aware of. Some teams have bark in the Park day, we'll AriZona has the PetSmart deck more than once a year but it's for a good cause. If you adopt a pet then can get a cool booth with gated perimeter to watch game and bind with your new pet. It is a great cause for sure but if you are allergic to animals stay away from the area (luckily I am not). Parking seems decent and there's enough to do in the area at the convenient downtown location. Most seats have good sight lines but some upper deck seats may be the biggest nosebleed in America. The secret to this stadium is the bar on the 200 level in right field (not left). It's the only place anyone is allowed to go on the middle level and bar is open seating. If you do well can get a view better than from your actual seat. Beer isn't cheaper than vendors but is equivalent price with larger selection and you can get water cups that aren't 8 bucks or whatever a bottle costs. So overall a stadium worth going to if you live in the area, but many of the newer ballparks especially ones with a roof have learned from this one. The stories I have heard about the game day staff with veterans, cancer survivors, etc is top notch, perhaps the best in the league. read more

This was my first visit to this park on Opening Weekend against the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox. Getting to and finding where to park was, eh, somewhat easy. Day one I ended up parking in the garage across the street,$15, and day two I ended up parking in a random lot a block away,$15. The stadium is easy to navigate and has lots of food options, however, not too diverse or many options, but you can get all the standard ball game items like peanuts, hotdogs, soda. Finding our seats was easy enough, as there are clear signs. The team shops were great, and the bigger ones had lots of cool memorabilia as well as any fan wear you can think of. I sat in sections 304 as well as 308, right field side, on purpose, so the fam could get great views of MVP Mookie Betts. The temperature inside was perfect, and the roof was even opened on the Saturday game, bringing in a pleasant breeze. There is one JumbroTron which displays the pitcher and batter, and shows notable plays. The in between entertainment was always family friendly and fun. The seating is steep enough that you're not ever too far away from the field, great sight lines from everywhere. Ticketing was efficient, and they do do a purse/bag check prior to entry. There's really not much to complain about here. If there is one thing that keeps it at 4 stars, it is that has pretty much zero charm to it. Functional and great design and concept, wonderful seating and presentation. However, I've been to Coors Field in Denver, and these were built around the same time, mid-90's, and that place was quite charming. And, one more item of note: I had a rogue urinal that shot water out all over my crotch upon flushing so that was a real bummer. All in all, great family outing, somewhat easy to park and get out after, normal concession prices, ($7 soda, $7 hotdog,etc) I will return to see more games when in Phoenix. read more

I like Chase Field. I really do. The roof that can close protecting me from all that Arizona sun. The cheap food options where one can bring a family to a game and not break the bank. The swimming pool in center field. And... the baseball. The lower rating is for two things. 1) The home plate lounge (Quattro) leaves a lot to be desired. Please take a page out of Legends in Yankee Stadium or Diamond Club in T-Mobile Park. The food is overpriced here, really not that good, and it is too freaking crowded down there! 2) We had some seats in section HW which is right next to the field but just a little below the ground. A lot of the seats are obstructed with a beam. We kept having to move in our seats to watch the game. Furthermore, the usher busts out a folding chair for the two side seats. Sorry, but if I am paying that much, my seats are going to have arms and cushions. Fix those two things and I will gladly provide a five star rating. read more

I really like this stadium. My 14th MLB stadium visit. It's one of the few stadiums that has air conditioning and a retractable roof. But probably because the temperature in Phoenix in the summer is like walking in the sun. The sight lines were great from our seats 40 rows behind home plate. The food options are pure gluttony. But there is a noticeable lack of tables to stand and eat on, if you don't want to eat at your seat. There are tons of covered parking options around the stadium for a reasonable price. I haven't been to a ton of MLB ballparks, but the fact that this one was an enclosed stadium in the desert was a relief. The food selection at Chase is pretty solid and of course expensive, as was the beer (but when do you ever see cheap beer and food at an MLB stadium, or any stadium for that matter?). Another great part of the experience was watching the D-Backs walk all over the Rockies. Was here for the D-Backs game and also the kids got recognized as star students and got to walk onto the field. I like this place but like a lot of stadiums, I hate buying food from here. I like the fact we are able to bring in items like water, seeds, and other sealed snacks. What gets me in trouble is the beer(s). Make sure to sit in the lower sections. Went to a Rockies game last month and it was a decent experience. Would I rate this in the Top 10 ballparks in the US, probably not, but it was a nice enough stadium. Parking wasn't horrible, there are plenty of lots that are under $10 less than a half-mile from the stadium. If you want to park in the Chase Field lot, be prepared to pay through the nose. Getting through security was actually fairly efficient. From the time we lined up to the front door was less than five minutes. We had lower level seats that gave us a pretty good view of the field and they did not cost us a ton of money like I've experienced elsewhere, LA & NY. It looks like it has a retractable roof which would probably be nice if the Diamondbacks made the play-offs, don't mean this as a sarcastic comment. The food was as you would expect at a ballpark, not great and overpriced. It looks like there is a pool in the outfield which is an awesome idea for the summer. Dog friendly - to an extent. They have "dog days of summer" where you can buy tickets for the Petsmart area and bring your dog. This ballpark is always clean! I have seen it sold out during post season and it was still clean!! During regular season the lines are not ridiculous for food or drinks, and you can move around the field pretty easily. I have had a few instances that were not great though: on fan appreciation day when the corn dogs were a dollar I bought a few for my group and they were all still frozen in the middle, I have waited twenty minutes for a soda in the American Airlines Lounge, and I have gotten flat sodas from the underground bars one several occasions - one time a flat soda from a bottle, just.. how? I have been attending games here since it was Bank One Ballpark and I'll keep going until the tickets get stupid expensive. Sometimes I end up spending more on parking than on game tickets. read more

However, these services are mostly contract and is their main source of income for some of these folks, so have deep pockets and enjoy their offerings! I've been an avid baseball fan for years and while I don't follow the Diamondbacks, living in Prescott makes this the closest ballbark. Of the 10 MLB parks I have watched games in, Chase Field is the worst. The concessions here suck. Worse than Oakland. Food is terrible. Even by ballpark standards. People working the concessions don't know what they are doing. Went to get a brat during the 6th. Thing had been sitting under a heat lamp so long the bun was falling apart. The brat tasted like a lukewarm dog turd. Seats were not bad but if I want to watch the game I do it at home. If I want the ballpark experience I go to the park. Next time I want the ballpark experience I'll drive/fly to Anaheim, Chicago, Baltimore but not here. read more

I came here with my mom to the second to last game of the season. To my surprise the Arizona crowd represented the town well and there were 19,000 fans there and mostly Diamond Back fans. I bought seats on Stub Hub for less than 1/2 the face value and it even included parking at the adjoining Chase parking lot. We're weekend season ticket holders and LOVE going to games here! The AC is amazing, and the open-air roof is awesome on a cooler day or evening. The lines can be long for food, but if you have the MLB app you can order food/drinks and have them delivered to your seat. No brainer! You can bring in unopened items (non-alcoholic beverages), people sell snacks outside of the venue at a much more affordable cost. The staff is super friendly it's a great ballpark! read more

This ballpark has an incredible selection of locally brewed beer and local restraint options. I have been to Miller and Petco parks which are both great but there is something about the unique food options at chase that help this ballpark to standout. This place is HUGE with so many concession stands offering anything you could ever think of you feel like you're walking around a shopping mall but then you get to your seats you have a legit baseball experience. The roof was closed the day I went so while it was over 100 degrees outside we were watching the game in total comfort and they have a real grass field which makes it even better. I was a skeptic about the closed roof but after so many awful weather and rain delay games in DC, a roof is the way to go. I would've been curious to see them open the roof though but maybe another time. Friendly ushers, great seats from the upper deck on the first level, and you can bring your own food and water inside. I generally measure sports venues by 3 important criteria: 1. How long is the line to pee? 2. How easily can I get there? 3. How far do I have to schlep to find something my kid will eat? Chase Field has high marks for 1 & 2. Even on a sold out Opening Day, the bathrooms had plenty of stalls available. Attendants were sweeping up and keeping the soap dispensers full; that is 5 star effort! Taking the light rail allowed us to breeze from the east valley into downtown, even with the Final Four and Fan Fest madness. A short walk from the stop put us right in front of the stadium - that's 5 star transport. Now, unfortunately finding my kid something to eat was more of an effort than I expected and I missed more than a full inning getting him sorted. Tried Subway but the sandwiches were pre-made and they refused to give me just plain turkey and bread. Burgers were only available as cheeseburgers. Finally, I ordered chicken strips and fries. Sounds easy, right? No. THEY RAN OUT OF FOOD! I ended up standing there with 300 other people in line while they scrambled to find someone to bring them more food. Then they had to cook the food and fill all the backed up orders. Mind you, this was during the 3rd inning. So absolute food fail right there. 1 star. The new bag policy is absurd and is just another way the park is extorting money from its own fan base. Small bags can no longer be brought in, small purses, Fanny packs, etc. The only exception are clear bags, but most people who show up don't know that, forcing them to either throw out their bag, or pay $10+ depending on the size of the bag if you don't have a car to drop it off in. They passed the cost of security checking bags onto the customer under the veil of safety. read more

Chase is an affordable, family friendly, squeaky clean ballpark in the heart of Phoenix. I was excited to get fantastic seats for under $40 on Labor Day, when my Giants were defeated by the Diamondbacks, and when Arizona Native Tartar Sauce aka The Great Grumpy Cat, decided to grace us with her presence and "throw out" the first pitch ("I get you girls amazing seats and you get the most excited OVER A CAT." -The Long-Suffering Dbacks Fan, Host, Chauffeur, and BF of the BFF. Totes not true. ;-D). There is no such thing as amazing seats for that price at my park. Me, one of my besties, and her boyfriend came early so I could wander around the ballpark and take it all in. I got to see a bit of the early practice, though we arrived after batting practice, respectively. It was fun to wave at the team and sit in the visiting section with all my other orange friends. The only reason I took a star off is for the not so awesome acoustics and sound in this building. It is massive, and has A/C, which is awesome during a typical Phoenix day, but it was hard to hear. There are so many things to do here, and so many things to EAT. Two words: Churro. Dog. Donut/Éclair bun, churro in the middle, covered with ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and nuts. Yes and please! My diet starts tomorrow! I appreciated the variety of food, not that I needed any after having the aforementioned sinful sugarbomb. My bestie and I split a red rope and had a few drinks. That was plenty. It was set up a lot like a huge food court in here. There were lots of chain kiosks like Subway, ColdStone, and Panda Express, along with the usual themed ballpark food, like pizza and hot dogs of all kinds, including the Sonoran Dog, which is also supposed to be famous and delicious. Jack Daniel's Mixed Drink booth was another favorite. Chase doesn't skimp on hard alcohol availability. This was just one choice among many as far as mixed drinks went.There are beer choices, but you have to hunt for them. Tall cans were available, which was nice. Pricing as a whole is a lot cheaper than SF, and even Oakland, the only other two places I've been to a Major League Ballgame. Not only that, but they offer family meal deals, cheap deals on food as low as $1.50, AND they have All You Can Eat Seats here. WHAT. There is a whole section where you can gorge yourself while you watch. As if this isn't enough to choose from, there's also a swimming pool in right field, which is either a very good or very terrible idea. Sounds like a good way to distract people who are bored by baseball, but also a good way to get beaned with a homer. All in all, Chase is a blast. I appreciated the smorgasbord of the senses. Coming from a diehard baseball fanatic family, having visited every 'classic' ballpark with my Dad over the years, I was thrilled to learn that my BIL works for the Diamondbacks, so "letter section" tickets are frequently available to us gratis. My PIC, equally a fan, surprised me with a trip to a Dodger game recently. Since it was during the unforgiving heat of summer/Monsoon season the roof was closed, I was pleased that it was actually relatively cool inside. Definitely feels like a newer park, though it is nearly 20 years old. Liked seeing local PHX favorites such as LoLo's and Paradise Valley; they also have wraps, a Gluten Free stand, typical ballpark fare, chains (Subway, Panda Express, Cold Stone) and an array of beverage options. We enjoyed waiter service at our seats: I only had Crackerjacks and a Sam Adams, but Scott enjoyed a hot dog, fries, ice cream and popcorn. The crowd was really engaged, lots of Dodgers fans represented, and nobody hassled us for sporting Yankee gear. Can't speak to parking fees or difficulties as we stayed at the Hyatt Regency nearby that night. There's literally dozens and dozens of local restaurants and bars in the area, and the Light Rail is close, too. We will definitely return: it is great to live in a city with professional sports again! ***Seeing a baseball game indoors is what makes Chase Field unique and worth a visit; the actual stadium, food and amenities are like some of the more boring new stadiums like Nationals Park and Turner Field*** Chase Field was the first indoor baseball stadium I ever visited. Watching a baseball game indoors definitely has a unique feel. The stadium sounds different and everything feels closer too. A lot of these indoor stadiums utilize big windows that provide an inside-but-outside feel that is probably far from what many think they would get with indoor stadiums given the more closed-in stadiums that a lot of people are familiar with like the Astrodome. An indoor baseball stadium is definitely unique and worth a visit though my second experience did not feel as special as my first visit here. Part of it was just that the uniqueness of being at an indoor stadium kind of wore off. Another part was that I visited Minute Maid Park after that first trip to Chase Field and Minute Maid Park goes one better than Chase Field by combining the uniqueness of an indoor stadium with a great look that is inspired by the history of Houston. Chase Field has an okay look but just not a special one. There are a few nice touches here and there like the pool in the outfield. Seating is comfortable too. I felt it was occasionally difficult to track the ball when fly balls were hit. In terms of food, the noticeable advantage of Chase Field is the presence of a value menu. The value menu features hot dogs, corn dogs, popcorn, soft drinks, and beer (a lot of the items are $1.50 each). The value can be misleading though. If you just want to get a taste of something like popcorn, it is a decent deal, but portion sizes for most of these items tend to be small. One of the surprising things about the food at Chase Field is the lack of local (or at the very least) regional food, which so many of the new baseball stadiums feature. Most of the food at Chase Field is from national (or large) chains like Fatburger, Panda Express, Friday's, and Cold Stone Creamery. Chase Field is not a big stadium so there are not a lot of things to do within the stadium, but it is a nice enough and interesting enough stadium to walk around and explore before the game. Chase Field is a good but not great baseball stadium. What makes it most interesting is the fact that it is indoors. In terms of the stadium itself, the food and the things to do, it is more similar to the okay but not that interesting new baseball stadiums like Nationals Park and Turner Field than the great new, attractive and fun stadiums like PNC Park, Busch Stadium and Great American Ballpark. Parking around Chase Field is okay. Parking rates are not particularly cheap, but you can get close to the stadium and it is not that difficult to get out after the game. read more
