Ted B., a Chase Master Installer, repaired 2 honeycomb shades in our family room. He was meticulous in his work and did not settle on the shades' performance until they worked perfectly. In fact, they now work even better than the shades not needing repair. While having shades repaired on a mobile basis was not inexpensive, I was unable to remove the shades myself to bring them to the shop. It would have saved me the cost of a house call. But, it was worth the extra money to have it done here at home. I recommend both Chase and Ted for your shade needs. My husband and I recently bought a house that came with Hunter Douglas blinds, 3 of which needed restringing. Ted came over, picked up the blinds, took them to his shop and came back and reinstalled them all within one day. Can't beat the timeliness of that! Also, when he was here he answered a bunch of my questions about how best to care for the blinds, which I believe will make them last longer and require fewer repairs. I'd generally give that a 5 star rating, but within 3 days the "bell" that holds the strings together had come apart on all three of them. Two strings broke on our 12' Hunter-Douglas Easy Rise shade. I took a look and the spindle looked really complicated and nothing on U-Tube was similar. Took it to our local shade shop - no help and would need to to send to H-D for repair. Checked in on the H-D web site and did live chat - very helpful and suggested Chases - authorized H-D service center. Took blind over - no problem and ready in two days. On time and on budget. I needed my Hunter Douglas aluminum blinds restrung for a number of our plethora of windows after moving into Husband-Bear and my first home together in 2016. I was scared because Hunter Douglas blinds are PRICEY! Chase's Carpets & Blinds (CCB) was very professional. They were timely and fair. The CCB guy was very willing to discuss the longevity of our current window treatments, how often we might need to restring in the future, and even gave us a rough estimate if we wanted to get plantation shutter blinds in the future. I appreciated the honesty about cost of replacement vs. restringing. We were even missing one of the sticks to adjust the blinds and our guy had an extra in the truck he was able to replace for us on the spot. For 4 re-strings, 2 wands, and remounting a fallen blind, the cost was $225. I'm normally pretty handy but after looking at how to restring blinds on YouTube, I was more than happy to spend this amount of money to save myself the time. After watching my guy from CCB do the work, I was extra happy I paid someone! In 2017, I'm pleased to say that the work has held up beautifully! I will be calling CCB in the future for all my window treatment needs. read more

Ok. Here's what you get when you work with Chase's Carpet & Blinds: Good, honest, quality work. I had water damage in one room this February and Chris came out and gave a bid. Then, while the roof was waiting to be fixed, I had more water damage in two more spots in the house. I waited 3 months until the roof was fixed and called Chris to come FINALLY do the work. Chris came, did the job which was half the day and then spent the other half fixing the two new spots. He had saved ALL my previous information and quote and was completely prepared. Thankfully I had pre-purchased enough padding. Chris did the work no problem even though it was one of the hottest days of 2017 AND he had sprained his ankle a few days back. He's no sissy and for that I thank him 100% for coming through for me. I recommend Chase's Carpet & Blinds to anyone needing carpet replacement, fixing, care and cleaning! Chris, you're the best. Oh - let me mention Wayne from Benicia Flooring Co. who recommended me to Chase's Carpet & Blinds initially since it was a special case of reinstalling the matt and re-tacking and cleaning. Wayne's company did a wonderful job of installing the carpet initially and I don't recall why he couldn't do the fix. We had a wide, heavy roman shade that needed to be repaired (strings in the back snapped and unwound.) They were able to change out all of the strings. It took two days (we dropped off and picked up.) So far, seems like good work and it is holding up. Thought they would maybe vacuum or dust it off a bit given the cost, but overall good work and happy to have it fixed. read more

Please beware of this company. My family had them "clean" their carpets a while back, and it turned into a complete nightmare. The first tech they sent out left the carpets VERY wet, and we smelled an awful moldy smell after a couple of days. When we called Chase back, we told them the carpets still were not dry and now had developed mold. We were a bit afraid, knowing the health risks of having mold in a house. Chase came back out to try and remedy the problem, and ended up making the problem WORSE by AGAIN not sucking all the water out of the carpets! Their solution at this point: DRYERS. This has been literally THEE WORST carpet cleaner experience of my lifetime. They ruined our carpets, they couldn't fix what they had done, and they made no offer of replacement. NEVER AGAIN. I just found my folder of receipts from Chase's carpet cleaning, dating back to November 1996! We used them today, our 14th time in 20 years, and I realized I'd never reviewed them before. They have always been excellent. Shelley (daughter of Chase, who only passed away recently, I hear) is efficient and pleasant on the phone, although we've never met. The three technicians we have had over the years have all arrived on time, been courteous, moved furniture, and most importantly, done a good job. They leave me with a bottle of their very effective spot cleaner - it's best to spot clean stains as soon as possible after they occur, rather than waiting for a year until the next cleaning. Mainly we clean all our wall-to-wall carpeting, but they've occasionally helped me with cushions. I wait about 18 hours before re-placing the furniture in the right spots. I have not found that Scotchguard helps so I no longer pay for that. Coupons arrive in the mail and today I got $40 off the total. read more

Being the middle to COVID, we made an appointment and met Shelly at the Showroom where she showed us all the different shades and explained the differences. Within 24 hours we had an emailed quote for the 3 various designs we had chosen. After that, Tim came out and measured. He is such a professional. So respectful of us and our home, and just a really nice and personable guy. He really knows his stuff and even brought more samples as I was having second thoughts on our first choices. After more discussion, we decided on Harbor Mist (perfect as we live on the Marina) and in 5 short weeks, he was back again installing them. This is a wonderful, family run, honest, reliable, old fashioned, small business. This is who you feel good about giving money to. They come in, do an amazing job, charge fair prices and are incredibly nice on top of it all! I hired them, years ago, to clean my blinds. They did a fantastic job! I didn't even know you could submerge blinds, restring them and make them like new! Way cheaper than new ones! I have since moved and my neighbors just completed two years of construction. What a mess! They jack hammered up a huge cement driveway outside of my windows.... ( I wasn't home and the windows were open!) so... I hired Chase's to do the blinds, my wall to wall, beige carpeting and my sofas and chairs.. I really thought it would ALL have to be replaced because of the dirt. They not only got the dirt out of everything, they honestly made it all look brand new. Chris, the carpet and upholstery guy was so sweet... he took nearly 2 hours just to do my sofa! He worked for HOURS to get the dirt out of my carpeting. It looks amazing! I have hired the big chain guys... it was useless... I promise you, you will never hire anyone else again. We have electric Hunter-Douglas blinds in our house and after 14 years the line in one died causing the blind to hang strangely and not operate appropriately. After googling/searching, my husband talked with Chase's and arranged an appointment with Ted (?). We had this happen to another blind a couple of years ago, but couldn't find the business contact -- possibly no longer in business. The process took about a month. Someone came out, removed the blind, shipped it to H-D, returned, scheduled reinstall, blah, blah blah. It took forever. When Ted arrived, he immediately saw the problem and offered to fix it right then and there. What?! A skilled, knowledgeable person able to fix something quickly. Not possible. But that is exactly what he did. I asked him to check the rest of our blinds and he identified three others that were on their last legs. So I asked him to replace their cords as well. That was weeks ago, and everything is running perfectly. Ted was pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient, and quick. I would HIGHLY recommend Chase's. read more

The guy was able to 'restring' them and make them like new. He came on time, is always friendly, was able to give me tips on the care and cleaning of my window coverings. We had a number of inoperative Hunter-Douglas electric blinds and I was told that Hunter-Douglas no longer provides parts for our 15 year old blinds. I was then referred to Chase's by a realtor acquaintence and made an appointment. Ted Ball, Chase's expert on blinds, came to our house and fixed all of our defective blinds, except one with a bad motor (which H-D no longer manufactures). The repairs were complex and, in several instances, Ted had to create solutions using cannibalized parts and new parts to replace no-longer available parts. He was amazing, to say the least. Ted arrived early for our appointment, was extremely knowledgeble, had every imaginable tool and part, was personable, worked quickly, even when inventing solutions, and respected our property while performing his work. I had service today with Ted to work on two of my Silhouette Blinds that weren't working properly. It was one of the best days of any service call I have ever received (I'm in my 70's, so have had a lot), on anything I've needed done whether appliances, garage door, you name it. He fixed everything. Saw things that needed to be done, that I know anyone else wouldn't have paid any attention. He didn't try to sell me more expensive solution to replace the controls, but thought he could clean and get our controls working properly and with doing thought they could last for years. He replaced our brackets which were 10 years old and worn and some broke, replaced our chords, and adjusted their placement on the frame, so they would work better. These weren't things he was looking for to add more to the bill. He wanted to do a completely successful job. I was so pleased with his work ethic and honesty. You don't come across this integrity often. When you do it is a blessing. I highly recommend Ted that does repairs on Hunter Douglas at Chase's Carpet & Blinds. read more
