I wish I brought my cats here sooner! My one cat in particular is very afraid of the vet and it's always a struggle taking him. I've seen doctors put on rubber gloves before to hold him down because he goes ballistic. I thought this was normal as it was the same over the years with different vets. After my previous vet hired an assistant who didn't communicate very well with me, I decided to try a new vet... with hopes of finding a better fit for my boy, too. Even though this was twice the distance from my house, the reviews were promising so I gave it a shot. I took him here for the first time today and holy heck... I was in tears thanking her for her way with him at the end. I had never seen him be so receiving with a veterinarian before! I felt so at ease not having to watch him scream and cry. My dog Oliver Winston had been here for an evaluation in May and then we moved. His teeth did not improve so I saw a vet near me in Fernandina Beach. This vet felt that Oliver was not a candidate for surgery bc of a strong heart murmur. Their course of action was weeks of antibiotics.. I know that long term use of antibiotics creates problems for kidneys and more. I started researching homeopathy remedies and this was helping but I could see his receding gum line worsening. A homeopathy vet said to find a surgeon and have his teeth taken out. The vets near me who could do this were booked into Dec just for an initial consult. I called Chasewood and they were awesome. I'm leaving for an urgent family matter, but my cat has been throwing up. I called Chasewood because I'm currently a customer and they were able to fit me in today. I was under the impression they said 530, but after I received a call at 5:07 stating they said it was 4:30, I got my cat and a carrier locked up the house got in the car and started driving. Roughly 15 minutes later, I got a call from a different employee in the state 'You'll have to find an emergency animal hospital. We told you 430 and when we called last time you said you thought it was 515'. He continued to be condescending rude & lacked complete regard. Even at this point right now, the vet is still open for 30 minutes. I just need them to look at my cat and I would pay for the service. But not only did they cancel because of a miscommunication, but they just left me in a terrible position As a customer, at the expense of my cat. Don't work at an animal hospital if you have no empathy. I'm appalled that this person is allowed to talk to customers that way. We met Dr. Maria in 1994 and at that time we had a 125 pound Rottweiler and were unhappy with the vet we were using because he would always muzzle her. Dr. Maria pulled out a can of cheese wiz, put it on her finger and got right down on the floor with the dog. She proceeded with the exam and shots. We've used many vet clinics in many states, since we've moved alot. Dr. Maria Lowry is one of the best vet doctors we've come across. One of our cats has Lymphoma and was being treated by an internist, who was not doing such a good job of keeping him as healthy as possible, under the circumstances, and costing us lots of payouts doing one blood test after another, one anti-biotic after the other, which only caused him to lose his appetite make his situation worse. His condition got so bad, we were positive he would have to be put down. We took him to Dr. Lowry and, through her EXPERTISE and INGENUITY, she saved his life for another day, as they say. And, she has taken wonderful care of our other two, one of which has renal failure. Do you really want to give your money and allow your dog to be in the care of a doctor so petty she would only give a 6 month heart worm medication when I asked and there is no valid reason why not to give a 12 month medication? Seriously. Please go to another doctor and let this trivial, childish vet retire. My last visit with her when Jasper was feeling terrible and scaring me went poorly when she couldn't get him to show the same signs of kennel cough that I had been seeing. My wife and I first met Dr.Lowry in 1994. We were unhappy with the vet we Were using. I read an article in the local Jupiter newspaper about a Veterinarian that tried to save the life of a cat that was skinned alive. I told my wife about the article and that I wanted to make an appointment for an exam for our 120 lb Rottweiler. Dr. Maria Lowrys office at that time was in the Winn Dixie shopping plaza off of Indiantown road. Several sprays of Cheese Whiz to her fingers and our Rottweiler was totally at ease and calm. The previous vet we were using would not get in the same room with the dog without putting a muzzle on her first. I was taking my dog Milo to this place for almost a yr and every 6 weeks he had to be sedated to have his nails trimmed. To learn of their barbaric ways of sedating my puppy ( two people holding him down while another gave him a needle, put him in fear.) He begin showing his dislike for them because of the fear that they caused. Then back in February after me refusing to have milo put on prozac, they said they were unable to sedate him. Not true, any one can be sedated. So I started seeking the services of Tequesta Vets and milo is doing so well with them. Then I learned that Chasewood advised the new vet that my sweet milo was vicious which is not true and tequesta confirmed that milo is a sweet boy. How dare chasewood try to destroy my puppies reputation for their own selfish reason. Any viciousness that they seen was do to the way they treated him. Putting him in fear. Plus chasewood veterenarn hospital is very dirty and the ladies there are rude and very unprofessional. I would Never EVER use chasewood for any pet nor recommend them. Had a bad experience here recently. Brought my dog in for dental surgery. Was asked by the recep. if I had a quote on the surgery. I said no! DVM comes in and says $500 to as high as $1000. WTF!!!! For some extractions??? Were not getting implants here. You mean to say you can't come any closer on price then near $1000??? I was in the Vets face making an obvious point, your a crook!!! Why is it these Vets think their all heart surgeons? The animal was hurting so I went along, with the caviot We'll talk more when your finished. Oh to my surprise the bill comes to $370. So much for +/-. Don't be fooled by the staff loves my dog bs. All these vets care about is $. I'm on line looking for another Vet now and the same complaints over and over. Money money money!!! It's no wonder they can't keep customers. Imagine they want the office visit $, the medical test $, the drug $ Sell the food $, the sugical $ the dental money $. Are they never satified. A local Dental office advertises $25.00 extractions and these bandits want thousands. The trick is get a firm quote and call around. They sharpen their pencil if they know you might not come back Maria the vet is ok, as a vet. Nothing special! Watch the prices on everything. we took our very sick dog in on saturday, thinking that he might have to be euthanized. after going to 4 different vets in the past nine months, 1 of them a very popular local vet in jupiter, all we had accomplished was flushing $3,000 down the toilet and had been browbeaten in a very condescending manner because we wouldn't continue to submit our dog for more expensive, useless tests and treatments. no vet should insinuate that you are a bad pet owner because you have a budget. we were very upfront with dr. maria, and within 10 minutes, she had clipped a skin sample and put it under a microscope, in front of us, and was showing us the demodex mite crawling through my dog's sample on the computer screen! it was as easy as that! we were minutes away from putting or dog to sleep because other vets were more interested in racking up big bills doing complicated tests, and this wonderful woman immediately thought to do the simple, logical thing, even if it was not something that would line her pockets. within 48 hours, our dog has gone from near unconsciousness to up and about, even pushing a his favorite ball around, begging us to play fetch! i cannot say enough wonderful things about dr. maria and her staff. she has gained lifelong customers in us and our 2 cocker spaniels. i will shout from the rooftops to recommend her and can say that i have more trust in her than any other vet, spanning 2 different states. vet care costs money, that is part of the deal when you own a pet. but just like people's healthcare, most people have a budget and to find a vet that doesn't beat you up because of that is rare in our experience. dr. maria is kind, compassionate and obviously puts her patients first, and that is why i totally recommend her. read more

My daughter's cat charlie is sick, but my daughter is on vacation so I hurried to Chasewood Animal Hospital, I was there a few minutes before 8am and they accommodated me. However, they don't have a vet and we don't have an appointment, we've never been there. Marina at the front desk looks at Charlie and thinks that he really needed to be seen by a vet asap. She called several hospitals for us and asked if they have a vet available that early who could see our cat Charlie without an appointment, she was able to find Harmony.
