Brought my dog in to have a small cyst removed. The vet said they would do an incision that looked like a "+" so that the cyst could be removed. When we picked up the dog the incision was horizontal. Not a big deal until we got him home and he started to stand up, scratch with that leg, or move in general. The wound opened up and when I called the vet they said they wouldn't be able to do anything for us until "at least tomorrow"...even though I explained he had a hole and it was bleeding. We waited the day and they restitched the wound. The next day, the wound opened up again. They made us pay them for the restitch even though it wasn't the dogs fault. Brought in my 10 month old cat having difficulty breathing for the past 24 hours and loss of appitite for the past month, Vet charged me $66.00 to say the cat may have had some trauma, possibly hit by a car. I explained that the cat was an indoor cat and has experienced no trauma. Vet wanted $450.00 to do some tests. Cat died the next day after gasping for air for 48 hours. I have been taking my Pug to Native Palm for the past 8 years. She has lots of health issues based on her breed, so visits to the office are not uncommon for her. I have always been treated with respect and made to feel as though Peanut is the most important animal in the office at the time. Most recently Peanut was diagnosed with SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Disease). She was referred to a local specialist by the office and followed up with a personal phone call from Dr.M just see how she was doing. I was so impressed with the special attention and service I received from Dr . McMindes and staff when I called late in the afternoon the other day upset that my dog could not close her mouth properly. I thought she may have had some type of lock-jaw condition and I was asked to bring her right in. With the COVID-19 awareness, the tech came right out when I arrived, collected my information and my grimacing dog and said that the Dr. would try to look at her in between her scheduled appointments. It didn't take long for the tech to call and explain my dog's issue and within the hour I was able to pick her up with her back molar tooth extracted, teeth freshly brushed, improved breath and most important of all her happy attitude returned. Dr. McMindes came out with the tech when I picked up my dog and personally explained and showed me what she had to do and what I needed to follow up on.
