This place is walking distance from my job. All I needed was some gel color taken off of my natural nails. I walked in. It's pretty busy, but nothing wild. I stood at the front desk for 5 minutes ... not a single stylist said anything to greet me. They all saw me and said nothing. I then sat down thinking ok, I'll wait until someone comes up. 2 stylists were done with their clients, came to the front desk, took care of them, and went back to their chairs. They saw me and didn't say a thing. If this place doesn't take walk-ins, they need a sign that says so. If they DO take walk-ins, then their customer service absolutely sucks. No matter what kind of business it is, a greeting of every customer walking through that door is normal. 15 minutes of time wasted just sitting there. Glad I didn't waste my money on a business with horrible customer service. read more

So I should say off the top that I like the way my pedicure came out well. My nail tech was good at her job, if I did leave thinking I'd like a little bit more filed from my heels, but it's not a big deal. She didn't seem like she was terribly interested in genuine discussion, she would ask me a question and then kind of tune out. I know it's not her job to be buddy buddy, but it does play into the whole experience. The reason for the low rating though isn't attributed to MY tech. I would rate my experience with her about a 4. The issue I had was with the nail tech opposite me. There was a group of older women there whom I am assuming were close friends with the nail tech. They were incredibly loud and gossipy, which I understand can't really be helped, but it was being encouraged by the nail tech. It was obnoxious. They were almost yelling at points in their conversation and it really ruined the whole time for me. NOT a relaxing pedicure. However, that in and of itself wouldn't have spurred me to write a negative review if I hadn't heard what I heard next. The tech opposite my station started bad mouthing a client she had either just seen or was about to see. As a customer this is VERY uncomfortable. She was being very negative and gossipy about this woman with the rest of the group and they were being loud and gossipy in response. First rule of ANY business is that you do NOT bad mouth customers in front of other customers, it's an elementary concept. It completely dissolves all trust or confidence in the business's professionalism because you have no idea if you're going to be the next subject of discussion the second you walk out the door. It is for that reason that I felt compelled to review. It certainly was not worth the $40 price tag, I'm sorry to say. read more

Brooke absolutely butchered my hair. My hair came almost to my waist before I went in. I wanted just an inch trim all around to clean up the ends. I asked for exactly this - my hair to be cut an inch to an inch and a half, but to make sure it stays long in the front so I can pull it back. Well she cut off over four (4) inches all around, and EIGHT inches off on the sides immediately beside my face. In the 40 minute haircut, spent 30 minutes trimming to angle around my face which I didn't even want. She made it so short I can't even pull it back now... and it came almost to my WAIST before. The layers are choppy and look terrible. I won't be able to pull my hair back for sports for months with how short she cut it. I am so disappointed. Furthermore while I was there, the other stylists were gossiping about clients they don't like; a conversation that involved the entire staff. This is very inappropriate and unprofessional, especially the larger woman with the reddish blonde hair who was leading the gossip train and wearing a mint colored see thru knit shirt ... try to have some class guys . Please avoid this place. read more

Such a sweet giving staff who opens up their salon and donates hair dye and services (2 years in a row!) for our school team to get our "pink highlights" on. We bring snacks and beverages and it's a great, low key, atmosphere to celebrate our amazing women, bring recognition to Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. We are so grateful and highly recommend these sweet women. read more

While visiting back home, took my son for a cut on a friend's recommendation. The stylist was fantasic, really listened to my complaint about a previous cut from a different salon...Finn looks great! And the prices for the kid's cuts can't be beat! We will go here every summer that we visit! read more

Yet to find a good barber outside of Lubbock, TX! So, rather than risk my locks to a NY barber, I went to see Jen (the owner) at Chateau. Super nice. The place was jammed - the ladies there said the place was awesome. They were right. Great haircut - greta price - great people. Even with the place packed, she took my right in and went to work making' me purdy. I'll be back for the next haircut. read more

My experience with Juli at Chateau is always great. She is friendly and very knowledgeable in her field. I go every 3 weeks to get my eyebrows waxed and they always look perfect. I have also had a facial which was extremely relaxing. My face felt wonderful after and Juli gave great instructions for care after. Juli can always recommend what my face needs and what changes I need to make in my routine to keep my skin looking healthy. read more

I get my eyebrow and other facial waxing done by Juli and absolutely love her! I started going in August 2014 and have not plucked or gotten my eyebrows waxed by anyone else since! Very disappointed. My hair didn't come out the way I envisioned. The hairdresser totally disregarded what I requested or she is simply incapable of highlighting hair. She also sent me home with wet hair, because her diffuser was broken (it's 12 degrees outside, hello!!!). I went back, tried to give her a second chance to redeem herself, but she still couldn't get it right. How difficult is it to foil few more highlights in?She was rude and unpleasant, told me to "leave the salon". The owner was equally rude, wouldn't refund my $ or correct the problem herself either. I spent $145 at this establishment, and I'm stuck with hair I don't like. If you love your hair and value your $ DON'T go there. read more

Juli was absolutely amazing!!! She was so accommodating, traveled from Rochester to Buffalo to do makeup for my wedding in June. Juli did makeup for some of my bridesmaids, my mom, mother-in-law, and myself. Everyone loved Juli and the work she did. We all looked beautiful and natural. Juli's costs are very reasonable, and well worth it. Juli will be doing makeup for my MOH's wedding this coming April!
